You wake up and look around. You're in a very large square white room. There are multiple doors leading off in each direction, and there appears to be a lot of other people there too, all looking as confused as you feel.

You have no idea how you got here. In fact... you have no idea who you are.

"Good morning!"

A voice, distorted, rings out from a large television fastened to a wall.

"Welcome to my little game. Please, look around you. A host of people with amnesia, and all of it my doing. These people may seem nice, may seem just like you, but rest assured they are not. Amongst you are several people who will kill you as soon as look at you. Within your ranks lie organisations; some criminal and others benign in intention. Some of you are professionals, some harbour secrets, some hide nothing, and some... well, this would be no fun if I told you everything."

People look around, fear starting to take a hold on their faces.

"Each day you can choose, as a group, to eliminate one of your peers, and if so you will never hear from them again. Each night I will open the door, and all of you, individually, can choose two people; one to target and one to seek contact with. After this point I will return to you your memories, and you can do whatever it is that you were born to do. Be warned, though, come the morning you will not remember anything other than who you were pointing your fingers at... or anything I choose to tell you.

Now you may select someone for elimination, or decide against it."

Everyone looks round, more confused than before. Each person has their name on a badge on their chest.

The screen goes dark, and text appears upon it.

Like some others, I am also going to [vote:nolynch] as there is literally no reason at this moment to suspect one person over any other, nobody knows a thing and I'd rather start with at least the information that hopefully we will gather tonight.

It doesn't, but at this point, assuming all of us retain no memories, there is no way anyone is acting suspiciously because they'd have no reason to do so. Anything other than a nolynch would be an utter shot in the dark. And we don't even know who or what we're aiming for.

Oh look, the TV has changed. I suppose the big bad didn't tell his IT guy he planned to change some stuff. Or something.

Oh, I agree completely with this,* but am confused why people are saying it will get us information.

After the lynch period the gates are open at night, and everyone has a chance to try and discover things. I'd rather have that 'discovery' period to at least try for some information to lynch somebody on, rather than randomly select a name for no reason at all.
