Romping through RE7 at the moment. Last nights session saw the end of 'Mother' Marguerite (1st go!) and a then a quick nip in and get the fuck out of the kids room for the arm sample (creepiest section to experience in VR so far).

RE7 update - Snake key retrieved from neck of dead copper then back through the house NOW WITH ADDED STRONGER BADDIES. Attic done (not watched 'Happy Birthday' tape yet though) and both key cards got for the delightful next section with Hillbilly Boy.

I got this, it's great but I'm not sure I'm going to be able to make any meaningful inroads into a game of this length while standing up holding an aim controller. Not tried it seated yet but that never feels natural with the aim.

Not tried it, but I can't imagine it's as good as it is with the aim controller, just not as tiring.

RE7 progress

- 'Happy Birthday' tape done (much easier already knowing the mechanics 2nd time round)
- Barn /Pig sty cleared then then Ethans run through the Happy Birthday trial. (Burned to death once out of my own stupidity)

To the jetty!

I realise I'm massively behind the times here but I played the demo for SUPERHOT the other day and that surely is a lot of fun. The only downside is that throwing things is laughably inaccurate, does that cause issues when playing the full game?

Not when you learn how to "throw" (which is: push the thing away from you like a dart).

Another romping RE7 session last night. Jetty / boathouse boss battle done without losing a life!
Serum given to...
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Zoe, gave it to Mia when I originally played it.

Zoe doesn't survive past the next cut scene! :DD

Man, the wrecked ship is so dark... really nice to be in a section of the game with enemies but no weapons

Flashback scene done, now onto the upper decks.

Fucking great this.

The flashback scene on the boat was the only bit I didn't really like.

Really? Why's that do you think?

I thought it was ok myself, doesn't really last that long either.

I'm not sure, to be honest. It's a long while since I played, but I think it was a jarring change from the normal game and I wanted to know what was happening in the 'real' world. Also I think I got lost.

I loved the Happy Birthday flashback, though.

Hmm, didn't get that feeling myself, the visuals jar (but need to) when they show a nice clean ship beforehand I suppose, but I think the flow for the sake of the story was good.

I strongly advise everyone to replay it on PSVR is they have the means to.
But for the love of Pob, change the camera stick settings to smooth rather than 30º increments.

I stared it on PSVR but I was so bad at head aiming I restarted it in flat. Then I worried I'd done the wrong thing and surely VR is amazing and responded in the most rational way possible by just not playing it at all.

What should I do, Zardoz?!

RE7 update - Ship done WITH NO LOSS OF LIFE. Only jumped sacred a couple of times too :DD

Back out and onto the salt mine, cursing myself that I'm one antique coin short for the bird-caged Magnum (my own fault for going for the steroids first instead), I've got plenty of firepower atm so no biggie.

RE7 Update - surprisingly short sprint to the end once the mines are done, misremembered some stuff and I was expecting a longer section before the last fight. All done, fucking brilliant, tempted to go through again on hardest difficulty. Properly set the bar for gaming for me.

D'you know what's a surprisingly good fucking time? Danger Ball, the pong-like game that's part of the PlayStation VR Worlds collection. I fired it up last night thinking it would entertain me for about five minutes and I ended up playing it for ages. It's such a simple concept (3D competitive Pong where you control the paddle by moving your head) that it works really well and the lack of controls outside 'looking at stuff' means there's an immediacy and simplicity baked right in. It's also pretty fucking hard and I've never made it past the fourth of six rounds of the tournament, where each round is played against a VR opponent who's got some kind of special power. You can add velocity to a return by nodding your head towards the ball and you can move as you hit it to add spin with a surprisingly amount of accuracy so it's quite just a case of batting something back and forward. Really good stuff.

Yeah, I enjoyed it when I gave it a go. It just got buried with all the other PSVR stuff I've played but I'll be dipping back in.

Astro Bot Rescue Mission is delightful!

Was really enjoying the first world but it ramped up to even more COR! on the second world. Had me standing up and peering round virtual things like a giddy madman last night.

Cheers again, markg :metul:

I see Everybody’s Golf has gone VR. I’m assuming there’s a fly to where your ball landed otherwise it’s going to be a walking simulator.

According to a review I read it's pretty good but, bizarrely, only using the Dualshock; it's borderline unplayable with the Move controllers. There's a demo on the PSN store which I've downloaded but am yet to try myself.

I introduced the father in law and Mini Fop to Rez Infinite last night. They were using the DS4 rather than Move (couldn't be bothered setting up Move/charging])

They loved it, both getting a proper head-nod on when they were zooming between levels. Feels like it could be a defining moment for Mini Fop and electronic music, who hereto has been steadfast in her commitment to the likes of Pulp and Muse.

I didn't actually manage to get a go myself, but was reward enough to watch them enjoy it so much.

Another VR thing - watching the commons debate on Tuesday night, I thought it would be pretty neat to have that in VR.

You're down there, sat on the front bench, looking around, up close with every greasy fold and roll of self-serving flesh. You could shout at them. You could prod them with your Move controller. You could grab them by the head and drive it into the bench in front. You could throw Bercow at them. You could flail them with the ceremonial mace. You could slip off to the parliamentary boozer for a fag and a beer before rolling back in for round 2.

If I had one iota of the required skills I'd make this. But I don't.

I've got one of these coming second hand. Boredom I guess.

Few Qs.

In cinematic mode does it fill your eyes or does it look like you are viewing a cinema screen from distance?

What are the best games? I have resi evil 7 already.

How does one watch movies on it?

Any other cool things to do with it?

Ta :)
