Gate is open again, but just Label today:

Also, something I only noticed at the weekend: If you have a Switch Online subscription, you can unlock a Silk Rug that you can then redeem miles for.

I e noticed a couple of things about snowballs today. Firstly, they can spawn in flower beds. I spotted one next to my flower beds, but I could *not* see the other snowball anywhere. I gave up and turned off the game for a while. When I next went on the snowball I’d had earlier was gone and had re-spawned right on the other side of the island, and there I noticed that it’s partner was hiding in the flowers.

So, if you can’t find your balls, check amongst the flowers, and if they’re awkwardly positioned rebooting might help.

I cleared some more bits from my island yesterday and finally got them to spawn (in an area I hadn't cleared :S) I then spent ages rolling the first ball around til it was the right size, got the second ball halfway to size and then accidentally bashed it into a tree. I rage quit at that point. :'(

D’oh. Maybe when you go back they’ll be in your cleared space.

If you talk to your melting snowboys on subsequent days they give you more large snowflakes.

It took all day to get them to spawn there (and I checked flowerbeds etc after my sister tipped me off that she'd had a snowball spawn in a flowerbed) so might just give up on the idea of making snowmen, for the sake of my blood pressure :DD

On that case, if you want anything from the snow boy/frozen set, holler up. I’ve got recipes and flakes and snow, oh my!

@Devilman, Flump is not available for me
I tried on friday I think and got the same (Orville just can't find any islands for me to visit)
but I've visited other islands over the weekend

My Wi-Fi seems a bit patchy lately. A few times last week, I'd get to the end of the day and check on my Switch and it had disconnected at some point. I'm wondering if the Chromecast I bought is interfering with it - I've got an HDMI extension arriving today, so I'm hoping I can nudge the Chromecast out of the way a bit. I've reopened the gate anyway.. fingers crossed it'll stay open!

Thanks, it's not an obligation to be open of course, and last week I just thought I won't bother you and just come over another time
but you putting in the effort to open the gate and then nothing coming off it also seemed meh, so I thought I'd let you know

As a test, I've unplugged the Chromecast altogether and reopened the gate. Hopefully the gate will still be open when I next check it :)

It's fine - it's something I need to get to the bottom of anyway as my Wi-Fi has been a bit flaky for a few days, but only downstairs, so I think there's interference of some kind. Of course it could also be my install of AC that's become messed up again too. I've moved the router a little closer to the Switch, so I'll see if that does anything.. failing that, I might reinstall the game again.

It seems that moving my router did help, although the connection did drop again later in the day. I'll have to see how it goes. :)

Gate is open again and there are a few Christmas trees now. Kicks is also around and Tasha is at the campsite.

It seems that moving my router has helped - Animal Crossing stayed connected all day and my Chromecast didn't misbehave once, so hopefully that's sorted for now.

Gate is open again, although just Gullivarrr today. Turnips are 182 this morning though.

for people like me, who do have snowballs but are having trouble making perfect snowboys
or for people who love adorableness
there is a method of making small perfect snowboys

check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLDSpGQ ... e=youtu.be

Nothing much to report today - just Flick and a crappy turnip price. I quite like the kid's tent in the shop though.

My island isn’t very crowded, but the snowballs in my town do spawn consistently in the same area that is completely clear, so I’d recommend that, Kern.

Does anyone know if it is two snowballs per town, per day, or two for each player (Darwin wants to build a snowman, but I’ve already made one today).

as far as I know there can only be one snowboy per island per day, so he could build it tomorrow, but not today

Thank you. They hasn’t spawned in the usual place, and we’d had a look around but I couldn’t see them elsewhere. I’ll leave them for him tomorrow.

So I feel embarrassed revealing this, but I've only just discovered after eight months of play that you can spring in Animal Crossing by holding down 'B'. 8)

So, anybody else digging all their flowers up because they don't look plausible in a snowy setting? Just me, then?

It's at a time like this I regret using all those fallen leaves decals as well. At least I don't have to start placing them until next Summer. Phew.

Just walk away from your snow ball for 20 seconds and then come back. Do that a few times and one will usually turn up quick enough x

Darwin asked me to make a giant snowboy with a tiny head, so I did that this morning. Absolutely worth doing for the dialogue.

oh god I made a mistake with that, because I measured the body, then went in search for the other snowball
and when I came back I thought the bottom ball looked bigger, and I know dung beetles can be a pest with that, but it was in the right place so I thought I was imagining things
so I put the head on and OMG he said "really? is this the head you are going with?" the imperfect ones are so super snarky :DD
