Voted. Now in the pub. It's what Hogarth would have wanted.

What's the drinking game tonight? One finger if you like a constituency result, two if you don't?

In the first time in my adult life my vote actually might count for something. We’re in Chris Leslie’s safe Labour seat, but obviously he’s upped and gone to TIGfC (so snappy) so we could see him defeated by Labour, or not. Will be interesting.

Right now, I'm trying not to get too involved in an argument with a close friend who's a big fan of Brexit and Johnson over Whatsapp. I'd normally let him have his moment but not tonight. This is the end of the UK, both as an economic and world power, and as a union of nations.

I was gutted in June 2016. Broke down in tears at railway station. But even then I thought that I could see a way through, that we could mitigate the worst of it.
I don't feel that way tonight. I feel cold. Stunned. Confused. I just don't get it.

Sorry if over the next few hours/days I rant a lot.

Looking for the positives. I've had to switch to ITV because of Patel, but in so doing I'm reminded of my mild crush on Tom Bradby.

I read that as Tom Brady and was like "yeah, I see that"

*googles* Oh. My.

Trying to find some political levity, and it's just occurred to me that the infamous 1983 Labour manifesto included a pledge to leave the EEC (as then was). So Corbyn might achieve something Foot couldn't, without even being in power.

Oh other news I just heard is that a vulnerable person that my (Labour councillor) mum spends a lot of time supporting, who had been told they would not get another PIP assessment, has just been scheduled one for Christmas Eve.

He's panicking because he thinks he won't be able to get there on Christmas eve because of the reduced public transport service in effect.

It seems that the sole reason people pay attention to the North East is to see if they get the first result. That's all the attention they'll get for another five years.

Not looking good for my area according to the forecast. It's been Labour here for as long as I can remember but I guess the mass of Leave voters saw their opportunity to push Brexit through this way.

Every time I switch to BBC1, a little box pops up saying I could press the green button to see from the start. Just so I could re-live that brief moment of hope followed by crushing despair again and again. Thanks, BBC.
