For this reason, if you are worried about power cuts proceed with caution with keeping your information electronically.

EDIT: sorry, it seems it's free on Kindle Unlimited, but £1.99 otherwise.

Personally I'm not panicking specifically about food shortages (apart from general panic about Brexit anyway), but it's probably worth preparing for prices of some things to go up rather a lot.

I just bought this, out of interest. It's a bit "argh the apocalypse is coming" IMO but there's some reasonable advice - mostly common sense though tbh.

It'll be worse than we think, but not as bad as we expect.
I've probably got a couple of weeks of food in the freezer and cupboards, might get a few more tins in.

Like when you buy chocolate and snacks in for Christmas?

Joans' keeps buying red wine, but I'm not convinced that's any different from usual.

Now seriously thinking about buying one of these: https://www.powerinspired.com/store/pha ... -2037.html

I hope, for my own sake, that I never meet Cameron or May. Hatred doesn't begin to cover it.

Wow, UPS's's's are expensive! To be honest, I'd be surprised if we get significant power outages - a No Deal will be a fuck up, but I really don't think it'll come to that.

I'm already there... Steered clear of Westminster of late, but I did buy one of these (off of my own Redbubble store), with the (as yet, unfulfilled) intention of going protesting (naughty word in image):

My Ma is into her third week staying with us and last night, unbeknownst to me, made an Ocado shop, so now we are prepared for Brexit.

Ocado shops are online, they don't have a car park.

Not in the car park of a shop that doesn't physically exist, I suspect.

I'm finally getting a bit worried so bought an unnecessary amount of tinned tomatoes, tomato paste, spaghetti, flour, sugar and yeast today.

I only went out for diet coke and beer but at least we're good for simple pasta meals and bread for a good while - Helen picked up tomatoes and pasta the other week too and there's plenty of sugar already for feeding the bees in the winter that didn't happen.

Even in the irradiated post-attack wasteland that was once London, Theresa May would still be talking about "respecting the referendum" and how "no deal is better than a bad deal".

Our outside freezer is packed now. Which is great until the power goes out. We also have a decent amount of non-perishables in the cupboard.

I don't think I'm going to start restocking just yet (haven't really made a dent in the spring haul) but might see how things are looking in mid-August. Neither of the Tory leadership candidates are currently demonstrating signs of reasonableness on this matter, and the timeframe for Parliament to intervene is very tight.

Perhaps it'll become a biannual tradition, like adjusting the clocks.

How the hell does a developed country get itself into a situation where it would deliberately destroy its own food supply? That would be a bad enough rhetorical question at the best of times, but during the global pandemic?!

After a slight dip during the first couple of weeks of panic buying in the spring I have been replenishing my stocks over the year and this time only getting things I actually like. It's still ludicrous however.

Congested ports due to Xmas stockbuilds and COVID affecting the workforce, winter weather causing delays into port, slower throughput due to customs checks.

I've not panic bought anything at any point throughout this whole mess but the next few weeks are clearly going to be an absolute shitshow. Just been and got plenty of tinned stuff, sack of rice and other bits in. Happy fucking Christmas!

Might also be worth adding a load of crap into a virtual shopping trolley and putting an order in for a fortnight hence. Just to get a delivery spot.

There's enough food in the supply chain to keep the stores stocked for a while but I wouldn't be surprised to see gaps start to appear in the back half of January. I've got a couple of extra meals worth of tinned stuff but that's about it.
