I protected Kalmar, Trooper and Joans.

I roleclaimed as people were jumping on it and I was about to go away for an hour to eat a nice meal.

Not sure where Grim... got his info from, tbh. Saying what he did is effectively a doctor roleclaim anyway.

If the Doctor protected the Mafia Don on the first night, would the Don still be able to order a kill?

Of course I did.

The Doctor's role now really isn't that of a protector (all he can protect is Townies with no specific power or info), but he can roleblock. Given that Joans didn't get pushed over the edge I suspected he might be Mafia and so roleblocked him.

I didn't think blocking the don did anything. It's been ages since I played a ... since I er, lived in a vanilla town though.

The doctor roleblocks as well as protecting. Which would indicate that either at least one of Joans and Trooper is mafia, or they were both targeted. Assuming Curio isn't lying, obv.

Are the doctor's visitees told? Someone must be able to tell us by now if they've been visited.

Well, I wasn't expecting that!

I can confirm I was visited by the doc on night 2.

Grim... anything to say?

Well, being as night 2 was when I was protected, and night 2 was when a mafia hit was made, I'd like to think that clears my name a fair bit! (Along with my business card, natch)

Then I suggest you lynch me quickly, discover that I'm town and was telling the truth about not being visited, which means that Curio is lying and either Trooper is as well, or Curio just got lucky.

I'm happy to put my money where my mouth is.

[vote:Joans]

I'd happily lynch Grim... as well, as I'm not sure what the hell he's up to.

Bear in mind I know you're lying, so if it's not too late you should be lynched tomorrow.

I have to say I'm very inclined to go with voting for Joans here. It seems safer than a 50/50 on killing the doctor.

Grimothy, anything to add?

I think we've got this one, so I'm going to come out and say I'm the Doctor.

I protected Kalmar, Trooper and Curio. I didn't know that the people I blocked got informed, but Curio guessed correctly that they did, presumably because Trooper told him. (/glares at the rule-maker)

This sort of suggests I've hit all the mafia guys one day after the other. Go me.

Trooper might not be a bad'un, and Curio might have indeed got lucky, but he was awfully quick to jump on Joans.

I think it's safe to assume either Grim or Curio is the doctor.
What is Trooper though?

Oh wait, durr, he'd have been told last night.

I still think it's a bit of a coincidence that he guess Tropper, and that Trooper didn't mention it yesterday.

Scenario 1 - Curio is the doc and I'm lying about being blocked/protected
Scenario 2 - Curio is the doc, but is lying about who he blocked/protected last night (or DavPaz forgot to PM me)
Scenario 3 - Curio isn't the doc, but just happened to guess who really was protected on night 2
Scenario 4 - Curio isn't the doc, and picked one of his mafia buddies to vouch for him.

2 is unlikely, and once you lynch me, you'll find that 1 isn't true either (unless I'm some loony wacko townie that's lying for fun), so hopefully there's still time to work out if 3 or 4 is the correct one.
The real doctor could clarify this, but obviously, they shouldn't.

Have to say that it would be too risky for Trooper to come out to support Curio if it's a scam. We'd hang Joans today and then have two Mafia to go for straight away.

It is a huge coincidence, but for what it's worth, I thought you were the doc yesterday, after our little conversation around voting for middle voters and voting for you on day 2, only to get protected that night. I assumed you were trying to see if I was mafia or not after targetting you.

This does confuse things for me, but it does sound like you are reacting to curio and me and trying to save joans...

You make a convincing case, but the possibility that you're lying and Curio is telling the truth is too ... um... possible for me to risk going for either of you.

I think, therefore, that I will play it safe and [vote: Joans]. If Curio's telling the truth, we kill one mafia type and expose another. If he's lying, we lose a townie, but still expose two mafia types.

The alternative is going for you or Curio straight away, which would risk losing the doctor and therefore probably the game.

Not trying to save Joans - that's just a by-product of killing Curio.

Not sure about Trooper. I'd like to think it's a cunning double-bluff.

Can you do that? If you're protecting yourself, you're roleblocking yourself, which means you can't protect yourself, which means....A white hole?

Can the Doctor protect himself?

1 Paranoid Doctor
Once per night, he Paranoid Doctor can PM the GM with the name of a player to protect during the night. However, the doctor is so paranoid about keeping the player safe, he stops them from doing anything else that night. The target will know they have spent the night with the doctor.

It's basically down to who to believe between Curio and Grim...

Curio called the protection on me correct first.
I thought Grim... was the doc yesterday, as it fit expected behaviour after the conversations of the day.
Either Curio or Joans are mafia (or both), as nothing happened last night.

For Curio to say he protected a live player days 2 and 3 is extremely risky, as if he had got both wrong, he would have been lynched for sure.

If Curio and I are both mafia, then again claiming to protect live players is risky, as surely someone would have come out and counter claimed my night 2 protection by now.

I want to believe Grim..., as he was my first suspicion, but on balance of probablilities it is more likley to be Curio who is the doc, which means he had no reason to lie about who he protected and joans is lying.

Therefore [vote: Joans]

Even if I get lynched today, and the doctor can't protect himself and gets killed, that still leaves 2-3 mafia out of 12 people. This seems a bizarre tactic as it appears to have exposed at least 1 if not 2 of the mafia.
