I thought it’d be nice to have a thread for funny little website snippets and wikipaedia entries that make an interesting bit of reading for a slow afternoon.

Things like: Potoooooooo

Indeed, good thread. Not of the same calibre but:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eunice_Huthart

She frequently doubles for Angelina Jolie (and is godmother to her daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt),[4] most recently in Salt.

One of my favourite things to read about (and I’ve posted about it in various places before, so you may have already seen this) is The Vegetable Lamb Of Tartary

I've played the Dads Army one (my uncle used to have it) I seem to remember it being quite fun (remember this would have been 35 + years ago) - with you having to defuse bombs that blocked areas around the map - yes there was swastika pieces and i think if you flipped them over they were British flags on the reverse.

All very vague but I also think one of the cards was an air raid and you had to all then move to a shelter.....

In other politically incorrect games the other one he had that I remember was the battle of the little big horn - basically a group of cowboys in the middle trying to survive while being overrun with indians

I love this story. Whenever I feel that this country is an utter shitshow that couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery, which is often, it’s good to remind myself that even the best countries can still monumentally fuck something seemingly simple up on an improbable scale.

TV history site Transdiffusion is a fun way to scratch a nerdy itch,

The piece on the closedown of TV in 1939 is an enjoyable mix of mythbusting and source discussion.
