Cheers mate, pretty set for games for now though. First time in ages since I've actually bought any!

Yeah I imagine Ace Combat would be sweet.

It is remarkable. Much better than I expected. Playing super hot, it's hard not to feel like a bad ass when you're shooting a guy, catching his gun then using both to shoot two other guys at the same time. Much Woo.

Yes. I liked it, especially in co-op. But I don’t think Grim or APoD were as keen.

I thought it was great. However iirc we were in the Third Golden Age of Gaming and so 2 player games got short shrift.

Ta, might be a future contender.

To be honest I can't get enough of Ultra Wings and Wipeout at the moment.

I see doom vfr is £9 at the moment. Anyone had any fun with it? I remember reading that someone (Markg?) Had been unimpressed by it, and haven't seen much spooging over it, but the idea is appealing, though I'd imagine it's motion sickness a go go.

I've no idea how it could possibly work, but apparently it's really good fun. It works entirely on teleport controls from what I've read so no motion sickness worries, though I don't understand how that works with Doom.

I've got it, and I don't really like it.

It just isn't much fun.

New demo 'disc' has been released:

https://store.playstation.com/en-gb/pro ... MODISK0003

I'm not entirely sure why though given that the only thing on it that's not already available is the SUPERHOT demo. Full list:

  • Astro Bot Rescue Mission
  • SUPERHOT VR
  • Headmaster
  • Resident Evil 7 biohazard Teaser Demo: The Kitchen
  • Job Simulator
  • Moss
  • The Persistence
  • Thumper
  • Battlezone

Well, yeah, but six of the nine are already available on the previous demo discs.

Game based on heading footballs. The demo is actually brilliant fun and it's got a load of Portal style humour shoved in. I'm not sure if it would sustain my interest for the length of a full game though which is why it isn't on The List.

It's Ace Combat 7 Eve! I am excite. The VR mode looks amazing but pretty brief but I'm still hyped for the rest of it.

Had a go of Dariusburst Chronicle Saviours last night with the PSVR headset on. Best way to play it I'd say, gives you a mahoosively wide 'screen', like being sat at the triple monitored arcade cab.

I'm still shit at it mind.

I think I'd like this, but at around the £15 price point probably.

I really wish they would do a whole Ace Combat game in VR because brevity aside it's the best thing on PSVR. Even got me looking at the whole PCVR rabbit hole to get more of a flying fix.

Isn't the new Ace Combat game a full game in VR then? I thought it was.

No, it has a set of VR missions that are seperate from the main game, I believe.

Yeah, just three missions that are about 15 minutes each. Although I think I've played one of them about five or six times already.

Weird they couldn’t make all the content work. Doesn’t seem to be there’s a big difference between what you create for a mission if the player is in VR or not. Maybe creating the VR models for the cockpits? Are there lots of planes in the flat mode that VR doesn’t have?

The VR missions are a bit smaller in scope perhaps with fewer planes and ground units. The main game has all sorts of stuff going on that I guess they just struggled to render in VR.

They could surely have made more than three missions once they got it working, though.

Yeah but only just got the A-10. The other two missions are dog fighting only but that one mixes it up with some ground attacks.

I have bought this but I don't have VR.

Apparently the PS4 Pro version is better than the XB1X which makes sense as the Japanese don't like XBox consoles.

John Linneman the DF chap is dead good.

PSVR section is from 22m50s

Finished Rez Infinite's Play mode last night, something I never quite managed on the 360 (always crumbled at the last boss fight).

Still such an amazing game, perfect for VR.

I can't stop playing those Ace Combat VR missions, there's lots of replayability in there, aircraft and weapons unlocks and four difficulty levels to go at but mostly it just feels amazing. It has joined VR Wipeout and Rez in instantly feeling like the definitive version. I'm am still enjoying the main campaign loads, it looks great, is batshit insane and has plenty of variety but it's still just pictures on a tv.

How are you finding the motion, Mark? Does it feel more extreme than say Wipeout as you're rolling over etc?

Thankfully nothing has been an issue with me on PSVR, been regularly playing for an hour or two on the games I have with no problem.

I found the strongest motion freakiness was in The Last Guardian demo when you're on Trico and he makes a jump.

by far the greatest motion sickness I've felt in PSVR has been from walking across the gym in Creed.
