Now that's a funny thing to say...

As in you often get two people convinced the other is bad. One dies and is good, so everyone votes the other out. Turns out they were both misguided good guys.

I have no actual knowledge regarding TFF. So if I am lynched, don't assume she must be bad.

The problem with lists like this is, if you're bad, they give you a very good opportunity to spread misdirection and confusion. And we have to bear in mind that we potentially have a very strong baddie faction right now.
Plus, even if you're a goodie, at this stage in the game it's probably 90% wrong anyway.

Even so, it's information that can be looked over when new information comes to light. Especially if a lot of people do a similar list. The possibility of 10% being right is much better than the 0% we have to go on at the moment, surely?

I'm not sure how practical the pressie will be overnight (and at the weekend) - it might be worth retiring it at some point and bringing it back again later ?

I think GJ's right in that we shouldn't rush this right now *but* we also should make sure we dont let the day timeout - so even if people are not at work on Monday (I'm not - yipee!) they need to remember to check in

@ Trooper the issue with such lists are that people can get fixated on them - we had a game where the town basically tied themselves up over analyzing it again and again over one persons list when it was later revealed that they had an investigative role.

I'm assuming FOS on your list means 'dont know but dont trust' so removing those gets :

Trooper : Good
Curiosity : Good
MaliA : Good
sdg : Good
kalmar : Good
nickachu : Good

Thats a lot of good that your confident in ?

Malc : Bad

And why is Malc bad ? (I may have missed this if you brought it up yesterday)

Can we get someone else on a few votes and push them a bit? It's lonely up here in votesville.

Who else are we suss enough of to get them up a bit? Malc? TFF? A quiet one?

I'll repeat the bit you snipped.

"My list, based on nothing more than hunches"

and i'll also repeat from earlier this very day, which was also brought up yesterday a couple of times...

"We still don't have any more information than we did on day one when I made that list, so it is just as valid now as it was then. The fact that bobby was good makes it all the more likely that malc is bad, in my opinion. Highlighting it has made anything subsequent around that theory inadmissible, observer effect and all that."
Referring to my "just enough to not be suss" list.

Interesting that two people on my FOS list have jumped on this and said stuff that just increases my FOS level...

Right so talking to you increases you FOS level ?

I snipped because I didnt want to repost the whole thing and if this is all hunches why the difference between and FOS at me and 'bad' at Malc , i dont understand it therefore I was asking you to clarify and your basically going back to one of your early posts on day 1 and saying that Malc / SDG / Bobby had all 'said enough to slip under the wire at that stage' and were there sus so picked bobby at random.

That was proved wrong , so now of the other two you've chosen Malc and decided that rather than sus he's "bad" , I'm just trying to understand the distinction between the two , if this is really just that he had not said the right level for you by an randomly chosen point on day 1 then fine but I dont see that as enough evidence to say he's bad ?

I may be suss but I am good boy/girl

I really can't see what point there is to me telling you who I think is santa or the jnr investigator or why I think that, if I'm right then they will get more attention and they might be put on the wrong list.

and that would be bad for the good boys and girls.

And I don't want that.

I also don't see how that would benefit me by saying it if I was bad (all it's done is drawn attention to me and caused a few people to vote for me)

I think Nickachu and curio are goblins/the grinch and that's that.

Oh and statistics for you , there are 16 players left and there are between 3 and 6 bad guys

If your good the odds of you hitting a good person are between 9/15 (60%) and 12/15 (80%) on a single random vote
If your good the odds of you hitting a bad person are between 3/15 (20%) and 6/15 (40%) on a single random vote

You putting down a list of 16 players and randomly going 'good' / 'bad' next to them statistically give you much more than 10% accuracy however its just as meaningless as the dice (who was it that used to do those - SG?) would be.

If you have real feelings one way or the other post them because it might convince people your right or wrong.
If you have nothing either way then asking other people to explain their reasons may help you to make up your mind (which is what i'm trying to do).

Saying that people are *more* suspicious for actually talking and trying to work things out *is* suspicious in itself , its almost as if your saying people should not question anything you say but do what you want (however right now if we all stop talking I think Curio will go as he's the only person who's even close to getting a vote right now and yet he's on your list as 'good' ?)

What i'm saying is suspicious, is people who question me on stuff that i've already talked about multiple times, and has been the subject of discussion by others and the driver for one person being put on the naughty list. It's difficult to miss, yet you "missed" it.

If anything, you'll have to agree, putting up a list like that has cause a bit more conversation to be looked over when things come to light in the future, which is no bad thing.

Yeah, reasonable thing to try trooper. I guess that written down it seems more definitive compared to what it probably is - a collection of hunches. To good townies, seeing that they are on your good list reinforces the thought that it's genuine rather than misdirection.

Haha! I jumped on it because it's rubbish (you're wrong about me for a start (I'm a good little boy), plus you have 9 people listed as bad or FOS when the theoretical maximum number of bad guys is 6). I don't care if it's full of "hunches" or not - my point remains that the bad guys are the strongest voting block and could use such lists for all sorts of nefarious deeds.

[I typed out more on how the bad guys could use such info, but it seems rather silly to tell them if they haven't worked it out yet, so I deleted it.]

I followed your logic for Bobby , if you look back through what *i've* posted you'll see that , however what I'm missing is the step from "these are 3 people who have said enough to try and fly under the radar therefore they are suspicious" to : two of them are good (Bobby and SDG) and one of them is evil (Malc)

However if you are that sure then :

What if trooper is bad? Or just misguided

People were saying I was bad in the first two days

I barely said anything as I was really busy.

That's basically what it boils down to. Also why would a theory that throws up 3 people be right when one of them is known good and one of them now trooper is saying is good? Mean I am bad?

Also also why would I come out and say I think I know who Santa is and the jnr investigator if I was bad?

That's just going to draw attention to me and have people voting for me (like it is)

Malc

Hi folks,

Sorry I have been so quiet, I have been such a good boy that my Mum has turned up for a pre-crimbo visit so have been kinda busy all day, tried to check in earlier but was too much for me to catch up on.

SDG I can't say any more than I did previously with regards to your suspicion about Nik and myself being linked, he could be scummy scum for all i know but I know that I am a good little boy.

Thanks all for passing me the parcel, I now have a super dupper awesome fantastic prize which I will share with you all on the morrow (assuming it works...). Yay for winning pass the parcel while away :DD

Sorry to hear about poor little Grimothy getting put on the bad list :( Damn goblins, we really need to hit one soon, and with that in mind i will put a vote in for the current leader [vote:Curiosity]. The only way the town is going to help Santa is by acting, if we have a no vote day then it just lets the Grinch and co get further ahead. Admittedly if we do screw up again and help them out it is bad but we need action, and Curio seems to be upsetting the most people at the moment.

I am going to read back over the last 2 days to see if anything else jumps out at me but I feel pretty lost as to who is a bad un at the moment (hence voting like a sheep)

I haven't voted yet, as I don't want a repeat of yesterday's naughtying. I have a hunch about a few people, but that's all it is - a hunch.

It could be , I'm not sure about you as you've not done anything to make me suspicious , but out of all the players here your the only one that trooper says is bad so i'll go with him.

Why are you so swayed by Trooper? I'll admit I don't think Trooper is a baddie, but you just did some pretty shaky logic there

Allow me to stick my neck out and say that Malc happens to be top of my "good" list. And no, it's not because we're in any group, I am just a generic good boy and don't want to see us lynch yet another one of the good guys.

Malc

the thing is though, if you're proven to be a baddy then all this is hogwash.

If you have another suggestion I'm happy to consider it :)

Sorry I didn't notice how long we had left for today, since we have lots of time it is silly to rush into a conclusion, as long as we do add someone to the list.

SDG you have the parcel at the moment btw.

Going to be pretty busy myself today but will be able to check in tonight and be more active from then onwards.

The question I am pondering is what to do with my one off prize from pass the parcel, since it isn't a recurring power I will obviously share all with you on the morrow. You will all then have to decide if you believe me or not with regards to what it is/happened as a result of the ability.

Has anyone else gotten a prize yet?

I would suggest that all the people who do win prizes share all details tomorrow (game tomorrow that is) early on in the day, since it isn't a role claim etc

Nice way for the town to gather a little more information regardless of what the powers are.

What has that pig ever done to you?

Besides I am not sure us talking is a good idea Nik, SDG will just think we are in a group together ;)

And me posting this will obviously make sdg think it even more, the paranoid little bunny
