He did us proud.

Someone has mathsed this up, but I doubt it’s doable as surely there aren’t enough points left.

Our entrant did us so proud. I’m going to buy his song, if I can work out how you even buy a song nowadays.

Amazing result for the UK and we'll deserved... He nailed it!

Now, are the Ukraine actually going to be able to host next year? If not, one of the big five will have to step in and do it. Italy won't do a double so that leaves 4... One of which is the UK.

I hope it comes here and more importantly, I hope I can get tickets.

Bravo to the Essex Thor for coming second. Great work.

Ukraine was okay; at least it wasn't a dreary, boring ballad. I am glad that none of the top five were, and I'm sure Moldova looked even more awesome due to coming after a run of pretty dire efforts.

UK, Sweden, Moldova, Spain were my favourites, I think. Possibly more, but I have forgotten. Oh yeah, maybe Serbia just for being like something out of a David Lynch movie.

I must have been distracted when Sweden came on as I thought it was dull as mud, but everyone else really loved it.

I just looked it up to make sure I was thinking if the right act, and I was.

I was ready to dislike Spain, but I thought that was ace. The singer absolutely sold that performance, as did our guy. I think that’s what stood out in those performances to me. They were really strongly presented. Also, who doesn’t want to be a spaceman? We were all at the national space centre the day before Eurovision, so that was a cheery callback to our day out, too.

Brum is in the Midlands, which starts when you cross the northern most tip of Oxfordshire. The Midlands ends when you enter the Peaks.

At least according to my headcanon.

It's in the Midlands, though appears to be heading south again.

Didn't go for tickets in the end (pick one of: forgot; forgot; sold out quickly anyway; forgot).

Still, reading the BBC's report on the festivities, I spotted this:

Quote:
a submarine street parade

How would we know?

The TicketMaster website basically fell apart, so even if you did remember and get in the queue early (like me, and thousands of other people) chances are you still would have walked away with nothing.

After all the different variables, there were probably only 5000 tickets for the final available, and each person could buy 4 at once. Chances were vanishingly small.

Popped to the Eurovision Village this afternoon. Armed police on the street by the Liver building, can only take bag smaller than an A4 piece of paper in with you, and it will be searched for contraband (food and drink, can't have the concessions losing sales)on the way in.

Other than that it was pretty decent for a look about.
