Can you believe I didn't own an Atari 2600 until today?

I've bought one with loads of games, paddles and a couple of controllers. All in fantastic condition too.

I also had a handful of NES games off the same guy including Zelda 2 which I've wanted forever.

Been thinking about getting a Saturn steering wheel but managed to get a multiformat one for £13 instead.

Luckily they were pre-counted and packaged. I didn't bother to check that I'd actually received those precise numbers.

Two huge boxes.

Two huge fragile boxes.

Two huge fragile boxes with lots of bubble wrap, because fragile.

Two huge, mostly empty boxes from obviously the same place, which could have been shipped together (and so I don’t really approve) but maybe we can forgive them this time because these things must be so, so fragile.

Oh no.

I've bought some Chlorine tables.

I don't know why but I thought it would be a good idea to open the tub, open the bag they're sealed in inside and take a sniff of them.

I almost ended up on the kitchen floor... Jeez, it's almost like they're some kind of dangerous chemical! Horrid.

Neither of the above.

These are to be found in millions of households in the UK, but the design may vary. In fact, if you have any, you will have three or possibly six.

One of these suggestions is correct.

I’m guessing it’s the inner agitator blade of a washing machine drum, then.

Shame, as at first I thought you’d 3D printed an ocarina.

Correct. Some manufacturers call them paddles, other call them drum lifters. This is for a Zanussi that has a damaged paddle, but I’m having trouble removing the damaged one. There are several videos on YouTube showing how to replace them, but not for this particular one. Some have retaining screws, others just clip in, but removing the old ones can bend the retaining springy bit of metal that holds them in place, or they can be pushed down with a screwdriver through one of the holes in the top.

Lovely. Seeing as it's you two: If favourite is shortened in speech to "fave", and in writing, often, to "fav", why do we not often see people shorten David to Dav?

(What I'm really saying is "isn't it nuts to call a fave a fav, and does it drive anyone else a bit mad?" but I don't want to be rude to Kov. Not till we're face to face, anyway, then he can squash me.)
