Oh no! The Utopia has been shattered. Deputy Mayor Roy G Biv has been murdered! He was stabbed and doused in red paint.

There are Reds in the eco-dome. They must be stopped!

People can vote for someone to be exiled into the harsh wasteland outside the dome. A majority will see that person placed before the Mayor, who gets the final decision on sending them out.

[playerlist]
Mr Russell
MaliA
Gilly
Trooper
DavPaz
Grim...
GazChap
Kovacsc
Slightly Green
Bobbyaro
Craster
Zaphod79
Malc
Alarm
Goddess Jasmine
[/playerlist]

Day ends at a lynch, or 1.30pm Tuesday.

8 votes for an exiling. 10 for a day ending without an exile.

Have at it!

What is the purpose of these peoples revolution? We live in a wonderful place! I can't believe people are trying to ruin it. I'm going to go and tend to the vegetables and herb garden. If anyone wants to join me later, I'm doing a bbq using all organic hand grown ingredients and fresh meat from the domes butcher. My latest batch of cider is ready as well so I'll be serving that.
Maybe that will help us 'weed' (lol) out these reds, since either they will be too grumpy to come along or they'll come along and realise how good and groovy things are here and then give up these crazy ideas!

I'm certainly not going to go off and work on a garden, not when we have a serious issue at hand that needs to be dealt with. Our utopia is under threat, we need to do something about it now, before it gets any worse.
We need to find out who the reds are somehow, and rid us of them.

Does it stop being a utopia if something goes wrong?

Does the thing going wrong have to be above a certain threshold of badness? Would a shelf collapsing in a utopia make it not a utopia?

I would say yes, it is no longer a utopia if someone has been murdered, and I would put murder pretty high above the badness threshold, wouldn't you?

Just who exactly is in this dome with us anyway?

Green Mayor - We know we have a mayor, but for some reason he or she (I'll just use he from now on for everybody, don't read anything in to that) is hiding from us all? Pretty much unkillable, the reds can't kill him till they get the blues, and i assume he will veto the vote if they get voted for?
Green Miscreant - We know there is an annoying bastard in here with us, we have all lived here long enough to know that. I assume he will be trying to cause havoc and will make people think other people are reds.
Red Leader - The reds must have a leader, this is too organised to be just a random murder. I assume he will know who they are conspiring with, but probably don't know if they have any supporters.
Red Revolutionary - There must be reds willing to take drastic action for their cause, or we wouldn't have had the murder in the first place. They must know who their leader is.
Blue Chief of Police - We know the mayor has created a blue division to try and flush out the reds. Does the mayor know who the blues are, or was he not told for his own safety?
Blue Deputy - Safety in numbers, more than one blue is a good thing, they can take over if things go bad.
Magenta - I have a feeling that there is a crazy person in here that just wants everyone dead, don't know why, but i'm pretty certain that is the case.

Everyone else must have an allegiance one way or the other, are you on the side of blue, green or red?

Looking at all that, they way I see it is.

The Mayor is superpowerful while any blues are alive.
Nobody has any overnight protection available, so finding out what the police find out is going to be very difficult without exposing them.
I'm assuming that the revolutionaries can talk to each other without us finding out.
I'm also assuming the police can talk to each other without us finding out.

It's going to be tricky for us to win, i'm not sure how we are going to get good information without the reds identifying the police and killing them.

Anyway, I don't mind helping you to practice, it's the pro-creation bit that puts me off. :ninja:

I'm just a green Goddess with no special powers I'm afraid. I don't want you to vote for me because we will be a (wo)man down, but at least I know you wouldn't be lynching a power role.

You are correct. The they in that sentence was supposed to refer to the Mayor himself, but it really didn't read that way, looking back.
Either way, it seems the mayor doesn't know who the blues are, nor can he veto himself, so for him it will just be as much a shot in the dark as anyone else. Not quite as powerful a role as I thought, to be honest.

It looks as if the only thing the mayor can contribute is stopping a lynch they don't agree with - but given they won't know anything more about the person being voted on it probably won't help (and they would have to be pretty gutsy to stop one of the towns major powers)

Hey all, whats been going on? I was *ahem* checking the dried 'herbs' to see how flammable they were, the tobacco still isn't fully matured so i had to test it in a bong *ermmm* with the water filtration pipe, then fell asleep next to the lovely green lettuce. When I woke up I noticed that some fascist has planted a row of Ruby Chard, which is a bizzar mix of Green and Red!!

Whow, where is Deputy Mayor Roy G Biv? I need to let him know

WHAT??? That's awful!

I am off to go check the herb again, see if its any better, anyone want to come?

VOTE UPDATE

goddess jasmine: 2 (Grim..., MaliA)

Not voted: 13 (mr russell, gilly, trooper, davpaz, gazchap, kovacsc, slightly green, bobbyaro, craster, zaphod79, malc, alarm, goddess jasmine)

With 15 players alive, 8 votes are required for a lynch, and 8 nolynch votes are required to not lynch anybody.

http://www.beexcellenttoeachother.com/counter/

[vote:Goddess Jasmine] for now, unless a more likely candidate turns up, the single worse thing we can do is note to vote for anyone.

I'm not sure that lynching is the best thing to do, really.

As we don't know how many of each colour there are, should we be holding off? Maybe we can get some insight from the first night actions.

The saving grace is that the reds have to be sure before they claim revolution. Hopefully there are a few normal reds to make it unclear. Even just one has the potential to muddy the waters, which would be good, the leader won't want to claim revolution and roleclaim if he could be wrong.

Can I get a clarification rule-wise, though? Obviously the red leader can order a revolutionary to kill, but can he order multiple kills in one night if they have multiple revolutionaries? People are gonna be dropping like flies if that's the case, and if that is the case then maybe lynching is a better ploy.
