Also, this is silly. The empire already know who the 'non-empire' are. If someone outs themselves as a nobody, they're less likely to be targetted because the bad guys are more likely to hit a good guy power role by targetting anyone else. And Jabba and the Jawas aren't interested in nobodies either.

Still, if you roleclaim as a nobody, no-one will believe you.

All roleblocks occur simultaneously, so Ackbar gets his blocking in no matter what.

He's had two days to think of a cunning escape plan.

Not far from my parents house, there's a kebab shop called Ackbars. I wanted to post a street view picture of it, but it looks like it's too new.

Er, sorry, I mean "bit cold around here, isn't it?"

Sorry, just woke up! I started reading the thread and worrying that there had been a bandwagon for Trooper based on nothing but then the more I read, the worse his posts sounded as he tried to save himself. I think I might be willing to put a vote inthere myself now, although I want to read back.
I am a bit suspicious of people who were against voting on day one then started day two wanting to vote since really, our situation didn't change overnight. We have the same number of people and may actually have extra info (or at least the power roles do) so to me at the start of today I still didn't really feel like I had any thing making me want to vote without any info and without a bad situation like a few deaths. Usually by day two we have lost three good guys through a couple of random and poorly aimed night kills and a misguided day one lynch so I was fairly happy with the situation this morning. I don't understand why someone who felt like me yesterday would feel differently today.

Usually I don't really feel like getting two people up on day one to see how they react does much side most people are able to lie if they're a baddy but trooper really has given some crap answers!

So you definitely know who Ackbar is, then?

If so, why would that "colour you paranoid"?

So why would you want Ackbar to roleclaim? You know who he is already, what benefit to outing a good guy roleblocker?

The only reason I can think of is hoping that someone will falsely roleclaim as old fish-face, giving DavPaz more information.

Unless it's Trooper. But then he probably shouldn't vote for him.

I accept your amendments :-)

Still nothing from Trooper and I need to leave shortly so

[vote:Trooper]

That Davpaz claims to have been visited by Ackbar will be interesting if we find Ackbar killed tonight - but otherwise thats probably just a red herring :-)

(I assume his paranoid comments are trying to explain why he didnt simply come out to say he was visited earlier).

If we kill Trooper, then that's all well and good, and we need to do it soon.

If DavPaz WAS visited by Ackbar in the night, and he isn't lynched tomorrow, then he clearly has information that the Empire wants, so they will try to keep him alive. If he gets Diana'd in the night, then that's too bad, but the rebels probably didn't do it, as they need the votes and wouldn't waste a kill, and the Empire know that he wasn't visited.

So, all in all, wasting Trooper then Davpaz is a good idea.

Any objections to my reasoning?

Also, Davpaz will use the "I know who Ackbar is" to stop a run on him from the empire faction.

Or Ackbar blocked someone's target. Or both - the target could have been a killer. Or we have a Jabba/Jawa and they nabbed someone - kidnapping comes before killing, and kidnappees can't be killed at night. Or some combination of all of the above :S

Question: How does Lando's choice of sides work? Does he have to choose on day one, or can he choose whenever, or go back and forth? What happens if someone checks up on his win condition before he's decided?

So wait, Davpaz is claiming that Trooper isn't Ackbar, (I think)? Hence his comment. That menas that DP was roleblocked last night. also, losing the potential for an empire guy to false claim.

can't see why DP would say that now.
[vote:davpaz]

Actually I can, and that is he now comes out and claims he didn't mean it, and if that is the case, lies = bad, and also, it is a deliberate attempt to get Trooper killed, when he can't have the info, if he hasn't been ackbarred.
Am I right? This was a crazy thing to do?

Just reread my first line, and makes no sense! I meant that given there are noi kills, the killers must have been RBd. Therefore, DP must have a role, likely killer. Furthermore, his release of this information at this point helps no one but the bad guys - I think? If not, can someone explin how it does help me?

I think that's sort of what Mali said.
But that's an odd-looking vote at this stage in the day.

No, vote trooper now, and we can pick Davpaz up tomorrow.

Only the empire really care who ackbar is, as he has an investigatory role and can roleblock. They want him from the field sharpish.

As Davpaz has claimed to know who he is, that information is only useful to the empire, as the rebels can just either nobble davpaz in the night, thus removing any intel he might be able to get them, or the empire will to cover themselves, thus denying them of that intel. So, if Davpaz lives through the night, the rebels will kill him during the next day phase sharpish as he is Empire scum. If he isn't Empire, then hey ho, omlette, eggs. Unless of course, he has already passed that intel onwards, in which case, the rebels nobble him.

Any case, nobbling Davpaz cannot, at this stage, be a bad thing for the rebels. If I were them, I wouldn't try and biff him off in the night, as he might be protected, so that's a go wasted, but public lynch tomorrow, early on.

Worst case: rebels lose a person.
Best case, Empire loses a person and a source of intel.

Yeah, sorry. The day didn't start until I'd gone to work and I don't have net access there. I was hoping to be able to chat with the evening shift, but such an early day end doesn't make that too likely.

However, doing nothing is going to get us all dead rather quickly.

You said that yesterday, and nobody died today. Which admittedly doesn't really appear to have helped us much, but if it happens again, the jedi are probably gathering a lot of intel. And possibly the slavers are nabbing people, if they're in the game. Ugh, too many possibilities with all these roles! It's probably going to be really interesting after a few days, but right now all the permutations are making me argue myself in circles.

Hm. Nor another 20 people. Dunno why you'd say this tbh.

Hm. A lot of clever, careful players are voting for you, Trooper mate. It's way too early for a baddie bandwagon ... unless they know you're a major threat.

... and reading the rest of the thread, yeah sorry, you're squirming like Johnny Squealer. A vanilla townie would have roleclaimed by now, and a good power role would have either kept more quiet (especially as they can talk to their mates instead of digging a hole in here), or roleclaimed for the greater good.

So, [vote: Trooper].

I'm still non the wiser, just had to look back through the rules too.

Just about to eat, so will have another look when my brain has been fed. I would vote for Trooper, but whenever I've done that in other games just to get it done, it's always been a townie, I don't want to jump on someone for the sake of it and I don't think we've learn't an awful lot from having him so close to the hang mans noose.

If we don't lynch anyone soon, we're at the mercy of the night actions and he's 1 vote away.

He's done not a great deal to explain much, and we really, really need a lynch.

He was accused, I can't even remember why to be honest - we don't really have much to go on for anyone - but his reaction to the accusation has been pretty dodgy, pointing fingers at someone who voted for him, leaping to say that ackbar didn't target him (he didn't target 20 other people either - why bother shouting about it?), and coming up with an unconvincing list of reasons not to roleclaim as various roles, rather than simply roleclaiming as what he actually is.

Also personally I think it unlikely many of the people who've voted for him are villains, and a lot of clever people who've played this game a fair bit have voted for him. I don't think it's likely they'd all be villains or mistaken.

It's not brilliant, but it's the best case I can see, particularly with so little time left.

If he's a Stormtrooper than I vote Bobby for the swing tomorrow. His reasoning for Davpaz was far below par for his ultra-brain.

Unless something really interesting happens overnight/tomorrow, obv.

:hat: Why thank you.. Wait, WHAT? :)

I am fine to vote for trooper, i hadn't realised how close he was to kill, but I am posting that to state my displeasure of DPs (possible false) attempts to lynch Trooper, when he has either admitted to being roleblocked, or has lied about being roleblocked.

If there is still time, I am happy to [vtoe:trooper]

Tension mounts, and eventually it gets too much. The mob descends on Trooper and starts to beat him mercilessly. Countless punches and kicks leave him at the brink of death, but there's time for some final words as the last boots comes down to cave in his skull.

"Mesa not want to die!"

But die he does.

Trooper was Jar Jar Binks, and fulfils his win condition in style.

It is now nightfall, and Jar Jar's body has been left outside for the tauntauns.

Night Actions to me by noon tomorrow, though we'll start earlier if we can.
