I had one of those rope/twine carpets in my first flat I rented after I got my first job, which was next to the pub.
One thing they don't say in the brochure. It's a challenge to clean up vomit.

The flooring in my house is part carpet (bedrooms and living room), part tiled (bathrooms) and part wood (kitchen).

Going barefoot on the hard floors makes my delicate little feet ache a bit, hence the sexy indoors crocs that I wear

Toffein are a good make for comfortable kickabout shoes. They specialise in PPE footwear for the medical profession, so they’re designed to be worn all day with minimum foot ache. They’re quite reasonably priced, as well

If you don't want to risk splurging a bunch on new Vivos (they are pricey), they do 'refurbished' ones for less here: https://www.revivo.com/

Can you wear them barefoot or do you need to wear socks? I find with Toms I always need to wear wee socks since you can wash them easier than you can wash the shoes.

Also what's the sizing like?

Someone else has had their gross feet in them, I'm not sure they'll ever be refurbished enough to go barefoot...

That reminds me, the other thing I was going to ask @Jem is if you ever buy them from the main site because if you do and refer me, we both get 20% off.

I wear them with ankle socks just because my feet are gross and, as you say, it's easier to wash socks (although I've washed my vivos with success!)

Sizing is spot on. Used to size up half a size but they seemed to have 'fixed' that and I can just wear my normal size now. If you're between sizes I'd go for the bigger size though.

I normally buy from the main site - won't let me into my account to see if there's a referral code though :S

These are my faves - got two pairs of these (white / grey):

I think I’ll buy a pair of the loafer style shoes for slippers and if I like them, I’ll get a pair of these or a pair of the boots. So if you get access to a referral code let me know!

I’ve ordered a pair! I’ve been looking for slippers for about a year and had decided on mahabis but my wife accidentally bought the wrong pair at Christmas and I procrastinated for ages about buying them until it got to the time of year again when wool lined slippers don’t seem like a good idea so this is a good alternative. Definitely got my eye on a pair of the slimline boots as well though.

I don’t know why I’ve left this in a carpet thread.

So the moral of this thread is, if you have nice slippers you don't need carpets.

They look good as well, solves the same problem by having a rubber sole. I'm glad you didn't share this earlier or I'd never have made a decision :D

Man I want some Malmoes now. Well, if they weren’t all sold out. That’s some bullshit.

I have removed the carpet. There was, I shit you not, half of the local beach in there.

Floorboards seem ok. Time for some sanding and varnish and a nice rug. Bish bash bosh, pukka

OMG. That is a LOT of sand!! Floor is looking good already. If you do go for wood or laminate floor, try Method wood floor cleaner. It smells heavenly, like marzipan.

Yeah, I'd be sorting them boards out and getting a rug in there. Looks nice!

Yeah, we will sand then down in the week and then treat. I might vacuum again because of sand.

Took two hours to remove staples from that floor. It is boards on boards.

Put the sand back down and get the kids to play on it all weekend. Job done.

Tempted to do the same with the living room, but that depends on quote about the garden office which is now a building project.
