Well, aside from the much hilarity Zaphod provided pretty much confirming that the cult were clueless, I have come to one conclusion:

I think I hate Trooper.

Is there, perchance, a mafia within (Or mayhap without) the mafia? Hence Malc being a roleblocker on investigation, but #2 being a mafia roleblocker.
If I'm the survivey roleblocker that SG found early, that means I blocked them last night, but there was still a kill, implying two people remain, if I'm not, then I'm just unlucky.
Or am I somehow #2 without knowing it? But having no team to go with me, but a label designed to get me killed and cause confusion? Certainly the mafia having two blockers would be very harsh.
Or maybe SG is lying, or been given false information.

None of this is getting me anything aside from a headache, because there are too many options (Including ones I'm not mentioning due to, you know, being not very good for my overnight health) and none of them come close to fitting into a vaguely complete picture... My instinct is pointing in one direction, but my heart is pointing in another, my soul just wants everyone to get along and my brain has gone on strike.

Whatever, I think I'm kicking Trooper in the nuts next time I see him. Trying to figure out what's going on with a full rule set is ok, trying to link what's going on when the rules as such they are are coming from people of unknown integrity is bastard hard, particularly when you know he can be... creative.

And I'm taking a break.

I've just realised, I'm being stupid... Mafia Roleblocker isn't a role, it's a function. Like Kill, recruit, purple...

So it's likely a one use button which stops all mafia from doing... stuff.
and if correct explains day 1 quite satisfactorily.

So, in summary.

Me, SG, Ian - all safe.
One of russ/nick - safe.
Gilly - Please don't be evil Gilly.

And also: I'd really like to know which existing numbers SG has investigated and aren't killers, so I stand a better chance of kill blocking overnight which people to not target overnight.

I know 2 that I probably shouldn't target.

I've kind of come to a conclusion.

The only thing that is a potential bother to that is the lack of kill on the 5th night - although I have a bit of an idea why.

I'll leave that there, see if anyone wants to add anything....

I think it's Gilly.

SG is safe. It'd be absurd to make up the role mafia roleblocker when it appeared to so obviously constrast with malc having just died and being a mafia who is also a roleblocker.
Ian is safe. I can't explain why here, just in case I'm wrong about Nick, but I'm convinced.
Both Russ and Nick claimed to have 1 button, which seems plausible. What doesn't seem so plausible is that one would see the other claim only one button (and the reaction) and think "That's a good idea, I'll copy that" - as if to prove this, people have been eyeing them ever since.

Which leaves Gilly. Who never voted for a mafia, Was part of the group of potential craster killerees mentioned earlier, has always been kind of there, kind of not, never really aligned herself with or against the mafia. Sided with me, but always made sure I took the front. But the thing which really bothered me is that I didn't die last night given what I'd done to Malc, I was kind of sure that I'd be killed of overnight but I wasn't, which indicates that the person doing the killing thought that I was unlikely to look at them.

Sorry Gilly, I really don't want to be a killing you and I rather hope I'm wrong and you can kick me next time you're around. But everything just kind of fits in a way that it just doesn't for anyone else. It could be that there's another angle which produces a similarly intact picture, and I'm staggeringly wrong, but unless someone else can tell me how Nights 1 and 5 went kill less, and why Nick would be incredibly dense in copying 'Russ the Suss', it's the only conclusion I can come to. :(

I can think of a few potential problems, but frankly, is someone had the foresight to set them up, they rather deserve to win. Or Trooper is a bastard.

It's really not me. Why is it you're assuming russ and nick are safe? And I didn't vote for Malc but I was here ready to when he made his roleclaim and I didn't want to jump on him til he'd a chance to explain. I then got held up away from here but returned well before the deadline to find the vote had been cast.

One answer would be goats.

If my logic is correct, one of them is safe as they have to be the mafia roleblockers (although I'm acutely aware this doesn't rule out also being mafia)

And then goats. (or to be more precise, a certain reading of the monty hall problem)

Congratulation Players

A monitor is revealed on the wall of each of your rooms.
Shown is sdg, she is standing in a room with a list of names and numbers on one wall, 1 button labelled "intercom" on another wall, and 1 button labelled "private intercom" on the third wall, and on the fourth wall a set of 16 buttons.
She looks up, you see a gas entering the room. She collapses.
The screen goes black, followed by four messages.

Code:
Player 16
Mafia
List
Kill

That's it, you are all done, no more bad guys in your midst.
Now I just need to press this button to let you out...

... actually, lets play one final game.

There are 5 of you left. You have till 10pm tonight to decide.

<a single button raises out of the floor>

If none of you press a button you will all win.
If one of you presses a button, that person will win, the rest of you won't.
If two of you press a button, both of you will win, the rest of you won't.
If more than two of you press a button, none of you will win.

Message me with what you would like to do with your button.

Carry on. Feel free to discuss in here, your intercoms have been turned back on.

Well done Mr Dave. Cracking effort that got us all out of a pinch!

Do we think that we've actually got it in us to not press any buttons today?

Question: who, now that the Mafia is dead, pressed any buttons on Day 5 when they were asked not to? Will anyone own up?

I will genuinely not press a button, but we cannot trust each other to not be 'the one' who presses it to save themselves, especially as there's an added safety net of still winning if a second person presses.

However, this is a decent place, and I am sure we will all not press a button, especially as we all had the same win condition.

Besides, after successfully routing or two mafia on two days, I rather feel like I've won anyway.

And would feel like I lost even if I won by betraying others trust.

Nah, I never get a good role. I figured out that my buttons didn't do anything after the "prize" debacle. I only pressed it once more after that and didn't get a response so I just didn't bother again.

Time up Players!

I'm very pleased to announce that the right thing happened in the end.

<presses the open button on the console>

A door appears in the wall of your room, outside is freedom, you step towards the door, feeling the fresh breeze on your face, you step through...

The camera on the monitor pans round and shows:

Mr Dave
Code:
Player 14
Town
Roleblocker

Slightly Green
Code:
Player 15
Town
Purpose

Nickachu
Code:
Player 6
Town
Self Protect

Mr Russell
Code:
Player 2
Town
Mafia Roleblock

All lying dead on the floor of their room

A pause...

The monitor flashes back into life and shows Saturnalian stepping through the door
Code:
Player 4
Town
Protect

Well done Saturnalian, you have earned your freedom, good job there is nobody left alive to witness your treachery.
