Ended up playing through it twice. Wonderful little game. Captivating. Strong Dear Esther vibes with much more story and *gasp* even some light gameplay!

Why such a rapid second playthrough? It doesn't have multiple endings does it?

Wonderful game though, really enjoyed my time with it.

Well I installed on the PC through Game Pass and played through it, enjoying all the way. Then, as I'm wont to do, I read about it online and learned it was an easy 1000g completion, but only if you play it on the Xbox.

So I did :D

Mario Kart 8 is a riot of colour and action, it's great fun and the bits where they go up walls or round corkscrews is really exciting. It's a great game that I am _very_ late to.

I have enough controllers for 4-player local splitscreen too. WHEEEEE

I’ll stand on the highest building and snipe guys with my arrows but sometimes I’ll just stand at the front door yelling “Come on, ya cunts” like a pisshead recently tossed out a pub. It’s got a bit easy though since a tooled up ninja mutherfucker is not to be fucked with. Imma take on crowds with bombs, throwing knives, blow darts or sometimes I’ll just pick the biggest guy and give him the old Dance of Wrath.

This game’s fucking great.

(Loving Jin Saki’s voice actor. There’s some real quiet passion and resolve in this role. The rest of the main characters cast are also really great. Especially that nutter Masako who wants to fuck errbody up)

I want to play this mainly because the actress who plays Yuna was a guest on Critical Role and she was so sweet and lovely.

I've been playing some of the Microsoft game apps lately. I was already playing Wordament regularly (mainly in single-player, but the multiplayer aspect is good too) and then tried out their version of Sudoku. Then the other week, they brought out Mahjong too.

Nothing terribly original in any of them, but very well put together, with them all having interfaces that have obviously had plenty of thought put into them. The daily challenges offer some nice variations on the main games as well - plus I think Wordament and Sudoku have Xbox Live achievements.

Started playing Valheim today after a recommendation from a colleague.

It’s a survival simulator with a Norse mythology based plot line, and is in early access.

So far, despite not really enjoying this kind of game historically, I’m having a blast.

Or at least, I was - up until the point that I summoned the first boss and now he keeps murdering me and won’t leave the area, so I can’t get back to my gravesite to pick up my stuff without getting killed again.

Fnnnnngh.

I'm playing Control, it's quite atmospheric and the sound effects are mildly disturbing. The shooty combat is a little bit clunky but I'm enjoying the story.

Cheers, I got past him in the end - I built up another little base near to the first spawn point, then legged it over to grab my grave gear.

He'd gone far enough away that I could just about grab it and leg it back to my new base without him chasing me, so I could tool up and then deal with him.

I still died, but I got back over there, grabbed my stuff again, and then after I knocked him down to about 10% health my bow broke so I had to get in there with my flint axe and finish him off.

Gaz has got me into Valheim and I'm really enjoying it, although I seem to be unfairly targeted by trolls which is making early game life somewhat difficult. :S

Have you trapped him in a hole?

I had one get stuck while trying to cross a river last night, so I killed him, but then had to painstakingly pick the coins he dropped one by one out of the water.

Yup. Dug a pit, covered it with floor, lured him over it and dismantled the floor. Sadly he despawned when the server restarted

Made my first boat in Valheim last week, went exploring, found a village on some meadows, tried to invade, got my ass handed to me by some Draugrs. Respawned a million miles away back at home.

Painstakingly re-mined copper, re-crafted armor/weapons, made a new boat, went all the way back. After picking up shit from my gravestone, I took out a bunch of Draugrs, tried to take the last building in the village only to accidentally drop through the roof right on to a Draugr spawn point where a Draugr Elite was waiting for me - and killed me on the spot. Guess who forgot to create a bed so that I had a nearby spawn point? :'(

Just bought a 2nd hand copy of Dark Souls 3 just to beat my son at playing through it (like I just did with Dark Souls Remastered :D).
He's already defeated Crystal Sage and not sure when my copy will drop so he's a fair way ahead. Not helped him at all with this game! #ProudDad

Playing Kentucky Route Zero on the switch. It’s a point click game with a strange story that’s being revealed as you move through the game. Enjoying it a lot so far. Reminds me very loosely of What Remains of Edith Finch, in that you don’t know what’s going on but have a story told to you as you explore.

Watchdogs Legion: By and large, I have really enjoyed it so far, and am on the last chapter. There's been a few things that have annoyed me along the way though:

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
1) "survive until download completes" with wave after wave of baddies which you have to fight. Skye Larson hemisphere missions, top of Tower Bridge and the London Eye spring to mind. They're just annoying.
2) the fight with Cass at the end of the Albion chapter where you have to solve the puzzle whilst being shot at by him, wave after wave of goons, and drones. Fits with (1)
3) the 'Betray' hack for drones made everything a bit simple.

Cars aren't great, nor the radio stations. Fisticuffs was fun, and felt solid.

The world itself was really good, from the protests, to the goons getting their heads kicked in. Bagley was brilliant.

I started to play the Exclusive Xbox Series S/X Next-Gen game called The Medium.

4K

60 FPS

Ray tracing

HDR

4K Textures

The game starts with you exploring 5 gorgeous fully rendered apartment rooms. As you explore the rooms you discover exquisitely rendered heir looms and photographs of your dead father told through expansive beautiful narrative by a professional voice actor. You need to locate and obtain your father’s tie pin before you leave the apartment. I couldn’t find it. Deleted.

I genuinely love Sat's reviews.

Last game I played was 'Concrete Genie'. It had a nice style and a bit of child-like wonder.

I'm not sure how much longevity is there, but I enjoyed a little bit of brightening up a drab environment.

Dark Souls 3 has just plopped through the door. I think I got through the main game then part way through the DLC first time round.

Now then, which class to go with... Think I might go full on Tank for a change or maybe fast stabby-stabby.

I always think tank is by far the hardest way to play any Dark Souls game. If you haven’t got a stamina bar as long as your arm you’ll never be able to soak up enough hits to get your own swing in. Rolling is so helpful in DS3 I reckon you need a build that accommodates. Some of the builds you can do on DS3 can be so much fun though. Maybe try a poison build with the corvina dagger (I think) and go two-handed. Or what about a no shield/duel sword setup: Slashy in the right and something pokey in the left like a rapier?

Started with Mercenary this time round, twin swords and high Dex. Going fast and slashy x

Might avoid Pyro/Miracles/Sorcery completely... *whimpers*
