We're going camping at the end of the month. With my recent camping weather luck, I'm taking no chances. I will be warm.

A ZipStik. I already have one, but I don't want to destroy that with the project I have in mind, which brings me neatly on to...

An Adafruit Feather 32u4 Bluefruit LE.

I haven't done any kind of electronics work since I was at secondary school (well, if you exclude splicing wires into car entertainment systems and stuff) but I'm going to have a crack at turning this ZipStik into a Bluetooth joystick, so I can use it on my RetroPie without having to trail the cable across the living room.

What could go wrong?!

The Pandora's Box DX that I ordered from Aliexpress arrived today and with no import duty too, which is nice. The HDMI image is rather jumpy, which might be down to my cheap TV, but at least VGA is good:

Now I just need to browse the rather long list of games and see what is playing. These later versions have MD/SNES/PS1 games too, but I'll stick with the arcade stuff for now.

It's one of the first games I look for on these things :D Interestingly, there are a lot more driving games and other games that would benefit from analogue control, so I'm going to have to see how good the USB support is for other controllers.

More arcade stuff. This time a (bootleg) Shinobi arcade board. Wasn't expecting it to be quite so big (included the Master System version for comparison) so I'm not quite sure where I'm going to store it yet.

Went out (like, actually outside) the other week, but discovered my camera has decided it would prefer not to work anymore.

Considered an exact replacement, but then managed to feature-creep my way up the line a bit.

A new FHD IPS panel for my ThinkPad X240, which will take it from 1366x768 to full 1920x1080.

And a trackpad from an X250, which is (apparently) a drop in replacement, and has three actual buttons compared to the shite trackpad on the X240.

Sony WH-1000XM3

Amazon are currently knocking them out for £244 (reduced from £330). I felt like a bit of a twat spending that much on a pair of headphones, but five minutes wearing them and I was satisfied they were worth every penny.

The noise cancelling is eerily good, they go plenty loud without any distortion with wonderful sound quality across all music genres, the app is slick and everything about them behaves itself perfectly.

They are basically just for use with a phone though, (which I knew before I bought them), you can't do much with them without the app and Bluetooth pairing, although there is a 3.5mm connector if you wish to go down that route.

They're under £230 now which is getting to justifiable... But the xm4 is out and apparently is significantly better again at noise cancelling. Also the XM3 don't really sit too comfortably on my head, sounds like the bigger cups on the new ones will help. But of course the new ones are £349 which is just stupid!
