I've been playing co-op Mario Odyssey with Findus the Youngest (4 y/o), which has been kind of perfect because his incompetence can do remarkably little damage as Cappy.

However, we're reaching the end of it now, and looking for a new game we can play together.

I've been sizing up Magicka 2 because:

a) I own it but have never played it
b) it uses a fixed camera; camera controls are something he finds nigh on impossible to handle things like the Lego games.
c) it looks like fun, and by the sounds of it incompetence could be entertaining in co-op

But is it actually just going to be fucking frustrating and I should find something simpler? I don't know how hard the games gets. If so, any recommendations for local co-op games a four-year-old could handle/be carried by the better gamer (ME) would be gratefully received.

Super Mario 3D World sounds like wot you want. 4 player for the campaign and that Bower’s Fury DLC has a 2 player coop with a similar mechanic to hatty, with one player as baby Bowser.

ORLY? I didn't know it had a Cappy-esque mechanic - sold! Thank you!

For no real reason, it's not like it's for a quiz or anything, no honestly!

Let's say you had a question about which band sang these songs, Do you prefer option A or B, or something else?

Option A:
Here are 6 songs, 2 each by Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet 2 by neither of those bands, sort out the songs into the correct category?

A) Club Tropicana
B) Girls on Film
C) Gold
D) Prince Charming
E) Rio
F) True

Option B
Here are 10 songs, please identify which songs are sung by Green Day and which songs are sung by Foo Fighters?

A) All The Small Things
B) American Idiot
C) Basket Case
D) Fat Lip
E) In The End
F) Lifestyles Of The Rich and Famous
G) Monkey Wrench
H) Pretty Fly For A White Guy
I) Sk8er Boi
J) The Pretender

I like option B but only marginally. Option A is still a great way to phrase a question.

I'd change A to:

Here are 6 songs: 2 by Duran Duran, 2 by Spandau Ballet and 2 by neither of those bands. Sort the songs into the correct category.

Option B doesn't have enough info for me. People who don't know the songs will assume there are only two options.

What if B's Question was:
Here are 10 songs, please identify which two songs are sung by Green Day and which two songs are sung by Foo Fighters?

Or if it was made clear that there could be any number of songs sung by either band or neither of them?

My quandry is more the concept

Is it better to have a large list where you have to select things that belong to A or B, or a smaller list where the number of wrong answers are the same as the number of correct answers in each group

So Option A would be out of 6 points whereas Option B would be out of 4 points

How about...

Here is a list of songs, identify the ones by Green Day.
1 point for each correct answer, lose all points if you get an answer wrong.

I did think about that (with or without the points penalty) but the actual topic of the question is nothing to do with songs and it makes more thematic sense to have the 2 categories.

Yeah, my place announced on the Friday, but after 3pm so people had already left and found out on Monday when they sat at their desks. Facepalms like that and worse happen on what feels like a daily basis.

Has anybody here had an MMR as an adult? I was at the doctors yesterday and was told that I needed an MMR (well, two, 3 weeks apart). I was confused as I thought my vaccines were up to date, but she said that the MMR didn’t exist when I was a kid, and everyone is entitled to one but it’s flagged up as a priority on my record as I have an immune system disorder. I’m going to wait until I’ve had my second Covid jab, to give myself time to try and build up the antibodies from those doses, but I hadn’t even realised I’d not had an MMR 8)

Before MMR they were done separately, I have no idea how you would check to see if you had separate Measles, Mumps and Rubella jabs though, my doctor certainly didn't have access to my childhood treatments when I saw them about my knee.

I was the same, Mimi. They had no record of of MMR, even though my parents were 100% sure that I was up to date. Had my first one in February last year. Still waiting on the second

They do actually have record of my childhood jabs (I had a rubella jab in March 1992, but nothing for measles nor mumps).

"Potential entrants must complete an essay on "Why I Should be Allowed to Run in the Barkley," pay a $1.60 application fee, and complete other requirements subject to change. If accepted, an entrant receives a "letter of condolence." Upon arriving, first time Barkley runners, known as virgins, are required to bring a license plate from their state/country as part of the entrance fee."

That's the most normal bit.

I didn't have the MMR because my mum was a proper tinfoil-hatter, but they gave me a rubella jab in hospital after I'd had Izzy - always wondered why they didn't just tell me to book in for the full MMR?

Yeah, well worth watching - the bloke who runs it is a story in himself. It's rare, but not unheard of, that anyone finishes it. And on the last lap, if there's two people, they're sent off in opposite directions. Because after all that, you want to make sure they'll not help each other.

There's so much good stuff - it doesn't even have a fixed start time, so everyone is watching the organiser to see when, I think, he lights up. Might be seconds, might be much longer.
