That new Puma looks really nice. It's not a fucking Puma, but still.

Ford is basically dropping everything but a single Focus variant and the Mustang and putting all the other names on big-n-tall cars.

Also, I really really really want the Ranger the yanks are getting with the detuned 280hp Mustang/focus RS engine. But never gonna happen.

Six proper seats, decent boot, 45mpg, good mirrors, Top Gear Car of the Year 2000, Top Gear Family Car of the Year 2000-4, been in the MoMo in New York. Looks wise I think it is way ahead of its time, and i think that'll tell in a few years. Function, styling that says "Yeah, and?" And a decent car underneath by accounts. MaliCool

My boss bought one for all those reasons. It was absolutely fucking terrible. Most unreliable modernish car I have personally witnessed.

I quite like the look of the new Puma. They called it that because it's the little version of the Kuga (Cougar).

Or maybe something like a Ford 8830? That suits her choice in engine.

If the rotate function could be added to the mobile site it would at least help a little.

Many options!

- stop holding your phone upside down
- buy an Android phone
- write some code to teach the forum about meta information

Having car issues...

I have a 65 plate Golf GT. It has one of those auto handbrakes. It is mean to when in auto hold mode, allow you to apply the footbrake, this engages the hand brake (green light on dash). You pop the car in neutral engine turns off (auto stop start & manual gears)

It has recently, started disengaging the auto break. Light come on, release pedal. light goes off and the car rolls, till i jam the brake again.

It is has been in the dealers twice now and they can't find the fault. I am kinda insisting I don't want the car back, as there is a fault with the brakes. They have it till tomorrow to try and find it.

I will be getting a hire car from tomorrow, to allow VW to keep the car longer. if they can't find it today.

Any suggestions, on what I can do?

My superb doesn't engage the auto hold if I don't press the brake pedal hard enough. It took me AGES to figure out. I don't think the dash light comes on when I press too soft however.

Is it a full electric handbrake? I think the auto handbrake has to be active for it to work. However again, the dash light doesn't come on when it's inactive!

There's not a fault with the brakes, there's a fault with the auto handbrake - you won't be able to reject the car based on that, it's still perfectly safe.

Even thought it turns itself off and i roll back, as the car is in neutral and foot is off the break?

They can't find the fault, VWs suggestion is turn it off, use it as a normal hand break.

Is it your car? Or a company car?

Company car.

I have spoken to the lease company, and suggested they work with VW to get this fixed.

Their recommendation is a bit crap but at least you have the option of using it as a normal handbrake in the meantime.

It’s cool and retro!

Had a very close call on the M1 southbound just south of Leicester earlier. Car behind me in the middle lane got taken out by someone else moving out of the inside lane. Hit the central reservation and rolled about 5 times before it disappeared from view. :(

I’ve just checked and it’s still closed. Hope everyone is ok. :’(

One car back and it would have been me, two cars back and further and I’d probably still be there now either involved or stuck in it. Very lucky really.

According to the Northampton local news site the driver’s gone to Coventry Hospital with “serious injuries”. :(
