Hi good folks of BEEX. I think right about now a lot of folks are finishing work for a few days, or possibly until next year, ready to just have a few days of twinkly lights and rest, or busy excitement with the family.

I wanted to wish you all a wonderful few days of whatever you are doing. Thank you for being funny, clever, interesting friends. Sorry I’m not about so much in person recently. I’ve had a tough few years, but it’s good to have such lovely people a click away. It was great to see Mr Zoidberg again this year, and I hope we’ll see Gaz & Jem soon, and maybe catch a few more as the year progresses.

We were due to receive guests tomorrow morning to stay for a few days but they’ve come down with Covid this afternoon so our plans have changed. I purposefully didn’t tell Darwin as it’s happened so many times these past three years that I’ve learned not to tell him of anything exciting things until they are underway, so as far as he knows we are due to enjoy the same little Christmas he’d expected anyway.

I’m looking forwards to some Christmas Only Connect and University Challenge, making veggie sausage rolls and playing some silly games.

Sending love to you all x x x

Merry Christmas everyone!

I too have just tested positive for COVID.

If anyone wants me, I'm under a blanket on the sofa.

Oh no. I’m so sorry Jazzy. Does this mean a big change to your plans for the next few days? Rest well and get well soon.

Thank you everyone. It’s been a tough and strange few years for everyone, and I’ve had it on the back of some personally difficult stuff too, but I’m hopeful for next year.

Yeah, but it's first world problems in the great scheme of things. Sam has still chosen to come over and I've rearranged the boxing day tribe for in a couple of weeks. I'm more annoyed about scuppering Chloe's birthday plans. But never mind. We are all safe and (mostly) well.

It's sadly just the way of things now. For all the talk of 'getting back to normal' things really aren't. I have seen at least five or six other friends post positive test results just today. I hope it passes quickly for you and that you can enjoy two Christmas get togethers.

It’ll do. May you all have an excellent day, eating a truly heroic amount of cheese and other foodstuffs.

I don't think this is particularly down to COVID though, I was ill anyway, it could have been D&V or strep throat, it just so happens that it's COVID this time. So I don't feel COVID specifically is the issue here, and things are back to normal for most people.

Ours was a simple lunch but tasty, and we had leftovers, which is unusual for us as I usually only cook what we need, but it made for an easy lunch today.

We’re having an easy day of it today. Darwin didn’t wake us up until gone 9am so the day feels like it is racing away.

How are you feeling now, Jazzy?

I love the gold and blue Mimi, it's beautiful and so effective. :luv:

I'm definitely improving everyday, but still poorly and glad we cancelled people coming over.

Joans tested positive on Christmas day too, but seems to have it much more mild and is already on the mend.

Project disinfect has begun. :D

I think tve picture makes tve colours look brighter than they are in reality. It’s a dark navy with a colour closer to a muted gold than bright yellow. It looks like the outside of IKEA there. The walls will be dark blue with a wooden floor when we get around to it. I want quite a dark, cosy dining room.

Glad you’re feeling better and tvat Joans has it mild so he can concentrate on looking after you. Russell’s dad tested positive in Christmas Day also. They said a slow walk out today made them feel a little better.

I thought it was a navy, but wasn't sure. It looks like it could have been sapphire too. It's looking lovely.

I'm thinking of a walk out tomorrow, a hot bath and lots essential oils seem to have helped too. I'm glad they are feeling better.
