No and no. I didn't figure anyone else would be as noobish as me, but cheers I'll read through later.

Yeah tbh it's quite a deep thing to get into. I didn't realise you had to have a camera, but thankfully worked it out and scored a used one with a tiny bit of paint on the cable (you won't see it when it's set up) for £17.

If it's as good or better than my OR DK2 I'll be a happy boy. Resi Evil 7 looks pant shittingly scary so hey, at the price I paid it could be worth it just for that :)

No matter how many times I've seen that film, I'll still laugh when Ted adds "Dude!" :D

And "Woah, three aces!".

I’ve been playing Astro Bot after I got it in a sale for, like, a tenner or something.

It’s amazing.

It is, without a doubt, Mario VR if Ninty had a VR machine. It’s just filled with fun and that’s as high praise as I could possibly give it.

I'd never heard of that but just looked it up and it looks brilliant. Playformers work very well in VR. I liked Lucky's Take on my DK2 it was probably one of the best parts.

Cheers I shall grab that when I can :)

I haven't heard of anyone, including myself, that had played Astro Not and not thought that it was a genuinely incredible piece of work. Properly brilliant stuff.

Wicked. Sounds like the killer app that makes it worth spending £130 or so. What's nicer is I never even knew about it. I so love platform games and Lucky's Tale was a bit of a tease for me. I mean sure it was ok but it made me wish you could have a top quality title like Mario in VR.

I’ve just spent a good 10/15 minutes nobbing around in the spaceship buying gachapon, just looking at my winnings and playing with my little toy robos.

It felt as playful as the Mui Mui house in Loco Roco.

Someone made this for us so we could be children again. Fuck yeah.

I love me a good beach level...yay!

I hate me an underwater level...grrrrr.

Astro Bot transitions one into the other beautifully though ... and vica versa too!

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!

When he asked for a list of games Astro was second in the list Findus provided, so I wouldn't hold out much hope.

I started to read the thread and after two pages realised it was mostly banter and "in jokes" most of which I didn't get. I didn't fancy trawling through 18 pages, just to find out what small handful of games were best.

Just finished world 2 on Astro Bot.

Bloody loved the rail cart bit. Weeeeewweeweewewewweee.

Weirdly I thought the world 2 looked exactly like one of Mario’s enemies plus it was so Mario-esq that I could easily confuse myself playing Mario VR. It was still super cute and fun to fight, especially against this volcano backdrop. The water you can spurt out your controller is brilliant fun too and looked ace.

Spurt into your own face. Receive trophy.

Dammit the whole game is fucking great.

The very first response to your very first post on this thread was a list of recommendations that included Astro Bot. And, as he said right there, you didn't even bother reading Grim's response which pointed that same thing out. If you're not even going to bother reading a single fucking thing that's addressed directly to you then why should anyone bother engaging with you at all? You really are an arsehole sometimes John.

Because most of what's put to me on this forum is usually spiteful or nasty. So I tend to like, ignore some of it and some people here. Or it's jokes I totally don't get.

I did see that list but it's amazing what a small description can do.

Ask for suggestions.
Get told read 18 pages.
Start to, get confused.
I didn't get uppity I just pointed out that I had tried to read the thread after numerous posts telling me to do so.

I've obviously missed a couple of posts. Hardly surprising given how all over the place I am right now.

Meaning both mentally and the fact I'm home/away a lot because I need to be watched. It's not easy changing all of your meds after 8 years. Or rather, removing two completely and having to go through withdrawal and learn to cope without them again.

You'd be amazed at what sort of shit my brain is back to doing having been dormant for 8 years. Like not being able to focus, wanting to do other things and jumping to them and so on.

I missed things enough before, now it's even worse.

But no, I'm just an arsehole. Yeah that's for sure the reason.

In your opinion I'm an arsehole because I missed a post or two and got confused. I see. Maybe it's because I've been seeing and hearing things for over a week?

https://youtu.be/kMxGsO_HW3c

He was on 1/4 the amount I was taking and he isn't coming off of Seroquel either.

Maybe I'm an arsehole because I'd appreciate if people took five minutes to try and understand me. Believe me, I spend my entire life trying to understand others yet I'm an arsehole.

Fact is you have no patience grim. Absolutely none. And it's pretty much the vibe here only you have the least. And that is why I ignore a lot of your posts. It's nothing personal or me being an arsehole I just don't like being continually battered emotionally by people who don't understand me.

Try some patience and some tolerance. Understand that I'm not like you, nor does my brain work like yours.

Respectfully, JC, if you're having complications, maybe VR isn't the best thing for you to be doing right now. It messes with your perception at the best of times and can fuck me up for days if I catch some motion sickness

Yeah I'm not about to rush to get it set up. I do need to test it though.

Will order a couple of the suggested games later. Astro being the first.

Got Astro and Doom VFR. That ought to do it for now given I've already got RE Biohazard. Might get batman still though.

Note that Batman is more of an experience than a proper game, but it looks brilliant and it's a hell of a showcase for VR in my opinion.

Yeah I heard that also. TBH I kinda prefer the experience side of if rather than the gaming. I don't do a lot of things because of fear and or anxiety, so going on a virtual roller coaster was awesome with the DK2. I did nearly chunder, mind.

Good thing is I bought this tidy/stand for the DK2 that should be great for this also.

Oh, and it's also worth noting that it make very good use of the Move controllers (hence why it's such a good showcase) so it's possible it'll lose much of it's effectiveness without them.

Just has a couple of great moments on Astro Bot but this was immense:

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
You’ve got a big flower in front of you. Seeds all over his big flowery face ready to be spread on the airwaves. Normally you just head butted stuff but this flower avoids your efforts.

So you blow. In real life. And it fucking works! Seeds burst into the air. Honest to god, I did not know that PSVR could do this. It blew (ho ho) my mind.

Also, one of the tunes sounds like it has a few notes from the theme tune of My Neighbour. Bloody love it.

I can’t figure out how it did the blowing thing. There’s no mic on the front of the unit...there’s a speaker but it’s in an odd position and wouldn’t pick up wind resistance. I had a pair of old iPhone headphones plugged in too, so I doubt it would pick up the voice.

Hang on, did I make this all up!? Maybe I did head butt it accidentally just as I was blowing. Man alive...

That vent at the front must be a mic then - like, why would it have a speaker, it doesn’t ever make any noise.

Anyhoo, it was a reet cool moment.
