Would this mean anything to me if I had the first clue who this person is?

Get your finger on the pulse doc, he is the lead singer of an 70s band called Wizzard, who sung the famous Xmas song "I wish it could be Christmas everyday"

Total zeitgeist reference!

I can’t stand Roy Wood (or, indeed Mr Dave, Noddy Holder). That link is removed, what was it?

At a guess, we should accept the will of the people and leave ASAP.

Also am I correct in thinking that May wants MPs to approve her deal and then they will be allowed to vote on whether we have a second referendum on the deal they just approved.

She phrases it in such a tortured way as to render it completely meaningless.

The Prime Minister wrote:
The Government will therefore include in the Withdrawal Agreement Bill at introduction a requirement to vote on whether to hold a second referendum.
This must take place before the Withdrawal Agreement can be ratified.

Number 10

Essentially: vote for this bill and the Government will let you have a chance to vote for a second referendum. Except that the Commons can already decide to do this, either by getting control of the timetable or including it as an amendment. Why would they want to wait for this Bill to be passed? What happens if the clause in the Bill is removed in the Lords or at committee stage? Why would anyone trust her on this?

I really shouldn't read this things.

Quote:
One - the Government will seek to conclude Alternative Arrangements to replace the backstop by December 2020, so that it never needs to be used.

Capital letters now. Still no explanation of what these Alternative Arrangements are. I hope they involve bears.

Quote:
Six - the UK will seek as close to frictionless trade in goods with the EU as possible while outside the single market and ending free movement.

We're a service based economy. How will this work? And I'm still waiting for my MP to explain why not being able to live/study/work/love in 27 or so other countries without visas and red tape would be an improvement.

Quote:
And over 80% of the electorate backed parties which stood to deliver Brexit by leaving with a deal.

This is why Labour aren't getting my vote.

I think since parliament can't seem to decide that they should hold a referendum on whether to have a second referendum.

Capital letters usually mean a defined term. So, y'know, it should be there somewhere ....

I actually thought she had given the speech to the House of Commons so was a bit mystified when I couldn't find it in Hansard. Apparently she did one of those creepy Youtube videos instead. Perhaps she should go all the way, become an 'influencer', post photos of her lunch, have numerous selfies in every part of Whitehall, and then turn out to be dangerously right-wing.

I went to Remainiacs Live last night, and Marcus Brigstock made an interesting comment about how to handle Brexity-relatives. He argued that for the elections, you should tell them that whilst we're leaving, for the time we have people in the Parliament, the best patriotic position is to vote for people who will stand up and speak up for Britain in the body rather than just do nothing, on the grounds that moving anyone away from the Brexit Party would be a win.

But, frankly, turnout from anti-Brexit forces is still the strongest asset we have.

Some long ramble about why he's for Brexit now. Odd that he pulled it though - maybe the grief he got from his Twitter post - https://twitter.com/DrRoyWood/status/11 ... 7885766656

made him realise that most of his fans don't agree with him.

As much as I dislike David Davies, it doesn't take a lot to just loudly bleat shite to put someone off an interview. She didn't have a single actual valid political point.

Peter Oborne's written a good piece on why he is no longer a fan of Brexit. Sinner coming into the fold and all that, but he does make some concise points that might be useful next time you get into a heated discussion with a Leave-type.

Last night the strangest thing happened.

It was around 8pm and I was craving chocolate. Only thing is at that time of night, ironically, the only place open is the Tesco Express near my old flat. It's about 2.5 miles away.

I decided to go and hopped on my BMX. I got onto the beach path but as I got within range of my exit I could see someone standing in the way. After thinking "I hope he's not a nutter" I saw him bend down and start rubbing the ground. Now I was starting to worry even more. For sure he must be crackers or drunk oh crap I gotta deal with it.

As I got about 10m away he stood up and walked off. Thank fuck for that. When I reached the ramped exit he was blocking I realised he'd been writing BREXIT all over the path in chalk. Hard core.

Not sure if that is campaigning or just being a nut case but there's not much difference it seems.

I noted he'd done it at night when there was less chance there would be anyone around (much less any burly Polish builders)

I’ve not seen any campaign posters at all, apart from the one in the campaign vehicle parked outside the polling station that just said ‘Stop Brexit, vote Liberal Democrat’. I, too, have only had two campaign leaflets, also Brexit Party and UKIP :S
