Well, yes. But if we kill someone today then we'll be down three good people.

Only assuming we lynch the wrong person!

We always, always, always do.

One day it will be different! But not today if you keep your vote as it is.

I may have beaten this drum in the past, but information is power, voting is what gives us information.
So having said that, someone who pushes for a no-lynch is giving us information...

Oh, and what exactly is the plan for tomorrow if we don't lynch today? No lynch again? At what point do we actually start using the only real power we have as a town?

As soon as it becomes useful / as soon as we have a clue who to go for. For all you know everyone in the town has their own power.

They don't, but - you know.

Oh Hell no, I want to vote for Trooper now. He'll probably join in and vote for himself, what with the masses and masses of data a random vote always reveals.

We wait for day three, where someone will claim as the detective and say that Curio is bad - Curio will counter-claim and we'll lynch him.

LIKE ALWAYS!

Oh wait ;)

Unfortunately that information is usually only that they are an idiot... and that hardly distinguishes them from the masses.

So, I'm a bit late to the party but would still like to jabber wild accusations if that is acceptable? I will be doing much-o jabbering in the evening because work is very busy at the moment due to staff shortages and I'm actually having to do stuff instead of play on my phone... sucks to be me, but what's new there then?

Well, i know not who to vote for, I can see an argument for both situations, but i fall slightly on the vote side. Plus it gives us the slim chance of having a ludicrous claim. As such, [vote:Trooper]

He's playing both sides!

Personally I'd feel uncomfortable voting Trooper out of the jungle since brain usage is rare around this town (suspect we might be in Liverpool) and he seems to eager to use his...

I find it a bit odd that you decided that voting along with someone you don't know can trust was a good idea. If you're so keen to vote, why didn't you choose randomly yourself?

squirt: 1 (zaphod79)
trooper: 2 (Grim..., Bobbyaro)
grim...: 2 (Trooper, Ian Fairies)

Not voted: 15 (davpaz, malc, craster, mr russell, kovacsc, gazchap, thefirefaerie, malc74, goddess jasmine, alberto, nickachu, thevision, squirt, slightly green, sdg)

With 20 players alive, 11 votes are required for a lynch, and 11 nolynch votes are required to not lynch anybody.

That's... The worst reason ever. It's perfectly fair to vote for Trooper - he's the one that thinks we should be voting.

WHAT? His own identity is the ONLY thing he knows. That's the possibly the most nonsensical thing I've ever read in a scum game, and Kovacs and Malc play in most of them!

Grim... Wasn't acting quite as much the idiot at the time, and why not choose a random person someone has already voted for. Better than everyone choosing a different person and not getting a consensus

:D I don't think she meant that I choose "myself" to vote for! I think she meant that I should have randomly chosen somebody, not been led by someone else.

I'd be interested in hearing from bobby as to why he voted for me after he said what he said.
I'm not sure grim... can actually be that idiotic to call for a no lynch on the first day and out himself as scum like that, unless it is a cunning double bluff...

You know how when I said we never ever reached a decision about whether a first day lynch was a good thing? We never did. So calling it a scum tell seems a bit of a stretch.

If I was a betting man, I would bet on 6 of those people being bad in some way.

At this stage it is just a matter of typing in a name and seeing what that tells us...

Numbers, names and patterns people, numbers, names and patterns.

So, three Mafia, one SK, one Cult leader, one ...?

Pros of a first day no-lynch: likely saves the life of a townie
Cons: removes any chance of lynching a bad guy, leaves you with no information to help fathom things out on day 2 leaving you in the same position of ignorance as on day 1

Logically, if a no-lynch is a good idea on day 1 (which I would dispute hotly), then it is also a good idea on day 2, day 3, day 4 etc until the point when the bad guys outnumber the good guys, at which point it's practically too late to save ourselves. So, to those in favour of a no-lynch... when WOULD you start lynching? What signal would you be waiting for?

I'm sure we have tried to have this out a number of times but never actually got anywhere - so lets agree that we'll talk about this after things have finished here.

I'm with trooper that a 1 in X chance of hitting a bad guy is better than a 0% chance which is what we will have with a no lynch vote, its quite possible to hit the SK or a cult leader right from the start and basically allow the town an 'easy' win and even if the first day never gets anywhere it at gives a few crumbs to go on with peoples 'random' choices for votes.

As for SDG's question i voted for Squirt because Grim... already had - and day one even when everyone participates rarely ends in enough actual votes to get us anywhere so it had a better chance of getting enough votes rather than me pick a name out of a hat.

I don't think I follow you...? As events unfolded with grim voting then trooper and zaphod joinin in I felt it a bit odd. I can understand votes flying around for anyone on day one but two people happily voting along with someone, for another person (who hadn't even spoken, and it wasn't like they had been quiet for days) is quite strange. Maybe not for voter number two, but number three for sure. Worth noting, that's all I'm saying.
What did you think I meant?!

I find it a bit odd that you decided that voting along with someone you don't know can trust was a good idea. If you're so keen to vote, why didn't you choose randomly yourself?

WHAT? His own identity is the ONLY thing he knows. That's the possibly the most nonsensical thing I've ever read in a scum game, and Kovacs and Malc play in most of them!

[vote:sdg] because there's no place for clods in this town

I don't think I follow you...? As events unfolded with grim voting then trooper and zaphod joinin in I felt it a bit odd. I can understand votes flying around for anyone on day one but two people happily voting along with someone, for another person (who hadn't even spoken, and it wasn't like they had been quiet for days) is quite strange. Maybe not for voter number two, but number three for sure. Worth noting, that's all I'm saying.
What did you think I meant?!

I thought you meant "why didn't he choose himself randomly?" :D

I'll change my vote to whoever starts to accumulate the most votes so we can get a lynch going. Otherwise, for the reasons above, day 1's wasted.

Well,

it has been busy, and always certain people start to stick out as dodgy, but that's partly because they're speaking the most.

I can see sense in any of SDG, grim..., trooper, alberto being dodgy, but I think that's just jumping at staws.

Being rational grim... always has that POV so I don't think you can conclude anything by that.

SDG is a bundle of energy, and I don't think anything suspect is going to come of that, trooper and alberto are being talkative and attracting attention that way, but I really don't think we should hold that against anyone.

So I don't know, I really don't know, maybe of the list above, Ian is the one I feel the most suspect about, because of the vote anyone mentality, but then I feel like that too, and I guess being on our own might make us want to leap on others in a "at least it's not me" way.

Bah.

Time to look back again in more detail I think

Malc

Ah, I knew I missed one, SG!

voting someone randomly, perhaps to try and dissacciociate themselves from a team mate later?

Makes me think Malc74 and he might have something going on? But it's probably nothing!

Or, y'know, all the people who aren't talking could be dodgy as well. I really don't think there's any useful information to glean from anything that's been said so far.
