If Gaz did kill Buffy then we can assume she didn't defend herself due to protecting someone else, which means:

She protected someone last night from a baddie attack, which means:

Said baddie loses a night action tonight.

So, silver linings, etc.

I was hoping to make it through to tomorrow because then my bloodlust will be gone, and I am just hoping to hit a bad guy tonight as that will at least contribute to my win condition. You would not believe the facepalm when I got rid of Buffy

Spike and Angel's role said that if they targetted someone defended by buffy, then they would take a beating so bad, they would take the next night to recover.
