There is a extra payment calculator so you can work out how you payment effects your loan....

if I pay

£100 - it saves £72 in interest and reduces the loan by 2 months
£200 - it saves £138 in interest and reduces the loan by 3 months
£300 - it saves £199 in interest and reduces the loan by 5 months

Am I right, that if I keep paying £100, let it clear and the pay £100 again, it is better that paying £200 or £300 as it has a greater impact?

I can't imagine waiting longer will be better. The calculation for the second lot of £100 will not have the same effect as the first lot.

Is there a way you can adjust the figures of the calculator to take into account the shorter repayment time and lower balance?

I meant pay £100, let it clear it takes 24 hours, and the pay £100, as that will remove 4 months rather than 3 months if I paid £200. The interest is generated on the 21st, so would have the same net result interest, so clearing an extra month..

I am not sure the second £100 will also remove 2 months from the life of the policy. Also something to think about is that you might not be able to make a second over payment in the same month.

This seems odd to me. Overpaying by more should increase the amount of interest you don't pay, as the amount should compound. Overpaying 200 should save you more than double overpaying 100. I'm guessing the 2/3/5 months is just due to it having to round to the nearest month for total payments - your last payment might be smaller than normal.

Is it possible you'd be charged a fee for over-payment? Some loans have an amount you can overpay for free then they start charging.

I checked there is no over payment fee. It is a little quirky.

So how much is the little quirky fee?

Just had a delivery of alcohol free beer from Amazon, as it works out cheaper than Tesco. I had to prove my age..

Why do you have prove your age for AF or LA drinks, it is the same in super markets

Can't speak for Amazon, but in bricks and mortar retailers I would assume it's because the "check age" thing is likely to be applied on a category of products rather than individual items (saves admin and reduces the risk of an age-restricted product not having the "flag" put on it)

I buy 0.0% alcohol red wine for cooking, from Ocado, and they require an age check with passport. When Russell queried this (as it made contact-free m, distanced delivery delivered in the flat, the driver said it was because alcohol free wine contained alcohol in a large enough percentage that he has to check it. I don’t know how much alcohol is on 0.0% wine, but I’m pretty sure there’s more in something like a tiramisu or a decent Christmas puffin, which I assume they do t have to check?

The putty knife I bought recently had an age check sticker on. It was a soft plastic spatula, but you can’t be too careful.

It is odd isn't it

I know one of the processes to remove the alcohol, is to treated under pressure or a vacuum and the alcohol is burnt off without effecting the taste too much. This is why some beers have 'contains less than 0.5% alcohol'

I think you would drown before getting drunk, with the amount you would have to drink.

Although I am sure Bass shandy I had as a child, had more alcohol in.

I guess it is this. It just tickles me, that I need to be checked for basically beer flavoured soft drinks :)

This is my favourite typo for ages.

It looks like it's not a legal requirement but I guess it stops accidental sales of alcoholic drinks, and I imagine there's a certain amount of "not marketing alcohol to minors" as well - probably not a good look to have twelve year olds swigging cans of fake lager outside your shop.

A post-work pint and a magazine in a pub's beer garden and, for a brief moment in the grand scheme of things, all is well.

I'm hoping rain, rather than spill or over-excitement.

I still haven't been in a pub, but have a bench in the local village that catches the sun, and on a good day am down there with book or magazine, and that also feels like the world is okay.

Sale water park and water sports centre.

But it's not really "to" there, it just IS there.

Blimey - I've not been for more than a decade but I looked at the photo and thought "huh, looks like sale water park".

A bit less exciting than the other month when all the mersey flood defenses were full to busting.

My ex-wife used to say "Where's it to?" and this always confused me for the reason I think you're confused here. I wondered if it might have been a Bristolian thing, but apparently not (or not limited to that if it is!)

It's definitely (I'm not H, even though I make that mistake all the time!) a Devon/Cornwall thing, so it sounds like it extends to the whole South West.

Just on a call in Manchester China Town and see this, which is a bit disturbing. In case you can't read it, and I'm not getting any closer to take a better photo in case I get dragged inside, it's "School of Integration."
