So many boring flower recipes! :D The Wistful painting was a fake again. Mr Blathers wouldn't even look at it.

are you sure you don't already have a Wistful and that is why he keeps refusing?
As I made a point of going through my Blaters and he didnt call fake
if it was fake he would have looked at it and gone into a tizzy

Gate is, er, not open today. When I went to the Switch yesterday evening, the game had crashed, which I figured was a one-off. This morning, about ten seconds after I open my gate, the game crashes. Tried it twice so far, but same result each time. I might try restarting the Switch completely later and see if that helps.

Hmm I restarted the console and still the same result. It's consistent too - within ten seconds of the gate opening, it crashes.

any particular error message?
as it happens when you open the gate it seems in internet issue?
a stream I was going to watch got delayed because of NAT type D error and he apparently fixed that before by rebooting the router
he did fix it in the end, but at the end of he stream as he was arriving back at his own airport it ended abruptly in a communications error

if I hear you correctly the game is ok as long as you dont open the gate, that is at least something for now

Just the standard 'The Software Was Closed Because An Error Occurred' message. I'll try restarting my router at lunch or after work and see if it that helps. Failing that, I might have to reinstall the game possibly.

do you have the save data on?
if not might be worth turning it on and run the game with the gate closed for a while so it can back up the island

I thought I'd see what happens if I try to open the gate without an internet connection available, expecting it to fail gracefully with an error, but nope.. crashes too. After restarting the router, still crashes, so I'm thinking the game is corrupt on the memory card.. or Flump itself is messed up somehow.

Oh! I thought you meant it was crashing as you opened the game or fired up the switch. I’m glad it isn’t that, at least.

No, purely gate-opening it seems. I was able to send a letter fine last night so it can do some internet-related stuff, so maybe it's to do with that small system update from last week.

Can you visit someone else? Darwin is watching cartoons at the moment (he’s home ill) but if he finds another distraction later I’ll open my gate to see if you can pop over.

I can try that later, but it'll be after 5:30 now as I suppose I should be doing some work :D

Better late than never - gate is open :)

https://twitter.com/underlogic_sw/statu ... 0185054208

I deleted the game at lunch and let it redownload this afternoon and that seems to have sorted it. Didn't need the cloud backup in the end as deleting the game doesn't touch the saved games anyway. :)

yeah the save game is for if this would not have worked, but I believe it is not as easy as simply restoring

Yep, all working fine now.

Gate is open again although I forgot to do the tweet part. Nothing special to report though - just Label and an awful turnip price. :)

Bit of a rush job this morning, so I don't know who the visitor is today (it isn't Redd though), but the gate is open.

I think I have a couple of train sets, will take a look when I pop back on.

Devilman - a couple of days ago your shop had what looked like a hazardous waste container in the shop - don't suppose you have that catalogued do you? I meant to pop over and buy it but totally forgot. Would look awesome in my little 'area 51' spot.

Left the Spring trainset at the centre of DM's Maze @romanista !

Jem, if you've got the summer set I'd be grovellingly grateful.

Gate is open although the connection dropped pretty quickly the first time so I don't know how stable it'll be today.

Morning turnip price is 148 if anyone still has any to shift.

Ive read speculation that they are saving Brewster for next year, because now they can do halloween stuff and then they can do more christmas stuff and then after christmas there is no big event until easter (shudder) so they might plan Brewster for then

Gate is open, although turnips are only 108 today. The 260k piano is in the shop though.
