Barricades are taken down, shutters unbolted. Dawn has broken. Something else has broken too.

A lonely figure is sprawled in Main Street, riddled with bullets. His face, so young and childlike is fixed in shock. Pinned to his sleeve is a note that says, "Next time, pay your fucking pizza bills!". Nickachu was a Townie.

Reeling with horror, the Township agrees to a community breakfast. They go as one to the cafe, only to be hit with smell of another corpse, gently roasting in the large oven. They retrieve the body and find a well dressed (if very charred) man in nice Italian Suit. Kalmar was the Mafia Don

I was about to cheer for the town, but then realised that we probably have no more SK's out there, so the likelihood is that the MS has replaced the Don...

So boo to Nickachu, he was my friend, us townies should stick together :(

If it's an SK kill then on Night One a lot of people must have targeted the same person.

Either way, we really need to hit a Mafia type this time, else we're going to be running out of time.

Nickachu was the main person on my suspicion radar, and he turned out to be a Townie, so that's eff all use.

GJ started the lynch on Russ, but I think it'd be rare for the Mafia to be so bold so early on in trying to get a bandwagon rolling.

I might go back through some posts and see who looks suspicious, or failing that we should pile on someone quiet.

If Mr Russ was a mafia I would have voted for GJ today because I'd assume it was a Clever Ploy.

But he's not so I won't.

So, yesterday I pointed the finger at Grim, Kalmar poo-pooed that.
Nickachu pointed the finger at Kalmar, both Craster and Gos took him to task.

On the face of it, Craster, Gos and Grim have my FOS right up their arses at the moment...

After settling down to an XL bacon double cheeseburger for lunch, I have been perusing something other than fast food menus, namely, yesterdays events.

I cant see a lot, but I can see Flis being quick to defend Kalmar, and subsequently voting for Nickachu. With little else to go on, [vote: Flis]

Im going to see if the Chinese in the neighbouring village delivers for free...ta ta!

The doctor can protect and roleblock now, and has no reason to worry about getting the wrong person. They're actually more useful to us than ever, although they if they do block a kill, they'll unfortunately not know why (ie: whether they protected or roleblocked), or even if the mafia just decided not to kill.

I really don't think there's another serial killer. There's no reason for an SK to not kill on night one, and as kalmar was drawing some suspicion, the mysterious stranger probably figured it worth a shot at him.

Still, it's not a dreadful result for us - though the MS replaces him, we're effectively down one bad guy out of three.

I'm a bit surprised at nikachu though. I actually suspected he was the doctor.

If that's what happened, though. I guess we'll have to wait until tomorrow to know for sure (although, of course, they could just not kill again).

I didn't. I did think he was mafiwafi, though.

Actually, that's a point. Assuming I'm wrong and the don was killed by an SK, not the stranger, what happens to the stranger? Are they considered a townie now?

The doctor is still a valuable role, I agree. Especially (assuming there is no second SK, which I think is unlikely) whoever he protected last night must be a townie, as the power roles still did their thing.
Some assumptions here:
Night 1, assumption being the mafia would have no reason not to strike, so they either hit Zaphod or Runcle (although usually there is some indication of a double hit in the description) or they were roleblocked by the doc, or hit someone the doc was protecting. The doc has some info there, there is a greater chance of whoever he protected first night of being mafia, compared to the rest of the town, so he knows that.
Night 2, assumption being no second SK, the doc has to have protected a townie, therefore he knows for sure who one good person is.

So he has valuable knowledge, which may be useful as the time goes on.

For Gospvg to say the doc is useless is pushing my FOS further up...

The doc is useless in the sense his overnight role only allows a block and not a kill or investigate like the SK, Cop, MS or Don.

That was an unfortunate turn of phrase which I'm sure he didn't think about when he posted it. Some Italian shoes are known to be good quality shoes.

You seemed very keen to kill Russ off yesterday:

"Ok too late Mr Russell you have the 9 votes. You are the weakest link goodbye !!"

Russ also has (had?) his slight suspicion about you.

He had the votes thus was lynched. That comment was in reference to him replying after being lynched.

You can use your vote on me but I think we have lost enough townies already & don't need to lose another.

I have a theory on who the doc might be, but obviously don't want to flag them up for a mob hit!

It's a long day though, so no need to rush this time, i'll wait to hear from more people before voting. It would be great if some of the quieter members of town spoke up a bit more now though...

Aaah, looks like I slipped meself a bit too much grog last night. Aaaahnyway, seems to me, there were number of people who defended Kalmar yesterday. Aaaaour resident fast-food aaahficionado makes a valid point. AaaahI would say one further thing - I have seen comments such as this made many times:

On reflection, flis was very quick to pounce on Russ after one of his earliest posts, in a manner that seemed a bit over the top for the traditionally silly opening page. The next day, she suddenly switched off Russ and voted for Nikachu instead, apparently apropros of nothing.

But then, Russ himself said he was suspicious of me and Gos, and I know Russ was innocent.

Hm.

Flis, Gos: Betalk me, if you will.

I didn'tso much pounce on Russ...I took the things he said about shoes and Italian brogues and turned it back on him for a bit of fun. He was quite entertaining and I didn't want him lynched, a point I made before voting for Nick.

Fair enough.

Trooper may have a point - we do have the typical very quiet section , and nobody's made a strong push for them yet. Probably worth putting some pressure on them.
