I have to say that since being introduced to good chairs it has been life changing for sure. The Sayl taught me to sit somewhat properly. The Humanscale taught me to totally sit properly because if you don't you go back. It's got a skeleton that moves back quite freely, which stops you slumping back. The only bad habit I've got left is sitting on a foot. Apparently the Embody is scooped up slightly to stop you doing that. It's kinda like all of the other chairs I've had all rolled into one which was why I saved for it for so long.

It's darker than that stock pic too. It's more blood red.

Nothing fancy, just a cheap Acer from Ebuyer - worked out at around £115 with the 10% Easter discount thing on eBay.

It's going to take some getting used to though - it rather dwarfs my old main screen (which I shuffled over to use as my new secondary screen)

We said that if everything went ok with the hospital, etc recently we’d treat ourselves (me) to an Instant Pot:

Instant Pot Duo V2 7-in-1 Electric Pressure Cooker, 6 Qt, 5.5L 1000 W, Brushed Stainless Steel/Black, 220-240v, Stainless Steel Inner Pot https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00OP26T4K/ ... XCbXC3XSZF

My Ma and I have cooked dinner in it the last couple of nights (we bought her one too, to say thank you). Popped all of the ingredients for a bolognese in, including the pasta, set to seven minutes and done. Boy, it was amazing. It pushed loads of flavour into the pasta itself. It was amazing. Made a great curry in it last night, too. Have just bought an accompanying cookbook because, really, Ma and I have just been guessing, but I’m already so impressed goodness knows how awesome we’ll be with actual recipes.

I've been in enjoying my pressure cooker a lot. Does an excellent risotto as well as stews.

What were your Bolognese and curry recipes?

We made them up. My ma and I are very much ‘instinctive’ cooks (lol) and just chuck stuff in. Basically sautéed onion and garlic in the pot, 2 tins chopped tomatoes, oregano and basil, soy sauce (I’m allergic to Worcestershire) two types of veggie mince, put uncooked spaghetti on top (broken in half to fit in) and little bit of vegetable stock. Seven minutes high pressure, quick steam release.

Curry was onion, garlic, ginger, some spices we had and made into a paste with a little oil, chopped tomatoes, light coconut milk, Quorn, random vegbfrom fridge, cup of wild rice and a cup and a half of stock.

I’m going to look at some proper recipes, though.

I usually make a lovely 2hr slow cooker risotto so am interested how one compares in this.

I’m looking forward to hearing how meat joints cook in it when Ma cooks for others as I think it’s supposed to cook meat very nicely for casseroles.

Nice, the idea of cooking the pasta in with the bolognese is an intriguing one, will give it a go.

I can heartily recommend this risotto recipe, though I pressure cook on the 'rice/risotto' setting for 8 minutes and slow pressure release.

Nice. I’d have to change the base flavours as I don’t eat fish/seafood, but risotto is high on the list of things I love making and eating, so I’ll be giving one a go.

I recommend the pasta in the bolognese as the pressure forces all of the flavour (juice from tomatoes, soy/Worcestershire sauce) into the pasta, and the spaghetti itself cooks to a rich red with the flavours. We went heavy on the herbs guessing that some of the flavour would be transferred to the pasta and it worked really well.

My ma was a bit dubious when I said I was getting a pressure cooker as she remembers the rattling, whistling pressure cookers that used to go on the stove top. My nan had one and it used to scare my ma, but this is silent. She was completely bowled over by it. Also being able to do things like bolognese (sautéing veg, then making the bolognese and pasta all in one pot) really is great for her as she is regularly cooking for 4-6 people.

I dont know if it would share the same properties you're allergic to, but have you tried Henderson's Relish? It hails from Sheffield and is regarded by many as the city's greatest export. I prefer it to Worcester sauce, and tastes similar though has a slightly bigger kick in my opinion.

Yes, I noticed they’d all gone. I think it’s because they’d gone down to almost half price.

I’ve not, and looking at the ingredients it’s not got any fish in it, which is what I can’t have in the Worcestershire sauce, so would be fine. Apparently a few of the supermarkets carry it. I’ll have a look out for it, but I see there’s a couple of places that have it online if the supermarkets only stock it regionally.

Another vote for Henderson's Relish. This vegan Worcestershire sauce is also not bad: https://biona.co.uk/product/biona-organ ... ter-sauce/

Henderson’s Relish is excellent. Nottingham is as far south as they sell it though, I thought. Obviously you can get it online, but my dad buys some from here every time he visits.

I have literally no idea whether you are north or south of us. God bless my Geography GCSE. If you said it was found next to Ox Bow lakes I’d at least have a vague notion of where to look :D.

I went to a blogger event for the release of the tefal version of the instant pot a few years back. I don't remember anything about the event except that there was a lot of free wine.

Green Swarfega is for pussies that never get their hands dirty.

Orange is where it's at: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Swarfega-Orang ... 000TAN6OI/

Oh, you greasy? No problem, bruv.

Got paint on you there? Fuck that, it's gone.

Got some skin on those hands? Lulz, don't think so.

Orange swarfega is liquid sand paper, glorious. And I'm pretty sure it's the same stuff in the fancy exfoliating face scrubs you get.

Stuffs I forgot. A partially working Razer phone for £40 (the top cm of the screen doesn't work with touch). I got it from a mate.

Image

Want to use it to connect up to a headphone amp. Going to cover the end parts with 0.5 plastic sheet, as the insurance company lost the end meshes and they're £40 each lol. I will get a touchpad remote to use it, which will get around the screen issue and allow me to control it without using the touch screen. I also got two of these.

Image

From Amazon but had to play the waiting game. They were £20 each. Then the sun came out and they were £35 each. So I waited for the sun to go back in and sure enough, £20 again. Bought two whilst I had the chance, as mum has one and they shift a lot of air.

Massive mate. Look how they dwarf that huge truck, they're arriving Wednesday but I'm guessing they'll have to truck in liquid rubber and mould them on site.
