I pushed open the door to the club, and was instantly overwhelmed by the commotion, this didn't seem like the usual scene. Either drinks were free again, or something had gone down.
I called over a waitress and asked her to tell me all the details...

"Oh my god!" She babbled.

"You're babbling" I said.

She just looked at me.

"Oh my god!" She babbled again. "Last night a terrible thing happened!"

By the look on her face it was either murder, or she had broken a nail. I guess at the former.

"Grim... Has been found.... Dead! According to what people are saying, on opening the door to her boudoir they found her lying across her bed, a dress has been wrapped around her head
She was stabbed and her throat slit, the gashes had been covered with adhesive tape. There was blood spatter covering the walls of the room from what seemed like a frenzied attack.
In the bathroom, the tub was partially filled with bloody water."

Another day, another murder to solve, or was it linked to the last?

Grim... was a Townie She was a wealthy widow who just wanted to listen to the music.

Wealthy Widow wrote:
Your rich husband died many many years ago, and you have lived a life of comfort ever since. Every night, dolled up in full make-up and fur coat, you come and listen to the house band. A lady of a certain age, Jazz is your only real love, and the band is actually pretty good, especially that skiffle player.

Speaking of music, not all the band had turned up to play today, the trumpet player is missing, not that anyone seems to care...

Malc was a Townie who was the house band trumpet player (Modkill by request due to lack of time to play)

House band trumpet player wrote:
Jazz is all well and good, but sometimes you just want to play in a marching band.

Prizes for being in character, sticking to the theme and keeping the story going.

You will be voting to hand someone over to the cops.

Voting rules are as follows:
http://www.beexcellenttoeachother.com/counter/
With 20 players alive, 11 votes are required for a lynch, and 15 nolynch votes are required to not lynch anybody.

If a majority is not reached, at the end of the "day" the person with the most votes will be handed over to the cops, regardless of whether it is an overall majority or not. if there is a draw, then the day will be extended for a length of time that i decide, where as soon as someone takes the lead, they will be voted out.
If it is still a draw after the "golden vote" period, then all players who have the highest number of votes will be taken away to the big house.

Day 2 ends Thursday at 2pm

Can a mod do the dead thread thing please for gospvg, malc and grim...

Well that's a pretty mess and no mistake. Guess we'll regret offing the cleaner now.

Well call me a skittle and bowl me over! This is a pickle and no mistake!

Yeah, I can picture it now, the lonely widow, waiting alone, all this time, listening to her true love; Jazz music. Upon hearing of the death of the trumpet player, she is distraught, agonized! And decides to end it all, there can be only one scenario here, it must be suicide!

Hey, this be a murder scene. That trumpet player was a rank amateur. She'd still have stuck around to hear the sweet, sweet sound of my bass.

No Mafia kill, though. I heard tell the Mob was in Town...

It's time to stop playing by the rules. Time to make some people squeal, get some truth floating around.

No more Mr Nice Guy. It's time to ask the hard questions nobody else has the gentleman parts to ask....

Why do people in this town come to the club so freakin' early? I'm not making breakfast. This isn't a breakfast club. You can have these pickled onions if you're really hungry. *belch*

Ummm... The Widow???

I know very little, but either:

The night timed out
The Mafia were blocked
The Mafia's target was blocked
The Mafia and SK went for the same person
The Mafia found the informant
The Mafia decided to embrace peace, and chose not to kill.

I was visited by a prostitute last night, probably sent by the chief at the coffee bar where I work, he's a hard grafting sonofagun, but a fair one, and rewards his workers well. So, given that, the prostitute didn't block the mafia, the target, or the serial killer. I doubt these mafioso types would pass up on a kill, to thin the town down a little, just like the water in this gin of mine.

I didn't think of that, so that's probably why I'm only making the coffee, not running the show. in fact, why am I in this bar and not doing my job right now? After I was clearly wrong about the late gosvpg, I would consider the three that jumped on quick succession after my implication are quite worth a look.

I'm of a mind to believe this MaliA character. I doubt a bad guy would admit to spending a night with a hooker on a night when the Mafia failed to strike.

I surveyed the scene sadly. The widow might have been a bit of a weird ol' bat but she didn't deserve this. I was still shocked that gospvg turned out innocent. In all my experience investigating cases like this, when someone managed to make mistakes about their own life in general conversation that then someone was a liar. Maybe all those cleaning chemicals had driven her mad.
I lit a cigarette and took a long drag. I had to try and think this through. This MaliA character was familiar to me, maybe he'd sold me a cup of Joe before. God knows I drank enough of it, needed it to get me through the long days after a night with a pretty woman. He said he'd been with a prostitute last night? I wouldn't choose that for myself but I'd never had a problem getting a woman.
The barman was acting really weird, saying he wanted to hand MaliA to the cops for what he'd said. I didn't think he'd mark himself if he was guilty so I was inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt for now, but mayeb this barman was willing to get a bandwagon going on anyone.

I glanced over at Goddess Jasmine. She'd been fairly quiet yesterday but when a few people had pointed at gospvg, then a vote for Bobbyaro had come, she'd chipped in with a vote for gospvg. Was this a ploy to get a vote back on track after her cohort had been mentioned? I wasn't sure, but it felt like a good theory. Those damn Hollywood types were more trouble than they were worth.

I sat back, considering. I'd watch to see what happens but at the moment I had an idea of who I was most suss of.

Well, it's been a long day today, full of loss and mourning. Let's pep this place up a bit and get some jazz on the go.

I may be so caught up in my amazing bass playing today that I'm not around a great deal for talking. Jazz takes inspiration and concentration.

[vote:Alarm]

He was a big bandwagonner for poor gospvg.
