I popped to the Guardian's coverage to see whether he'd fallen further back today, and guess who's tweet my "Pinot" search brought up?

Good article on Pinot:

Quote:
"Pinot’s body and mind faltering at a Grand Tour is becoming a regular occurrence and, as he admits himself, could be a sign that a yellow jersey is not supposed to be. "

Has anyone watched Lance on BBC iplayer. It was a good documentary. He really does not come across as sorry.

Yes, someone posted about it in the TV thread a couple of weeks back. He doesn’t come caress as sorry for doping, no. On one hand he is still extremely rich, and famous, so maybe that is why.

I was surprised that he seemed to suggest he had no regrets when he had tge personal belief that using the growth hormone was what *gave* him testicular cancer, but I guess the cancer was part of the storyline that made him so famous, and maybe he saw the lurching trajectory as worth it in the long run. Hearing his son defend him and then have to admit his father was a fraud and that distress would have been enough to turn most people’s assuredness, though. Not his.

I would recommend the book The Secret Race which covers it. There's some hilarious moments in it. And ways of avoiding testing "the doorbell rang so I lay under the kitchen table until they went away".

Giro d'Italia fans that work from home will be pleased to know that it's on free to air on S4C accessible through BBC iPlayer.

It's in Welsh, mind.

Van der Poel really did make our day (euros what euros?), by being his brilliant self, and so emotional for the connection with his granddad poulidor ...

Ah, he smashed his collarbone and then used his skin to decelerate from 60kph as Sagan had a lie down on his back wheel

He's abandoned.

Cav is indeed awesome, also when he came in just before the time limit..

We had some fun as dutchies with vdPoel (yellow, stage), Schelling (great little fights on hills for the polka dot jersey), and poels (1 day polka dot)... but Jumbo-visma has much bad luck.. Even though this pogacar is stronger than a non-hurt roglic

Tour of Britain has been great so far. Some proper Thrilling Heroics, and proper Cornish team Saint Piran mixing it up with the elite.

This incident gives me pause for thought

https://twitter.com/alexfalkeman/status ... guVLw&s=19

The rider wasn't on the cobbles and the spectator was on the roadside.

When the rider clips the spectator (at 40kmh) I think it's more bad luck than the spectator's fault. Riding in the gully is the risk to gain the advantage of not being on the cobbles.

Imo the spectators should never be considered a part of the course and as such should stay away from the riders. This isn't group B rally.
