HOW TO MAKE A NICE PIZZA
by Grim... (aged 42 and a couple of weeks)

1. Cut a big hole in a bigger bit of wood

Attachment:
IMG_20200614_154430_1.jpg

2. Stuff an exercise ball into the hole, and build a little roof leading away from it. Make it 60% of the height of the ball!

3. Cover the lot with a 7:1 mix of vermiculite and cement, with some water to bind it up. Don't make it too sloppy!

4. Weld up a quick table from box section.

5. Take your finished table and make a buttery biscuit (vermiculite) base!

Attachment:

6. Glue the two bits together.

Attachment:

7. Paint it white (the less successful Stones song)

Attachment:

8. Make a fire in it, and sling a pizza nearby.

That is extremely awesome. And the 'How To' is also awesome.

Also, have you shrunk, you look slimmer. Could be the angle and the size of the pizza oven, mind.

@goddess Jasmine or anyone else that has refitted a bathroom.

Where is a good online place to buy the bath, toilet etc.

I am looking at Victorian Plumbing or better bathrooms. Is there an alternative?

Big Boy Barry of Games world fame has nothing but bad things to say about Victorian Plumbing so I'd avoid them based on that fact alone.

We bought our bathtub from victoriaplum. No real complaints, other than their delivery driver getting stuck at the road closure at The Lloyds (the one where the cops were searching for evidence related to that murder recently) and refusing to take the detour to get the package to us.

Got it sorted in the end and had our delivery fee refunded with no issue.

We’ve got a Grohë shower with Armitage Shanks sink, toilet and bath. Very sturdy.

I've never bought from better bathrooms, but was on there earlier today having a nosey funnily enough. We have a shower room to kit out soon.

I've not heard good things about Victoria Plumb either which is a shame as they have some nice stuff. I ordered a toilet from there for a rental property and they sent it here instead. An elderly chap ended up taking it in for us when the tenants had been waiting in all day, then I had to get it over to Stoke as I had a plumber booked in to fit it. Grr.

It depends on what you want really, when we wanted to modernise the bathroom in our old house, we just bought the £250 suite from B&Q. But we knew we weren't staying there.

More commonly I've ordered bits off eBay. Particularly extras like shower screens etc. I've seen the vanity unit you like on there for £50 cheaper delivered.

I think I'll be ordering most stuff for the shower room from there too, depends on if you're happy to put your own set together really.

I'm considering using panels rather than tiles around the shower in there, I'd be interested to know if anybody has any experience of these. From what I can make out they stay nice is you clean them with the correct cleaner and full if you use an abrasive cleaner.

Tempted to buy it and get a fitter to put it in.

That toilet looks very modern, but beyond the looks could it be a bit angular? I’m just thinking 90° angles on a bare bum might not be the most comfortable, and the practicalities of trying to find a replacement loo seat should you ever need to.

You should probably get a toilet with a bum gun, Kov. If we're about to go into another lockdown then TP may be in short supply ;)

We've got a square one Meems and it's fine, they aren't actually pointy or anything. The replacement seats are easy enough to grab from eBay if/when needed.

Ph, that’s good to hear. A local friend has what she calls an ‘odd shaped toilet’ and ended up paying nearly £200 for a replacement seat. I have never seen her loo so I’m not sure in what way it is odd :D

Yeah, in Manchester we had a groehe bog that was square and the soft close failed - that would've been £180 if it wasn't under warranty.

Today I replaced an ancient (and possibly dangerous) electric hob with a shiny new ceramic version. It'll be nice to have more than 2 working rings

I painted the "dining room" yesterday, although it's been my son's living room since he moved back in with us after his marriage went to ordure, but he seems to have moved out again now and I finally got my arse in gear and repainted the walls in exactly the same colour as they already were. Those of you who attend the Chewsday Night Beex Quiz will be familiar with it.

The paint was a free gift from our neighbours, who moved out a few months ago and gave us a few unopened tins of paint they'd never used.
