Sat, itsallwater (remember him!) and I have been playIng it for the past few Fridays. You’re welcome to join!

If you see me on send me an invite, I've played much more warzone than normal MP. Managed 9 wins so far.

Sounds good, typically online after the kids are in bed so around 8pm and it will be one or the other of us who are actually playing.

Sounds cool both! Sadly it’s four max so if we get 5 or more we’ll have to play regular MP.

That’s fine with me, this is the first CoD since MW2 that’s felt like the good old days. BT Openreach have just spent all morning doing something outside my house to get my fibre ready so soon I won’t even complain about my connection!

It’s great we can all play together again. We’ve not all had the same gaming systems since the 360 so cross play is most welcome!

So numbers wise

Solo - you can play anything
2 players - anything apart from Campaign / solo challenges / multiplayer free-for-all (note it will keep putting Free for all into your playlists after major updates and make you remove it when you party up)
3 players - As above + Gunfight 2v2 The new 3vs3 game mode for Isle 9 would be a good choice for 3
4 players - As above + Cleanup on Isle 9 + Gunfight 3v3- its also the max for the various co-op mission modes
5 players - As above + the co-op modes + gunfight 4v4 + Warzone There is often a 5v5 moshpit mode which recently has either been shoot the ship (shipment and shoothouse on rotation) or dirty old houseboat (shipment / shoothouse / rust on rotation)
6 players - As above + the 5v5 mode
7 players - only private games and groundwar - despite there being multiple 10v10 game modes (domination / team deathmatch and twice they have had 10v10 modes on shipment only which is chaos "COD Players only want one thing and its disgusting")

Remember that crossplay chat is done within the game party, not the party system on your platform, so in order to not have a clusterfuck of shitbastards pooping up your earholes make sure you set your voice chat settings like so:

CoDchat.png

edit - I almost forgot you need to enable crossplay as well!

Do we have a list of fish clan tags so I don’t embarrassingly choose one that’s already taken? Also someone needs to invite me to the regiment.

I tried to remember what ones were chosen before :

TUNA = Curio
DORY = Cookie
BABL = Me

Someone had a fishy book and would occasionally give some names out of it (Bobby?)

Was it just to look like a clan but in a different way?

I went through a while of just having it on when i was playing in case there was some great play or move (or to see what gun was used in a final killcam) but one of the more recent updates broke things so it was off for a while

I only reset it all up a few days ago - however normally as we're all in a party there is no audio other than the in game stuff but since we were doing cross play yesterday its got all the conversations on there - if thats a problem for anyone message me and i'll delete them

Think I’ve solved the weirdly inconsistent, stuttery, treacley control issues. When it downloaded the rest of the game it changed to fullscreen borderless with a weird resolution and frame rate cap. I’ve changed it to fullscreen, native resolution and 100fps max and it seems fine now.

I used Nickachu’s fix and that seemed to resolve it but by the end of the session last night it was doing it again, to a lesser degree.

I’m still shit, but content in the knowledge it’s down to my lack of skill and reactions than a technical fault.

Anyone who had ‘less than a week’ in the pool for how long it would take from me first playing modern warfare to buying a second console, you can collect your winnings now.

Got rid of it ages ago because I never played it and reasoned that if we ever wanted to both play the same game, we wouldn’t be able to with that anyway since no games are cross platform. :roll:

Yes, but of a tactical error lol. Luckily we still have two sets of the PX5 headset so I should have a decent headset to play with.

Steve, the absolute genius, suggested we do a console transfer to avoid going through the three day’s worth of downloading and updating we’d need to do to get it ready to play so we followed the instructions he linked me to and it was setup and running in an hour! The longest part was the hour or so afterwards when I was trying to remember my PayPal password, PSN login and Activision details.

I was trying to use the app to see who was online and it wouldn’t connect. Perhaps the game is unaffected.

Discovered last night that the spare set of PX5s we had aren’t in as good nick as the pair Jen is using. The headband and cups are really creaky and the audio was constantly cutting out for micro seconds so enough to be distracting and sometimes miss what people were saying.

Ordered myself a new set which are hopefully arriving today; Razer Kraken Tournament Edition. They sound like the 2020 equivalent to the PX5s and are less than £100. Has anybody got them?
