Ooh, quite possibly.

Some progress with the machine gun post - just need to add the camo netting on the roof when the rickety frame dries....

Those turned out very nice - a literal turd polish there!

I do love Tau - I keep wanting to buy some but I have a massive pile of unpainted stuff already and I don't own WH40k :)

Next little mini project is an ammo dump. It’s a little off scale I think, but mostly works. Base needs completing.

Current WIP (badly photographed) is a set of stone walls that I sort of wish I hadn't started (the amount of bloody lines I had to score into the styrofoam drove me mad, and then realised I needed a bunch more)

I started on the next batch of Tau last night... 5 warriors, 7 drones and two more battle suits.

Those drones look great with lemon piping! I've got about 5,000 points of T'au knocking around that I was supposed to paint up as Vior'la, but time time time.

Have you got a Shieldline? They can be so unfair it starts being funny.

No shield line*, just my sons Start Collecting Box set.

He built them then were left for ages after I primed them so I've started chipping away at them for him. Very therapeutic to paint :)

Got lucky on eBay and have 4 new Contrast paints heading my way for £12!

Not tried them before but look great from what I've seen.

Are they the magic ones that highlight and shade for you as you paint?

Yeah, kind of. They pool like washes in the recesses but cover flat areas better than a wash. So more of a paint + shade rather than highlight.

The experiments I did with is over undercoat were underwhelming at best. It pools in pooling places where pools aren't wanted to pool. Pool. Through an airbrush I got a decent base for my Alpharius, so I think I'll keep them for that purpose.

I vaguely remember reading that the undercoat had quite an effect on how well the Contrast paints work. Hence their special undercoat being horribly expensive...
