This might well be covered by that video, which I'm yet to watch, but I often wonder whether Ian Bell is bitter towards David Braben about his success or anything.

Part 6 (starts about the 45 minute mark) - tries to cover the fallout from both sides of view

I read that a couple of days ago and it reminded me of when snes emulation first started, and how Pilotwings (and Mario Kart) were amongst the games that didn't work because of the dsp-1 chip.
I remember visiting Daves Classics every day to see if snes9x or zsnes had been updated to support it.

Not sure I ever remember watching the demo though.

The order of the demos seems to be randomised too (or at least different between the two cart types). I have two copies of the game at the moment and the plane demo was the fourth one up and it landed fine. Second copy, the plane demo was third and it crashed.

Arcade Club's Leeds site will be opening this month. Still no exact date though.

On a smaller scale, Retroids in Worcester is expanding soon.

Ace.

That reminds me, there is a game I'm thinking of but I can't remember the name.

It was a single screen platformer like Snow Bros but your character had a back pack that would suck up the enemies.

It may have been an Amiga game now I think of it.

Any ideas?

Hmmm.. It could be that but I think the characters were more cartoony. Maybe clowns?

Or maybe my mind is tricking me.

Some of the enemies in Tumblepop were clowns

And so was one of the bosses

Maybe watch a video of it being played and see if the music / FX remind you

I’ve won free admission for two people to Arcade Club in Leeds on their opening weekend, plus food and a couple of drinks each.
Annoyingly I may now have other plans for that weekend.

A chum of mine has done a video review of Arcade Club. (This is the chap who made the intro for my channel, and he was one of the earliest members of the fruit machine emulation scene.)

He has also challenged me to a game of Point Blank, which he will lose because I am toweringly magnificent at Point Blank. And also modest about it.

I played Chase HQ and Turbo Out Run for over an hour last night, I think they're two of the most perfect arcade games ever.

I can often finish Chase HQ on a single credit, but not always, sometimes the traffic patterns just screw you up and cause mistakes to be made.

Turbo Out Run I've never finished but I'm getting better at it and I think I'll be able to complete it soon. (Continues aren't allowed.)

Continental Circus is one I can endlessly replay as well. (TRIVIA - It should have been called CONTINENTAL CIRCUIT but something got a bit lost in translation....)

No idea if it's any good, but The King of Arcades was added to Amazon Prime Video this week. Might be of interest to some.
