0 Recruited Carneys
You have been recruited by the Chief Carney, who is X. Together you wish to take over this town and get everyone to join your travelling carnival.

Your win condition is now Carney, but you retain any other abilities or secondary win conditions that you previously possessed.

1 Gambling Townie
You’re on the side of the Town, but you also like a bit of a flutter. Each night, you MUST bet some or all of your last 100 pounds on who you think will die overnight. You will be given 5-1 odds on this by me.

Your day job is working as a vet

Your win condition is Town
Secondary win condition – Get to (exactly) 501 pounds before you die or the game ends

1 Egotistical Townie
You know there are Mafia in the town. You know they need to be eliminated, and you know you’re the best person to do it. So why won’t the others listen? Your plans are clearly the best, and in lieu of any actual evidence, you’re going to have to make something up so they listen to you. You must not, under any circumstances, reveal or make any hints about this role to anyone.

You run the local bakery.

Your win condition is Town
Secondary win condition – starting on DAY TWO, you must tell a big, controversial lie each day, to satisfy your attention-seeking ways.

1 Hooker
You’re the town hooker, but you’re picky about your clientele. Each night you can choose who you’re going to spend the night with (or choose to spend it alone). They will know that they’ve spent the night with the hooker, and have been unable to take any action that night, but they will not know who the hooker is... probably because you wear a gimp mask or something. Or maybe you force them to wear one. That’s not important right now.

Your ‘cover’ is that you sell perfume.

Your win condition is Town

1 Teacher Townie
You’re a Townie, and you’re also the local teacher.

Your win condition is Town
Extra credit – Act like a teacher and take great joy in correcting minor errors in a patronising manner.

1 Townie Romeo
You’re a Townie, and you recently slept with the person you’ve always been admiring from afar, Craster. You know them well enough to know that they’re definitely a Townie. You love that person so much now that you’d do anything to keep them alive, though to maintain cover, you are not allowed to communicate with them outside of the 'town square'.

You run the local record shop.

Your win condition is Town
Secondary win condition – Keep Craster alive at all costs

1 Righteous Hand of God
You have a highly sharpened blade, a white jacket, and the burning fire of righteousness in your heart. This town is beset with sinners. There are Mafia, adulterers, and madmen, their brains addled by drugs into thinking that this is a game. You must cleanse this town of all of these, especially the vilest of sinners – the adulterers and the junkies.

To your mind, adulterers are evil, and they hide from the sight of God by having an unacceptably low contribution to the dialogue. Junkies are convinced they are in a game, and bow to a false idol called only ‘GM’. They too must die.

Your ‘cover’ is that you’re the local priest.

You win condition is Kill Everyone
Secondary win condition – kill five 'sinners'

1 Regretful Townie
You’ve been getting along fine in the town for some time now, but then you stupidly went and got drunk and slept with Slightly Green. Though you know for a fact that he’s a Townie, he’s always been a bit weird, and now he’s gone full blown puppy dog stalker on you. Maybe in all this confusion he might, y’know, get sidelined permanently. That’d be kinda neat.

You run the local laundrette.

Your win condition is Town
Secondary win condition – Slightly Green must die!

1 Bloodthirsty Townie
You’re a Townie, but secretly you really get off on watching people get strung up or beaten to death, you weird kinky freak. You’d prefer the Mafia to be eradicated from within your midst, just so long as you can videotape some of the brutal death action and get your kicks to it at night.

You run the local vegetarian and health food shop.

Your win condition is Town
Secondary win condition – To achieve this condition there must be a lynch on every night of the game. I will consider giving you a pass if the first night passes without a lynch, as long as you try hard to get one.

1 Farming Townie.
You're a farmer. You hate the Mafia and want to take your pitchfork to them.

Your win condition is Town
Extra credit - Stay in character. Puns are appreciated. :D

1 Townie Psychic
Each night you can use your psychic prowess to acquire a vision of what someone else did that night. Unfortunately, your powers malfunction quite a bit, and so the vision goes not to you, but to someone else in the town. Each night you can pick someone to watch with your ‘third eye’, and another person, who should receive the knowledge.

Your ‘cover’ is that you are the local tattoo artist

Your win condition is Town

0-3 Mafia Goons
You do the dirty work for your Mafia Don, which is X. There is/are X Goon(s). Each night a Goon will be sent into the town to kill. Should the Don die, you can elect a replacement who will decide on the night action.

Your ‘cover’ is X.

Your win condition is Mafia

1 Troublemaking Townie
You’re a Townie. You want the damned Mafia out of your town! In fact, you’re so angry at them that you see shadows everywhere, and want the shadows out of the town, damn the consequences! We need someone lynched dammit, and now!

You run the local video games emporium

Your win condition is Town
Secondary win condition – To achieve this condition, your first post each day must include a vote. You cannot, at any point, unvote, you can only change your vote.

1 Undercover Cop
You're the undercover cop. I can't remember the witty intro I wrote for you, but each night you can investigate someone and find their win condition.

Your cover is that you run the local bar.

Your win condition is Town

1 Paranoid Cop
You need to find the people ruining this town and bring them to justice. Despite being terrified of the potential consequences, each night you take your badge out into the town to investigate. You can find out the allegiance of one person per night. Unfortunately, because you're paranoid, absolutely everyone you investigate comes back as being in the Mafia.

Your ‘cover’ is that you’re the local librarian

Your win condition is Town

1 Mafia Don
You are the Mafia Don. You are trying to take over this town in the name of the Mafia. To this end you have 2 Goons to do your dirty work (Alarm and ApplePieOfDestiny) and 1 other staff to assist (your Saboteur, zaphod79). Each night one of your Goons can be nominated to kill somebody. In addition, any other Mafia staff can perform their roles. Should all of your Goons be killed, you can take to the streets at night to continue the killing. You can talk freely with all your Mafia colleagues, and due to your excellent ability to stay away from detection, you are both unable to be roleblocked, and any person who investigates you will return a win condition of ‘Town’.

Should you die, one of your colleagues will become the New Don, but lacking your experience will not have any of your special evasive skills.

Your ‘cover’ is that you run the local hat shop

Your win condition is Mafia

0-1 Mafia Saboteur
You’re a saboteur, who likes to prevent people getting things done. Each night you can choose to prevent someone from taking any action. They will know that they have been prevented from taking action. Your boss is Gilly, the Mafia Don, and they will inform you of your other friend(s). Please note that the target choice must come from you, and not from your boss.

Your ‘cover’ is that you are the local butcher

Your win condition is Mafia

1 Poetic Townie
Forsooth, you are the town’s great unheralded poet! You wish to remove these Mafia scum from your town, so you can complete your epic tale in verse, and become a publishing sensation.

For the time being though, you’re a janitor at the local school.

Your win condition is Town
Secondary win condition – To achieve this condition, you must speak in rhyme. The whole time.

1 Chief Carney
You are the Chief Carney, the Ringmaster, the person who runs the down-on-its-luck travelling carnival. You want to recruit as many people as you can to restore your carnival to its former glory. Each night you can approach someone and attempt to recruit them to your carnival. You’ll be able to get a good idea pretty quickly if they’ll accept, so those who refuse (and some within this town are not recruitable) will not know you were trying to get them to join you. If someone accepts (anyone whose role does not preclude them joining) then they will be a part of your carnival and will share your win condition. You can then talk with them freely outside of the confines of the game thread.

If anyone attempts to kill or investigate you during the first night phase, you will throw your final, fragile smoke bomb and run away, making it appear that the person approaching you was roleblocked. This ONLY works on the first night, after which time your smoke bomb has gone the way of the rest of your carnival, and no longer works.

Your ‘cover’ is that you run the local taxi firm

Your win condition is Carney

Other notes
Non-recruitable: Any Mafia, both cops, Righteous Hand of God

Order: Roleblock - Recruit - Investigate - Kill/Psychic

Ah yes, it will have done - the counter assumes the most recent topic is the latest day. You can force the counter to count a specific topic to appending t=[topicid] into the URL arguments.

Muchos gracias. I'm locking this thread in case anyone gets tempted to talk in it, but do let me know if there are any other technical issues.
