Can you complete it the Owl in it in 22 minutes? No? Thought not.

He doesn’t fight Owl the 2nd time in Hirata (which I can’t do) cause he does the short ending. In fact, he doesn’t even fight Owl at all, which I can do. Oh nerr.

Still No. 1 gaymer.

Only took 13 minutes.

I was trying a cheese method from Youtube but the attack is so slow to come out and Owl darts about so much I couldn’t get it to connect for 95% of the time. Mind you, he died, so fuck that guy.

I reckon I could probably take him normally now anyway and in about a third of the time...

All mini-bosses and optional bosses deadid. Turns out I didn’t even need to do Owl for the ending I was going for. Tch.

All Schimen Priest what’s its deadid.

All headless deadid.

Bodged one quest up but it allowed me to do another quest instead. Missed about two different endings to two separate quests but they weren’t much to write home about. Well, apart from the guy who gives you a shop discount...gutted about that one.

Rinsed every area but somehow missed 4 prayer beads.

Haven’t fully upgraded a single prosthetic due to money worries.

Completed one set of ninja skills, didn’t get very far on the others but hardly used any special moves apart from the mortal blade. Got a few important latent skills, mind. Found all the textbooks for all the skill trees.

I’m happy with my progress throughout. Lord knows how long I’ve been playing it but it must be well over 50 hours now. It’s been awesome. And frustrating in part. Fountainhead Palace was fucking aces though. Loved that area.

Really? All I've heard is that the combat system is the most punishing they've ever come up with and so, despite the stealth and quick traversing, it's by far their hardest game.

Ah, turns out it’s in the “load” menu of all places. Tch. - I’ve got 59 hours and 9 mins clocked in.

What you’ve heard was correct.

Mind you, like DS&BB, you can always run by most enemies who aren’t bosses if they’re pissing you off to crack on with the rest of the game. Not me though, I’ve killed everyone I’ve met at least once ... apart from 3 nightjar ninja in one corridor beneath the Owl fight. I meant to go back and slice em up but forgot about it until it was too late. They were the hardest fuckers in the entire game.

It’s just the bosses for the most part that are the cunts of the game because everything else can be approached in multiple ways. There’s even this mechanic later in the game where you can get two opposing groups to fight each other and just sit back and fight the winner or try and wear them both down, which was new for Souls games. But you can also use a puppeteer power where if you backstab someone they fight for you for a short while before dying. You can send them off to scrap or act as diversions while you hide at a safe distance and it’s great. There’s loads to help you out and it makes it one of the most fun Souls games to nob about in. But there’s so many bosses and mini bosses that it gets real serious real quickly. Without the coop mechanic to have strangers come and help you out I can easily see your casual gamer not seeing most of Sekiro, which is a real shame.

Final boss is decidedly less cunty than Owl. Still a pain in the arse which I’ve been butting heads with for a couple of hours but he’s definitely doable. Even with his FOUR SODDING PHASES.

I may play this. one day. IF its a PSN Plus game. And the other games are shit.

Otherwise, nah. not interested.

Also it is clearly not a Soulsborne game as it lacks several key features of those games. It is a harder Tenchu.

I'm pretty poor at it, thus far. Still figuring it out. (that being my second session, and the first I was so very jetlagged I don't really recall much of it at all)

It is quite fun, though.

Alas, No whips. But a cool grapply rope which is a bit whip like.

Well, 9 months later, and I've finally beat the first proper boss. (Only reached it today too, only took 4 or so attempts)

At this rate I might be done by 2030.

Some videos of me being marginally less incompetent

Really not sure why this was seen as a major roadblock. Seems to be easily defeated by running to the side.
------

This person though, was a right arse to beat. Until I gave up trying to be skillful and just mashed the block button.
------

This one, though, I beat first time (having run away the first time I encountered them due to not wanting to lose accrued stuff). I was quite fortunate, it seems, to have the poison sword equipped having just upgraded it and wanting to try it, as it seems to work very well on this person. Indeed, this seems to be the ONLY person it's effective on. Wasn't effective on his brother though.

Still waiting on the WHIP playthrough.

I wasn't prepared.

Then I fought this bugger.

Groovy

Also done the following

Didn't much like this one. Far too easy to lose progress if you can't damage him. The custom animation and death scream if you knock him off the side amused me though. Nice touch.

I don't want to know how many attempts I ad on this guy. The way you get pushed away on the spear stompy counter was frustrating

These might as well just not be there. Piss easy.

again, not too hard. Think this was second attempt. Got the drop on her this time. Poorly.

Second attempt

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!

Thought I was stuffed on second phase as I didn't seem to be doing any damage at all and burning through my heals. And I completely forgot my set him on fire lots plan. Fortunately, the third phase isn't as bad when you're not caught off guard.

Then met some monkeys, no bothering to upload that as its a whole load of talking and some running around. with little happening.

Now I've reached two things, a monk who I've got close to defeating every time, but ultimately failed about 5 times. And a hulking great ape who I have yet to figure out at all.

and then there is a 7 faced warrior lurking around who seems quite bastardly.

Ok, so monk killed next time. Still always getting the danger attacks wrong, but not enough to kill me this time. So monk dead.

Next try at the monkey, and he was a little more manageable, but used up most of my health getting him to 50% health as he's so damn fast and offers very little time to attack. At which point it gets easier as he starts doing a jumping danger move that is easy to avoid, and offers a long time to punish. So he's dead... Just as well as I was down to only rice and a resurrect as heals.

And the bugger comes back to life. Of course he does.

Seems quite a bit easier though. You can fairly easily deflect him now, and doing so offers much opportunity to attack him

I died. I'd like to blame not enough health, but he did a new move about halfway through and I thought I could get some hits in. At which point I'm too close to escape from the scream. In truth I was to close to tell he was even going to scream.

Maybe tomorrow

Loaded it up this morning, went to go and get more OP rice for monkey fight, and the bugger giving it out disappeared. Found her and now she wants two snake dicks. Also gave me more rice, but no I'm worried about it being a limited resource. And while I think I know where one of the snake dicks is, I couldn't figure out how to get past the snake guarding it. Guess it;s time to more fully explore

Found one of the merchants telling me about a kite and how he'd like the man standing next to it to raise it up. I made this wish a relaity and hey, first snake dick acquired. Head back to snake cave expecting no snake. Alas, still snake. But the solution to the first snake leads to the solution to the second, so two snake dicks acquired.

Beat the monkey next time around. Found him again later, seemed much easier the second time. Even with the (not that) surprise entry of a second monkey.

Also beat the 7 faced warrior I'd found earlier. He was not a fun fight. At all. Game not suited to bullet hell. And another ogre. Piece of piss. And another couple of annoying kicky men. First one (Under the owl) went down easy enough, but the second... He kept causing me issues. Until he seemed to bug out and offer no resistance... Not my proudest kill, but I'll take it.

Now at the owl. What a dick.

I wonder what happened there. That poison guy gave me loads of jip and took multiple attempts.

Monkey fight 1 is my highlight of the entire game though. It seems insurmountable at first and he’s fast as fuck and has some annoying AoE moves but when you learn him he’s a piece of piss. And then stage 2 happens. Such a good fight. Monkey fight 2 is disappointingly recycled with none of the grandeur of the first fight. The arena is just a fucking empty cave. Tch.

Owl can eat a dick.

That was about the 7th attempt, I'd guess. I'm guessing I managed to push him out of his area and the AI didn't cope.

Owl can, indeed, eat a dick.He seems to be able to teleport over the entire arena such is his speedand getting up close just leads to almost immediate overwhelmingSure I'll figure out something only for the second phase to be even more bastardly (Not aways the case, monkey 2 were much easier) and then find he has a third phase, just to spite me.

Indeed. I think that were second attempt today, after about 3 last night. After it became obvious that keeping distance didn't work, getting in and deflecting didn't work , tried the dodge toward thing you see there, which went ok, except the art i had equipped the previous two times seemed to roll me into his anti heal bomb. So swapped that out and rolled through both phases.

Then monk took two attempts (so near on the first, only needed about two more hits, but ran out of heals and the bugger hit me as i were ricin' it up. Second attempt was no problem at all.

Currently in such a pretty area.

So, when I met him again, and he set horrible dogs upon me, I decided to try to see if I could get the same behaviour...

Turns out yes I could. Enjoy the fishes.

Then killed his chum...

And finally killed this spear bastard

What a git

Now all that remains to do is the Owl. I'm currently sitting outside his room not much wanting to go in.

Owl can now stop eating dicks. Because he is dead. Again.

Was only meant to be a small attempt to see how close I could get without triggering his start, so to apply buffs. Which, as one might see in earlier attempts (on youtube shortly), are quite effective. But somewhere along the line I just got the timing down and stopped taking damage so...

So it turns out they've released a patch for this.

Which among other things introduces a new fight against owl father, which is even harder with surprise new attacks.

I think Satsuma needs to beat him if he wants to be No. 1 gaymer.
