Oh, I also have a migraine, ache all over and am freezing cold, but I was expecting that after last time, but you can still give me sympathetic internet snuggles.

I feel like this now. I had my second this morning, and I was sitting reading a magazine a while ago and then I just... woke up. I must have fallen asleep, but without any of the prep to fall asleep. I was just suddenly away and only woke up because Russell phoned me.

It was just the one day like that for me. Hopefully you'll be back to normal tomorrow.

That’s good to know. I’m feeling it pretty bad now, especially the headache, but I’m hoping I’ll sleep it off and feel better tomorrow.

Oh no! I hope the effects are starting to wear off now and you are beginning to feel better?

Yeah, I’m starting to definitely pick back up now. Earlier today I felt like all my hips/legs/shoulders/back were going to be locked forever more, but that’s definitely easing, and I’ve stopped constantly shivering, so that’s good. I’m just really tired now and I have that horrible headache again that I got after the first one, that just didn’t clear for days. Hopefully after another sleep tonight I’ll be back to normal in the morning

Vax 5! Though I had a dose of AZ today.

My wife asked if I'd be emotional, as lots of people have found it to be so. I said nah. I haven't been so worried about getting covid that I'd be emotional about the vaccine.

But when it happened, I was. Really emotional. And it was the system you're in, all those people gesturing you down the corridor, making this thing happen. It was genuinely humbling and overwhelming. And yes I did choke up. It was a wonderful thing. feel an enormous debt of gratitude to the people who have made this happen, from top to bottom.

Gaz and I had ours on Wednesday - also Pfizer. Felt a bit tired yesterday and had a dead arm, although I'm not entirely convinced the tiredness isn't just the culmination of stress and shit eating lately.

Got Pfizered up today. Waiting to see what the side effects might be.

Had it done up at Kassam Stadium (Oxford United's ground). First time I've left that place happy with the result.

I'm on a training call all day today so haven't been following the Dominic Cummings show. I'm shocked to read that the government completely fucked things up.

Shocked to read it, or shocked that they did it?

I think this is all part of Cummings' Svengali-like plans to disrupt democracy.

I like the interpretation that "if I can't have him, no one can".

And it also looks like his version of conscience kicking in: I'm so clever, I can't possibly stand with the lies, so he has to publicly say all the shit that people said at the time and that we generally know, but has never been accepted, about late lockdowns, bad decisions etc etc etc..

Just down from me, the church choir are rehearsing outside and it is pretty nice to hear. Feels like there is a change in something. Feels like hope.

Can anyone explain the Rushi Sunak gilding that’s seemingly being done by Cummings? I don’t understand it but from everything I’ve read sticks out like a sore thumb.

Thanks

I managed to get a Thursday this time, so if I *do* get bad side effects I can miss a day of work instead of it messing up my weekend :)

Not too concerned though as I only had mild side effects last time.

I just felt tired and lethargic for a few days after my first, but it didn’t stop me going anything. Helen was wiped out for one day then back to normal immediately.

Not seen or read all of the session but I get the impression he sees Hancock and Johnson as yesterday's men and can be safely thrown under the Brexit Bus but thinks Sunak and Gove might have a stab at the leadership soon and he wants a job.

Plus, they're adding in an extra layer of future failure, with all the talk around "when we end restrictions, they must stay ended", an entirely arbitrary condition, adherence to which removes future flexibility for no good reason, while also possibly making them too cautious now.

It's the whole inevitability of it that really crushes the spirit. No doubt we'll be here again in another four weeks.

I've moaned a lot about previous administrations both in the BeeX era and before, but I genuinely have never known one so dangerously incapable of governing as this lot.

How can they possibly say "when we end restrictions, they must stay ended?" What if another new variant appears, which it may do? It must be horribly frustrating for those businesses that can't open until restrictions end, to have their hopes raised, only to be dashed again. But no one can predict what's going to happen with any certainty, so it's stupid tom make statements like that.

Because of the totally fucking hopeless government, I can't get pissed up in a field and watch loads of amazing bands at the end of July with my mates and Curio.

Interesting point in the "Sorry there's no festival, we have cancelled it" post from Kendal Calling, yesterday which sheds some light on the bigger picture: "Our understanding is that the Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) are keen to publish the ERP findings [they need these to run the event] and guidance, but that it now does not fit around No.10's communications plan."

Fucking twats,the lot of them

It's very 1984 in a way - people will be allowed to watch football, but listening to music? Get away with you, it's not on the allowed list.

Is it because the Euro semis and final are international, so the Government get to make an internal public display as a statement of how ‘well’ we are doing to show the success of the vaccine program? I guess Kendal Calling does not quite serve their purposes in that same way :(

I haven’t been paying any attention to international travel nor the Euros, but are fans from competing countries allowed to travel over to watch the matches in the U.K.?
