I’ve got this feeling of deja vue......... Boris gets what he supposedly wants (the referendum result to leave/to be PM) and then he’s going to fuck off and leave someone else to deal with the mess left behind.

He’s just ticked off two items on his bucket list.

We appear to have woken up in a universe where Ken Clarke isn't a Tory.

This just looks so dodgy - it passed because no one counted the votes and it should have failed - some trickery afoot ?

How can we have a system of government where if you don't count the votes it is counted as 0! What the actual fuck?

Votey-time.

Remember, 433 to win. Pay attention to who actually votes, and who's gone for a quick half in the bar.

Hey, Johnson won a vote with 242 majority!

Shame he still fell short by around 135. Even when he wins, he loses.

Went to the supermarket last night and every single size of every single UHT semi skimmed milk had been bought.

Seems some people have started stockpiling already.

That, or mali's in charge of the milk supply chain now ;)

I have relatives who NEVER buy fresh milk, and only have UHT on everything, day-to-day. On cereal, in tea, everything.

I don't really know how supermarket logistics work, but I bet it doesn't need a particular shift in buying patterns for shelves to start running bare. If everyone starts chucking a couple of pints of UHT and some spam and whatever in their trolleys, stuff will sell out quickly and then it might snowball.

Remember when you couldn’t buy Smirnoff Ice in the Sinfin Asda for love nor money due to them being cleared out for icing purposes? I miss those simpler times.

We usually only use fresh milk, but this past couple of years, but this year especially, I’ve developed a chronic illness which means I often can’t get out to the shops, so on occasion when I’m very ill and Russell needs to be here to be with me, or if he’s away, we like to keep one in the cupboard for emergencies. And I like to give Darwin a little milk each day as he’s still in his toddler years. It’s not something we’d choose over fresh, but there are occasions when it’s our only option.

We switched to Semi Skimmed UHT gradually (thanks to the kids caning through gallons of fresh stuff and needing a mini stock pile) and I can't tell any difference nowadays.

I think it tastes slightly sweeter, which is the thing I don’t like about it. Fresh/long life soya milk has exactly the same difference.

We’ve pretty much stopped drinking cow’s milk altogether now. We’ve switched to oat/almond/rice milk.

I thought I'd only ever had UHT when I was in hotel rooms, I thought this was just normal. Turns out I was wrong but I still maintain standard milk (semi-skimmed) > skimmed milk > UHT semi-skimmed > UHT skimmed I can't even imagine.

By everything I have read, oat milk is probably the most enviromentatlly sustainable too.

And me. I'm not really a milk drinker anyway and was just having it in my porridge, but after my rotten cold over the summer I seem to have finally picked up the family's lactose intolerance. Tiny bit of milk and I'm farting for England now.

Just got to fart my 'whey' through 2 x 5kg bags of protein shake first :S

When you do run out you should try Form. I’ve been using it for six months and is plant-based, but also actually decent. Not cheap though.

I don’t drink cows milk either, but Darwin does, and Russell will have it in tea and cereal. I’m glad alternatives are easier to come by, now.

I've got some chocolate soy stuff from myprotein which is really nice, but I don't want to waste the other stuff. Food waste bothers me more than farts. (Gaz might disagree.)

This thread should be closed, now.

It’s run its course of true British values. Started with despair, ended with a cup of tea.

It's a good fit for the needlessly-divisive referendums thread.
