The Naughty List has grown.

Grim... has been placed on it. He has packed his bags and left in... oh. He's not left at all.

He's sitting on top of the Christmas Tree. Some might say he has been impaled there, and then covered in glitter and given fairy wings. Yikes. He dead. He was an elf.

But where is Trooper? He has gone! But he has left a note!

Quote:
I am so sorry for being naughty at Xmas. Your marketing hero showed me the true spirit of the season. I renounce my evil ways!

Trooper was the Mafia note passer!

[playerlist]
zaphod79
gospvg
GazChap
Santanalian
Bobbyaro
Mr Russell Sprouts
Joans
Sharp Suit
Goddess Jasmine
[/playerlist]

9 players left. 5 for an addition to the Naughty List!

Day ends Monday at 10pm

Well done to the marketer thats 2 down for them - we still have the mafia boss and the demented elf to find and possibly one of the hidden roles may be bad but we're in a much better position than we were at the start of yesterday.

I expected Grim... to be gone but thought that he might attract hits from both sides which would have worked out better for us - and I'd be interested to know afterwards why you suspected Davpaz

People who voted for Davpaz yesterday - Santanalian, Grim..., Bobbyaro, me , Joans , Gospvg , Goddess Jasmine - quite possible that there is a baddie in there and they were throwing him under the bus to clear themselves later but the more interesting list is those who didnt vote for someone who was a baddie

GazChap
Mr Russell Sprouts
Sharp Suit

Oh hey, right about trooper then. Perhaps I should try and post more. Incidentally, it was his post at the start of day three where he just seemed to jump in and point the FOS at me, gos and santanalien. Maybe some of the previous posts were getting a bit too close to the mafia Don?

Trooper did also try and rally people to vote for Gospvg which would suggest he's not the don (he still could be the demented elf though)

Speculation based on absolutely nothing other than his quietness and an unfortunate username, but Mafia dons typically are seen wearing Sharp Suits, no?

If Troops was rallying for a vote on gospvg, then yes that would suggest he's a goodie - or at least, not Mafia.

If Grim... was just an elf I don't see how he could have known about DavPaz - but could someone have passed him a note?

Yeah, because anyone wanting to be trusted with knowledge would be right to pass it to the person in the town most people are questioning!

[vote: Mr Russell Sprouts] He set my alarm off yesterday, and din't vote for DP.

Who is left?
1 Mafia Don - who has not taken over the power roles of the infiltrator & note passer
1 Demented Elf
1 Marketing Director
1 Elf Note Passer - did anyone else receive a note?

Secret Roles? How many roles 1 or 2? 1 good & 1 bad?

I agree with this he made a comment on day two which has got me thinking, will revisit day two to read that thread again.

When you've claimed that someone has told you who the demented elf is, why would you vote for someone else?

Because I don't trust these notes i could be the elf note passer but then how would he know? I think it is the mafia trying to stir shit up.

Quoting a post from Sant yesterday (because he says it better than I ever could)

I'm worried about two people though, and here's why:

MR RUSSELL SPROUTS.

Immediately after SDG is strangled with tinsel (Day 2) here's what he said:

Quote:
Well Nikachu was an elf and is now dead, so your list should only be four people long (and three obviously without me).

I do feel Christmassy this morning, all lovely and in the spirit of joyfulness.

No mention of poor SDG but at least he feels Christmassy. Probably because he's just murdered her and got his "jolly's". No, jollies. One of those.

Secondly:

ZAPHOD79

I love Zaphod. He's ace. He's also the consistently logical as far as I'm concerned. So what insights has he got for us:

Quote:
What we know from yesterday (please feel free to add)

10 people voted to remove an Elf from the game
The Mafia targetted and removed an Elf from the game
The mad Elf targetted and removed an Elf from the game
The Marketing person did not target a baddie (anyone want to come forward and claim that they clockwork oranged into watching uplifting videos last night?)

Some notes were passed around (again anyone want to come forward as a recipient of a note and tell us what they said?)

Some special stuff may have happened (the two mystery roles)

I do think its fair to say that there will have been at least one baddie in the group that voted for Kov , however that really doesnt help us much - I also agree that targeting a silent one would be good as if they are good they are not contributing and are just giving the baddies a chance to slide along undetected so

[vote:joans]

So, to recap, Zaphod, some people did something and stuff happened. HOW INSIGHTFUL. Or not. Y'see, this is the worse that I've seen you. You're normally so calm and collected and save your vote. So, the hyper-analysis is suddenly absent and, in addition, at the moment we've seen you:

FLIM-FLAM your vote on Day 1.

JUMP AT THE CHANCE of voting for Silent Night when I done fucked up. In fact, you were a little too keen for people to get their votes in that night, no doubt RALLYING YOUR MAFIA BREADRIN (Bread bin? Brethrin? Of, whatever) to come and vote now that everyone had jumped on my idiotic mistake. I still think Silent Night was stupid not to come back and fight his case, but whatevs.

So what am I saying? Well, Zaphod has probably gone to the dark side.

Russ is probably the serial killer.

But I accept that I'm basing that on only hunches rather than science. But, y'know, at least I'm trying to provide an explanation.

Because it was not within 'quote' markers it looks like it counted that as a vote - it doesnt now you've switched to Russell - but if your a townie be careful - at the wrong moment that would be enough to knock someone over the edge.

Also we have until Monday night - we dont need to rush this just now

I'm bandwagoning sorta, since bringing someone to task is about the only way you'll get them to talk.

I'm suspect of Russ (and those who didn't vote for Davpaz) in any event, but without the threat of a lynch a player can happily sit back and say nothing which too many people have been doing.

So bandwagon away, I say.

I agree, but on 3 votes, with at least two bad guys left, if we are mistaken, that is day (game) over.

Remember that if there are only 2 bad guys left then they dont know who each other is so its not quite possible for a bandwagon like that unless one of the hidden roles is a cult type situation (in which case we have definitely lost the game already :-)

I'm happy to go for Russ as well although could switch for Gazchap as he's another person whos just saying enough to slide under the radar but avoided the vote for Davpaz yesterday

Wow , no posts in a day - I suppose slow is expected since its the weekend but i came back expecting at least some conversation - we have until 10:00pm but night ends dont always work that well so its probably better if we agree on a choice before the end of the work day today.

I dont have a problem voting for Russell but it would be good to hear from him

I agree, but I suspect that may not happen today.

I do agree with you with regards to gazchap too, I have to go to work in a min(more presents to wrap), but will post more about it later.

That said, I am happy to go for either Russ or Gaz.

I'll wait for an explanation. A simple "not me, guv" just isn't good enough. I might be wrong about him but it can't do any better without a solid explanation.

Also, is Sharp Suit going to mod killed or what, this is bloody frustrating all round.

Time for me to pipe up. Sorry for the silence, but I have been in the grotto working double shifts wrapping presents, like any good elf trying to support a pure elf family with no history of mental illness. Good point about the sharp suit though. No defense there. It just feels good to look good.

I'm all for a good bandwagon. [vote:Mr Russell Sprouts]

mr russell sprouts: 3 (gospvg, Santanalian, Sharp Suit)

Not voted: 6 (zaphod79, gazchap, bobbyaro, mr russell sprouts, joans, goddess jasmine)

With 9 players alive, 5 votes are required for a lynch, and 5 nolynch votes are required to not lynch anybody.

Hmmm, now I'm starting to think this might get bandwaggoned too. Only 5 votes are needed, but, surely, a non-DP voter was mafia, right?

Has anyone got any insights/notes/secret secrets that might shed some light on what's happening?

Trooper was a non-DP voter who was Mafia.

Going back over the obvious.

We have at least 2 bad guys left - 1 mafia boss , 1 SK (we potentially have other roles with the hidden ones but we dont know anything about them).

Neither of the bad guys knows each other - its possible the Mafia boss did vote for Davpaz but i think its unlikely.

I think the SK will either be voting wherever he can or be very quiet but dont know - its really just hit and miss.

We also have out there the Marketing person (who's doing a better job than all of us at getting rid of the bad guys) and one elf note passer.

Russ makes sense to get rid of because he did not vote - I could be easily talked into swapping that for Gazchap for the same reason.

Also given that SharpSuit has actually posted again - is he just trying to be quiet and get ignored ?

Not saying much and just hiding in the background is a valid tactic and it *should* not work as well as it does on here just because there are so many quiet people to hide among

He's only on 3 so that would be a 4th - however I could put the 5th in and just end this

One never likes to be publicly outed as a quiet one. I could be sat here in 100 db rock music, screaming. You don't know for sure.

Anyway, here are some things I like about Christmas:

1.) Mince Pies
2.) Presents
3.) Time off work
4.) Christmas Dinner with at least five trimmings.
5.) Booze
6.) Parties

Can't speak for Russ, but what is there to explain? I'm just an elf, I've not received any notes, and so far I've not seen a compelling argument for voting for anyone, so I haven't.

Ironically the marketing guy and the note passers are doing our jobs overnight, and it seems like we're not really getting any useful info.
