In other news, we've all seen the trailer for Good Omens, right?

Probably the best horror TV I've seen. Some brilliant camerawork / editing / effects in there. It's not perfect but I highly recommend it.

I've sort of gone off horror, nothing seems to gets to me at all. And I'm really jaded with things that set up jump scares far too obviously and to be fair there was a bit of that in this. But

I watched that at a point I was so depressed that I needed to lie in bed and watch something that went on for ages and required no real thought. That's literally the best thing I can say about it. Christ, why is it still a thing?

I liked the everything about the first 9 episodes. The last one...

was okay until the last third or so. The ending was too soft and the whole thing with that Annabel kid really took me out of it, and the end scene was awful. It should've stopped just with the family running out of the house.

The camera work in the funeral parlour was superb, keep thinking back to that. Shout out to the audio too actually, the scenes with the banging walls/doors etc grabbed my attention to say the least :D

Yeah it's defo the best Ghost story that's been made for TV by miles.

In case it's of interest to anyone, Amazon Prime seem to be adding more sets of US shows. There's Prison Break, New Girl, Glee, White Collar, Angel and Burn Notice that I've heard of

Nooooo. Finished season 3 of Animal Kingdom last night.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
it's still not bloody finished. I was certain this was the last series, it's been seriously diminishing returns since the end of S1. But I'm too far in to not see how it all finishes. Hope it all concludes in S4.

From the series' title to each episode's teaser text, this is some of the most brilliantly tone-deaf copy I've read in years.

What's the name of that one voiceover guy? You know the one, he seems to do every single trashy true crime thing that's on those channels in the desperate depths of the EPG. I can't hear those in any voice but his.

You know what, I wouldn't surprised if the ep teaser copy is actually directly taken from the opening VO, from a man who sounds exactly like that.

I am investigating FOR SCIENCE.

Nope, the intro is different copy, and the VO is a surprisingly restrained old English gentleman.

I've finished watching Man in the High Castle Season 3 and I thought it was brilliant! I'd be lying if I said I understood it all, but nevertheless, it was great!

I can't wait for season 4.

I started watching S3 this week. One episode in and I feel like I've missed an enormous reveal with

these references to multiple world's and Juliana's sister

Don't know if I zoned out at the end of S2.

Anyway, I enjoyed the first episode in spite of not having a clue what's going on. Hopefully my brain will piece things together.

Ash vs Evil Dead S1 is now on Netflix. We watched the first episode tonight and it was embarrassingly bad. How has this got 98% on Rotten Tomatoes? It must get so much better. I’m not sure I can watch another though.

It was like they took Evil Dead and spliced it with the humour of American Pie—it was borderline unwatchable. Does it get better?

Crikey, it’s really not to our taste then. It’s a shame, I loved the Evil Dead films. I felt my skin crawling off my body watching this, and not in a creepy way because of the horror, because of the awful frat boy humour.

Watched the first two episodes this evening. It's very well done and I've learnt loads about the conflict already. It's also very uncompromising in its use of footage and photographs. Highly recommended.

The TL;DW is:

blame the French.

We’ve been binge-watching this over Christmas (it’s on Netflix now) and are a bit over halfway. It is indeed excellent. I had no idea how little I knew about Vietnam. Good God almighty, the US did just about every single fucking thing exactly wrong.

Also the footage and photographs are indeed absolutely brutal enough to satisfy even the most deranged censorship-is-evil Hearthly-a-like. This is a stark picture of the horrors of modern war.

Aye. I realised that what little I knew came from the films, and they completley ignored the Vietnamese side and experience.

For me the scariest part was LBJ knowing it was a disaster but feeling powerless to do anything about it.

Probably should re-watch it.

In case it's of interest, All seven seasons of The Mentalist have been added to Amazon Prime. I never watched it when it was on TV, so it's something new for me to binge my way through. Hopefully the smugness of the main character won't get on my nerves too much.

It starts really well and stays good for multiple seasons, but really tails off after... a certain thing happens in the penultimate season.

Y'know, same old story

Been re-watching Breaking Bad lately. Anyway we got to s4 e3 "Open House" and it had the music from Vikings in it! Probably everyone else already knew it was an actual song and not just the theme for Vikings but it surprised me.
