Weighed down by guilt over their previous evening's actions, the villagers rise to a day spoiled by weather that matches their mood. There is a background shrieking wind that cuts deep into the soul. Realisation dawns that the shrieking isn't the wind, it's actually the man sitting in a rubber jacket staring out through the bars in the back window of a prison service van. It's Rodafowa, and he's off back where he belongs. Rodafowa was the Escaped Inmate.

The guard's work is done. He is now a Townie.

Noticing that Joans is missing, they run to his house to investigate. Jones is lying on his back in his front room in a pool of his own blood, a neat round hole in the middle of his forehead not matched by the ruinous mess of the back of his skull. A small hole in his living room window makes a line up to the old clock tower atop the village hall. Joans was a Townie.

The final missing person is Pundabaya. The villagers enter Pundabaya's darkened living room and find Pundyabaya hanging from the rafters, with his back to them - his hands tied together with the now-familiar organic handcuffs. It appears that the killer was short of rope, as Pundy has been hanged using his own intestines.

On turning round the corpse, the villagers see that Pundabaya's eyeballs have been removed and placed in his mouth, peeking out at them.

Carved onto Pundabaya's chest, in an admirably space-saving fashion, is the message:

linch
THIS
mthfks
!!!!!!

Eageleyed villagers notice that the pool of blood sat underneath Pundabaya's hanging corpse has been used to write another message:

"BOSTIN"

Pundabaya was a Mafia Goon

With 12 players alive, 7 votes are required for a lynch. Day 3 deadline is Sunday midday.

Gnomes was innocent?

Crikey.

Also that's the worst attempt to frame Dim ever.... or is it?

Either Dimrill is the serial killer -- in which case Grim... has been lying all along about being the scientist as he cannot have roleblocked Dimrill first night -- or someone is really keen on framing him. I think the latter.

Apart from my crap ability at picking townies to lynch, I'm still not sure why I'm otherwise suspicious ;(

Well you'll never guess what, good townfolk. I was a-dilly dallyin' over on the edge of town when I met a strange curved headed metal man. He were right peculiar, let me tells you. He done gone given me this here parcel to deliver to Mr Joans, but it sure do look like I can't deliver it no more, no siree. Say what, shall we open it ourselfs? We's awful ignorant after all... by and by.

I'm not convinced we should be trying to kill the SK at this point. He's done better than us.

Why I'll take that as A YES THEN FOR FUCKS SAKE.

Why it's small jiffy bag containing a little hacked-off pink My Little Pony's head.. I sure do wonder what that's all about.

You're assuming that the Serial Killer targeted Pundabaya for being a Mafia Goon, as opposed to just targeting people at random (after all, he can't win until everyone else is dead so why discriminate) ?

Although I guess it makes sense for him to take out the Mafia if he knows who they are as they can kill him.

ComicalGnomes has now "orchestrated" the lynching of two Townies. If he is a townie himself, he's got shitty luck. But it's still possible he's a Mafia Goon or the Serial Killer. My money's on the former.

I don't know - in the last game the mafia were much more clever about who the voted for - in this one Comical has tended to vote for people that he's had a one-on-one argument with.

Honest to God - I haven't got a fucking clue who the mafia might be.

That could still be a clever tactic. After all, if he is Mafia he will know who isn't, and might try and get into arguments with people to make them look suspicious and get people to vote for them when he does.

I dunno, just a hunch. But my hunches have been wrong before (see Mimi in Game 1)

And yes, Dimrill obviously has a role of some sort. Unless he's really just getting into the game.

I'd say he's the tracker, if anyone. Who better to track people than a postman, eh?

Usually I vote for the first or second person who's already voted for me that day, GAZCHAP.

Since I'm not sure who anyone is I think this is a fair tactic. Since I'm innocent you must be a guilty, evil one. :)

If he is a townie (and I mean this with no malice) - he's not a huge loss.

My bad phrasing, I mean I've been accusing him of being the escapee for 2 days and it turns out it was Roda... Crap!

He is of course, as previously stated, a massive twat.

CG's posting is a bit mystifing given that he's not the escapee. I'm tempted to assume he means what he says- the last time someone played like him, over on RLLMUK, I was completely convinced they were mafia, and they were just being a bit of a twat.

How big is the cult now? It's odds of recruiting will have gone up, and we appear to be ignoring them.

1, 2, or 3 people, depending on if the cult leader is active, and if they managed to recruit anyone.

Yeah, but I'm the scientist, so they can't recruit me.

Bugger, so I'm not.
Er... Well, I'm not a cultist, so either whoever is the leader thought the same as me, or isn't recruiting yet.

Or doesn't like me, of course.

True.

Reading back through Day 1, Sir Taxalot stands out as being pretty blatantly scummy as he tries to lead the doctor, which is frequently a giveaway sign. So I will

Oh, cheers mate. It couldn't be, say, because Comical Gnomes (a man who clearly has some role or other, hence all the shenaniganry and vote leading) was busy at work this morning.

I'm beginning to wonder if you're not in league with Dimrill, covering for him earlier in the game. I'm beginning to strongly suspect that Dimmers is the Cult Leader (who better than the ostman? He'll stop for a quick chat and a brainwash at the garden gate when delivering parcels (unless he just rings the bell and dumps a "whilst you were out" card)).

So - My thoughts:L

Grim... - is either the scientist and outed himself as a townie early on and has now been converted to the cult, or is not the scientist, and is, in fact, the cult leader.

Dimrill - as someone else said, something is going on there, and my best guess is that he's the cult leader.

Comical - Either the SK (hence the random attacks on people and the rather blatant attempt to set up Dimrill - this fits in with his campaign of clumsy misdirection so far), or Mafia, playing a double double triple bluff. Again, there's something going on here - I can't see a townie being quite so quick to try and lynch anyone who speaks out against him. And if he is, why the hell hasn't he been killed off yet? That leaves the third option, of course, that he's the cult leader worried about being uncovered, but I'm less convinced of that. So, probably SK or Mafia. Actually, probably mafia - pundy and rev owen split their votes between bluecup and comical on day 1, and comical voted with pundy for bluecup. I reckon comical got rev owen to vote for comical to allay suspicions.

Everyone else - Not sure, really.

Also - well done Mr Guard! well played, sir.

If he wasn't the scientist, though, surely the real scientist would counterclaim? He claimed the role day 1, so it's not as though he could have recruited the scientist then pretended that was his role, which would be a questionable strategy in any case since he'd be insta-dead once the real scientist died.

Double Post!

CG did arouse my suspicions quite majorly when reading back through day 1. What's interesting is how RevOwen talks about him- he seems to justify not voting for him an awful lot, and in such a way that he begins to explain why it'd be a really good idea then explains this away unconvincingly, before he does eventually vote for him. That is something I've seen happen when I was an antagonistic mafiate; fellow mafia members do frequently try and cod-justify why they're not voting for you. It's fairly damning, but then so is leading the doctor. I am a bit torn between Sir T and C. Gnomes.

And to think I was sympathetic for you on the first page Chris, you ruddy git. 'Clumsy misdirection'? I'll do for you. Not in this game, mind you, as I'm no killer, but I'll send you a headless teddy bear in the post with a note saying 'YOU'RE NEXT' or something.

The only thing that ever made me suspicious was a lot of talk on Day 1. I'm allowed to talk, talk is good, but as I've said before, it makes me guilty of nothing. You on the other hand are completely diverting attention from yourself by having all kinds of useful arguments for other people's possible guilt.

Now, all of the mafia in this game so far have been relatively quiet. I can probably count pundy's and Owen's posts in just over one hand. It's also a stunningly good tactic. If they hadn't been killed overnight nobody would be so much as sniffing in their direction in terms of lynching. This is a tactic that you yourself have employed, made all the more believable because you actually have a plausable real-life reason for not being around so much during the day. If you yourself were mafia, then this would have been an excellent cover while distancing yourself from the other mafia types. It's just lucky the SK hasn't been fooled so far, either that or he's just damn lucky.

This is a suspicion I might cultivate as this day goes on, we'll have to see. Me convince you? Tell ME a few things about how innocent you are :)

There's another possible explination for Mr Chris not being around during the day, of course.

A life?

And talking too much did for me on night 1 of the first game, remember? Presumably at your hnd, come to think of it :)

You on the other hand are completely diverting attention from yourself by having all kinds of useful arguments for other people's possible guilt.

Something that, you'll note, everyone's doing. I reckon Dimrill and Grim...are more lynchworthy than you but I'm not getting much support there.

Ha. If I could have been on here more, I'd have been gabbing as much as I did in game 1 - and just as likely to get lynched or offed.

If you yourself were mafia, then this would have been an excellent cover while distancing yourself from the other mafia types.

Indeed it would. As it would be for a half dozen other people who haven't posted much. Lynching on the basis of someone's silence means we have a lot of targets.

It's just lucky the SK hasn't been fooled so far, either that or he's just damn lucky.

Well, the postie sees all, eh? :)

This is a suspicion I might cultivate as this day goes on, we'll have to see. Me convince you? Tell ME a few things about how innocent you are :)

I like puppies, and daisies, and the sight of blood makes me squeamish (except when Mrs Chris was giving birth oddly, and usefully, enough). Unlike yourself, and a couple of other people, I also don't have a proper suspicious voting record. :)

My voting record has been pretty basic. BlueCup first, then Lace, purely because I thought they were mafia. I was so so convinced about the latter. I thought we'd expose Lace, and then Rod would fall, and I'd be heroicly insightful. Sadly it was not to be.

You have an honest face Chris, so I'll spare you my vote for now, but I would agree there's something suspicious about Dimrill. I think he's clever enough to implicate himself in his own serial kill as a cunning double bluff. As much as I'd like to axe Grim... I can't think of any reason he would lie about being the scientist. I'm fairly satisfied he is who he says he is, unless something damning pops up later.

Ok, that's convincing enough for me for now.

[vote:Dimrill]

Grim... - is either the scientist and outed himself as a townie early on and has now been converted to the cult, or is not the scientist, and is, in fact, the cult leader.

If he wasn't the scientist, though, surely the real scientist would counterclaim? He claimed the role day 1, so it's not as though he could have recruited the scientist then pretended that was his role, which would be a questionable strategy in any case since he'd be insta-dead once the real scientist died.

I can't see why the real scientist would need to counterclaim, if the real scientist hasn't, so far, been targeted for a lynching. And it's risky strategy, yes, but he could know who the scientist is, and have recruited him (a very good recruit for a cultist if they are, as suggested, a player who has been so far above reproach) - and will from then on do what he can to steer votes away from the real scientist in future.

Maybe.

You could run yourself in knots with this, but its the point of the game, I guess.

Comical - but do you reckon dimmers is mafia or cult leader? We're more interested in getting rid of mafia aren't we?

Because he would know that Grim almost certainly wasn't town, surely?
