I'd agree with the first three, although my mafia (or mob in this case) detection skills are usually lacking. APOD could be in there, but if there was 4 of them, surely it's already game over.

The townies who are left really need to make as much noise as possible and call people out directly on their voting, otherwise the bad guys can just do what theyve been doing all game which is sit about doing nothing. This is the most boring game ever as a result.

So if the non-kill last night was because the doc and hooker got the right people then in theory the baddies have another go at killing and since they know who they are there must be very few targets left for them to choose from.

Townies deserve a special award for managing to lynch one person only so far and thats the bloody cop !

I do wonder if the lack of voting is based in laziness or rules constraints that we don't know about. APoD for example doesn't appear to be able to vote normally.

Apod is the only person who has a voting restriction, with the proviso "where possible" on it...

New rule proposal:
Failure to lynch (unless a nolynch verdict is reached) means a random person (possibly a random townie, rather than just anyone) gets killed off anyway.

Hey dead peeps....

Sorry for the quietness, had a busy weekend but I guess had the game been likely to come to a quicker conclusion, I would have been more likely to make extra effort to post more. There were 3 baddies left at the end, I was one of them and there was no reason to say anything in the thread for us, even after they started voting for Bobby. All we needed to do was wait for the night so we could kill anyone else off. The town were never going to manage lynch any of us. The only thing that would have delayed their inevitable demise was on-going role blocking, we could have gone on for days in that situation.

The town were pretty much screwed from the formation of an underground mob and the fact we had a someone who had a dual role in the "mafia" so we had 3 good targets from the start.

Kov says there are four mafia, but one of them's actually a cop (but didn't come forward sooner, or tell us who the don is, because of magic), one of them was actually town, and another was a serial killer, but the last one was 'underground mafia', whatever that means. It was impossible to work out what the fuck was going on, and as nobody was talking there was no way to get any more information either. Even when I practically caught Bobby red-handed, nothing happened. And why did Alarm come forward? None of it made any sense.

It's because there was so much weird crap to read that I was so confused. Everything contradicted everything else. Two things. Yes I missed the W. That was an error. However being as I'd made the ridiculous post to try and make anything happen, I then hoped that would be picked up on.

Yes, the odds against the town were pretty bad from the start, but a run of bad luck meant that the first 5 people to die were all townies! Add that to the fact that this game lasted for 7 days, and there was only one lynch, for someone who had roleclaimed as a town power role. You will forgive me if I don't have any sympathy for the town ;)

I'll go back to say this was just the weirdest game to get your head around even knowing the dual role stuff - for the poor people who didnt even get that it was worse , and then the complete lack of talking from anyone just made it painful at times.

I probably won't play the next game anyway (the complexity probably didn't affect my participation), however, I would suggest an absolute, plain vanilla game next time around, with no special rules so that people can get back to the principles of the game without second guessing role attributes.

We did that a couple of games ago :)
I think the most successful game of recent history was the blind scum game, which was all second guessing roles! :D

I was considering running an "endless day" game at some point in the future. Where there are just mafia and town, no night power roles, and the only thing to go on is talking and lynching.

Yes , however everyone know that was the conditions going into that - a lot of people thought this was a basic game , and it took a long time for the fact that it wasnt to become clear - I think even having my death which was the first of the dual role things explained a bit better may have helped (this isn't a dig at you but a lot of people just took that as a joke "oh he's the mafia don .... whoops no he's not")

The other thing which i think needs to come back in a little is balance , on a basic game I think the proportions were something like 3 or 4 mafia to 20 players ? , some of these themed and special games throw that right out with one side or another really overpowered - although even if this one was perfectly balanced it still would not have made a difference for the town - just not lynching was suicide.

Mr Dave hasnt done one of his stats things in a while but the other thing to consider is that not all players of the game are equal , in general i'm a pretty bad player (for a long time I was statistically the worst) , having a split of good players vs bad and a split of power roles seems to work better (I think in one of the previous games Grim... was really disappointed when he died early on because it was the first time he'd been a plain vanilla player in ages).
