Though you can interrogate before 10pm if ya want. Could catch the bad guys on the hop if ya do.

Hate to interrupt all those people reading the rules for the first time but a suggestion for Jock - unless we're going down to the wire for time if you are going to pick someone to investigate i think it makes sense to say who your thinking of targeting and why in the thread here so people can chime in one way or the other - that backing or distancing from what will turn out to be good / bad roles is going to be a good way to find out who is who (since we will not have voting histories)

Oh, I have every intention of being a guided missile rather than going off solo.

The bad news for you lot is that I will be guided by myp.

Not a lot to go on, as ever for a first day. Are you going to wait for quiet peoples to speak up, or just go for an interrogation?

I personally think everyone looks a little shifty.

The only one not to say anything is TheVision, I think, after having a quick rewind on my rolling news report.

10pm deadline people, there will be no extentions, if you miss it you don't get your action, don't forget you can preload your actions in case Jock gets all impetuous.

Has it occurred to anyone, Jock especially, that since the day ends when he interrogates then he can catch bad guys on the hop with swift actions? They may not get their block/kill/whatever in in time, so while due OPEN deliberation is vital in the absence of any voting records (as per Zaphod's post), there's equally something to be said for Jock hitting fast and hard later on as he starts to get some hunches/inklings about folk.

I have no idea, but then it's early days and always a bit of a shot in a dark.

And as others have noted, people might not be what they seem anyway.

Not true. If I act precipitously, then the interrogation happens early, but everyone still has until 10pm to get night actions in.

I mentioned you might be trying to send someone a message, as we can't vote ourselves, essentially all we can do is bring stuff to the attention of Jock and let him make his own mind up as to if it's worth it or not.

Ok, so if you can only act in character in this thread, and Russ wants to see someone's head hacked off then surely he's a baddie unless (a) i'm reading too much into this acting "in character" malarkey or (b) he's an inside operative at CTU or (c) he has sympathetic leanings towards the forrin's.

Either way, it's suspicious.

The bolded bit in the rules does:

Quote:
Days will last 24 hours and will finish at 10pm each night, or sooner if Jock picks a person to interrogate early and all actions have been sent.

But the stuff I based my post on is more recent... you're lagging behind the curve Jock, this is a fast paced high stakes rollercoaster ride where you have to be at the front of the car to win the day!

(maybe Trooper just mis-typed though)

I would say that yes Jock could move quickly - but I dont see the specific advantage to pulling a quick investigation *unless* the baddies have some time related stuff (which considering this is a Trooper game is possible)

*Even* if Jock knows who a baddie is , he can throw out accusations and see who responds in what way which would give him more of an insight into whats going on than just going for them as the flashy digital clock flicks to 10:01

I read troopers stuff that anyone with a night action needs to make sure its in before the cut off point which is different to a normal game where there is a period of night where there would be more of a chance to look back and ponder over an action.

Mali - talks too much.
TheVision - doesn't talk at all.

Consider my wossnames tickled by those three.

So, this is obviously a bit of a day one crapshoot. I'm leaning towards spending some quality time with Russ this evening, but I'm open to persuasion. If Russ wants to provide some defence, or if the rest of you want to push in a certain direction, I'm all ears.

I'd take TheVision. I see him wandering around nearby, but he's not saying anything.

I've read that in these kinds of situations, people always wish they had acted on the quiet ones and never did.

I don't care though, because if we lose it's all your fault :)

I have to say that the hacksawing off a terrorist head is from 24 season 1 where Jack hacks off the head of a guy he is interrogating so he can go to the leader of a terrorist cell and go 'hey I killed this guy you hate, now SHOW me where the BOMB IS!!' A few of you may have seen it.

My hunch would be to interrogate TheVision but that's only because he's being quiet. Fading into the background always seems to work and we always say kill the quiet ones. But then we never do.

Interrogate TheVision pls.

RIGHT. I'm off to practice my face-twisting expressions of personal torment in a minute, so this is it.

TheVision, please pull up a chair! Then tie yourself to it. And hold onto these lengths of exposed cable....
