I have done this.

Is the free version just the same but with adverts?

And you can download stuff to listen when you're not online, not sure if there's any other differences, higher sound quality maybe?

If you use the app on your phone the free version has a lot more restrictions; like you can only listen to stuff in shuffle mode which is awful.

I downloaded the free Spotify app and figured if the Premium was anything like this it’d a massive pile of shit. It really put me off, so I went back to Apple Music.

As someone who’s used both extensively, I say through gritted teeth that Spotify is much better.

Here's a proper first world problem.. I've been approved for another business grant of £1000 (I spend £1000, they give me £500 back) But.... I can't think of anything to buy!

Surely there's some AV stuff you can find a use for? Some swanky 4K camera or something?

Yeah, I'm looking now... My camera can already do 4K and I've already bought loads of stuff that I need from the previous rounds of funding so I'm a bit lost.

I'm looking at a shoulder mount... That would be nice... and an extra long XLR lead. That would be useful.

Maybe an external sound recorder? That would be useful.

With remote mics! They're always useful.

What about a Steadicam mount?

A camera drone?

I have those apart from a drone which for some reason, they won't cover?

Grim... wrote:

I could. I already have a website but I'm guessing this would cost more than £250? If so, I'd need 3 quotes. Plus.. I already have a website. I know what you're thinking though so yes, I'll add it to the list for the next round when I have more time to prepare it.

I have enough storage but software... That's on the list! Good work.

Phones aren't covered but I'm alright in that sense.

As for a laptop, I could do with one but I've already had an Ipad through this which kind of does everything I would need a laptop to do 'in the field'. Also, my dad had a laptop which is just sitting in my mom's house doing nothing. I could probably have that if I asked.

If you really can't think of anything that you could use it for, then you could always, you know, just pass on it and let another business use it that might have a more genuine need ;)

I mean... I could... Yeah, totally.

In all seriousness, I've got a few things that I do actually need on the list and stuff like memory cards and batteries so they'll always come in.

I don't think that's how it works, is it? There's not a finite amount of business grants.

They do indeed! Hard drives are always useful. I'm trying to keep everything I film too just in case.

My wedding photographer friends do this and a few years ago, one of their old customers from 5 or 6 years ago had their house burnt down but luckily, all their wedding pictures were backed up and could be easily retrieved.

There most certainly is - there will be a budget that's been allocated to that grant fund and once it's gone, it's gone.

And it's often taxpayer-funded in some capacity.

The KFC bucket on the head (indicating a Super Fun Party Guy), and the beer snake, were highlights of cricket in Australia but are now sadly becoming frowned upon by the fun police.

There’s an old, semi-dormant Facebook chat Beex thing, which was renamed years ago to ‘Bobby is a dick’ after Bobbyaro left the group. It is still called that.
