The alarm goes off for the forth or fifth time, and although it is quickly switched off, you fight against the sleepy fog in your head and sit up. Some others are doing the same.
You step out of the door and see a dead body.
The Rev Owen is lying in a small pool of blood, two holes in his chest and one in his head. Steping backward, you knock into the hanging body of superdupergill, swinging about on the end of
Sweet Chariot's one remaining tething clamp.

A quick search of the dead bodies reveals that The Rev Owen was a Military Soldier, and that superdupergill was a Scientist (specifically, a photosynthesis expert).

This frakking sucks.

So thats the end of any protection we had.

Any curious scientists want to come forward with 'found' information ?

Oh dear.

Well, that's our protectors frakked.

I am deeply suspicious of those who ousted Kovacs last night, especially when towards the end it appeared to be pretty clear that he was roleclaiming as a Military Soldier.

I have no frakking idea why he continued to push and push and push for a no lynch, which is what got him eliminated. Putting himself in the firing line like that was a bad move. He couldn't outright roleclaim though as it would have meant elimination overnight by the Cylons... though he should have claimed once he got to 8 or 9 votes, as him going overnight at least would have meant the Cylons were occupied.

Ho hum.

Deffo some bad guys amongst the Kovacs lynch mob.

Also, damn unlucky for us that Owen was a Soldier, as his traditional night one elimination now really hurt us.

Wouldn't that rather out them a leetle bit?

The only thing they could usefully do would (assuming they had any sense, and/or were awesome) be to confirm Curio's roleclaim. On the other hand they may have gone for some pot luck curious sciencing and discovered a Cylon, I guess, but the odds are against it.

Well no-one can come forward now, our two protectors are dead.

FYI, Kovacs, the correct way to hint that you're a protector is "Hey, guys, I'm a military protector!". At least that way the bad guys would have wasted a kill on you and not got one of Rev Owen or Gilly.

I didn't think it was clear that Kovacs was roleclaiming as a soldier, at least not until right at the end with his "who should I be protecting?" thing.

If your roleclaim is true, that's you frakked as well as the protectors are now gone.

Did anyone see which way Kovacs went? Could we chase after him and get him back?

Yes it would out them , but given there are a maximum of 4 cylons I'd accept the exchange of an investigator for a Cylon.
Also if you are an investigator and found stuff out then get killed overnight then we lose anything they found.

**note ** - if they just confirmed Curio then I dont really care - however if they lucked onto a Cylon then letting people know would be good.

Message for SDG in the Deadthread - you could start the explanation to Kovacs now - you'll have some other people in to join you shortly.

Aww shucks. Interesting though.

Are we assuming the psycho killed gill then?

I'm not sure curio will die tonight, the cylons would be best placed to kill scientists. On the off chance they lose their pilot, they will need a civilian or military person capable of flying the raptor.

With that said Ill volunteer to bury the dead. I especially want to give the rev a miltary sendoff.
Therefore I have a busy day ahead and might not be able to chat much

For frak's sake.

I didn't get involved much during the end of the day but I could see Kovacs digging his own grave and there's no point reasoning with him.

There is little satisfaction in learning that Gilly's scientist type was exactly as claimed, assume the Cylons got her?

Gotta admit, I nearly did a self-preservation vote for Kovacs at the end there. Which would have been a mistake, I now see. Frak! Losing both soldiers on day one is a bitter blow.

Also, amusingly, if a curious scientist finds out a Cylon name, they must divulge, under their epic win condition. However, once five non-Cylons have been slain, they must keep it to themselves (though they can, of course, hint at who might be scummy, as they would prefer to see all those with a killing role be eliminated).

OTOH, a Cylon would want to make a big deal of this, if his team had avoided being amongst that lynch mob...

Malc was the one making a big fuss about lining two people up for the chop, and oh look, he voted for the the other person along with you!
Yes, this tactic can force information sometimes, but it also provides a perfect distraction and alibi for people wanting to put a vote in without obviously lynching a goodie.

Anyway, I've got to go and collect some precious leaves for food because I'm starving, and may be some time, so I thought I'd say my piece now.

Bloody hell. I'm guessing the curious scientists found nothing or they'd have claimed by now that someone is dodgy.

And still nobody counter claims curiosity so maybe we should look to him for ideas as he is a 'confirmed' good guy and at least doesn't have an agenda.

As Craster pointed out to me yesterday, no-one can counter claim a 1-2 role (well, unless two people counterclaimed at once...) so I'm not sure I agree with this line of reasoning. In fact, role claiming as a pilot would be a good move, particularly as the Cylons would want to keep all the pilots alive in case their own one was stiffed.

Hmmm. Interesting theory, that. Plus he voted for me to leave, so I don't like him much any more.

Not a good night, I think it was obvious that Kovacs was on our side, and increasingly likely he had some sort of role as he went on. He just wasn't very subtle about it. This would lead me to think that those that voted for him were dubious, however, I think it's dangerous to assume that all the cylons voted for him, or indeed, that all of them didn't vote for him. Surely the best tactic for them is to spread themselves around. Trying to make it hard for us to find any patterns. They will be trying to work together unobviously, we need to try and spot the "trying to hard to be normal" people.

I think it's too early to work out who's who at the moment, and despite Kalmar's accusations I think we need to engineer a similar situation again, unless you think that sends out messages to the cylons. The other option is to let the curious scientists do their job for a few nights and get them to do an info dump on day 3/4 or something (hopefully they survive that long). Which is an option, albeit a very risky option.

Malc

Fyi I don't have an agenda either

But I am still dangerous, as pete kazanski once told me
As evidenced by my rash vote against kovacs yesterday. Still, I felt he was either a scientist or scummy.

Well that's two pilot role claims then. If anyone out there who isn't LaceSensor or Curio is a pilot, you now have a reason to suspect them both.

Assuming Lace doesn't have a hidden "you are a lunatic and must make really unsubtle role claim hints at all times" role I guess. Pilot Wannabe maybe?

You were gaining momentum, and I was fairly sure that Kovacs wasn't a baddie, and it served the purpose of getting 2 people on the block.

Of course, we still have a reason to suspect them both. I'm guessing Lace's claim is as a Military pilot, but Curio didn't specify (IIRC). That means we've got two claims in a possible 2-4 role!

In agreement with the general role-claiming, and in the interest of sheer self-preservation, I'm a Pilot Scientist, specialising in wheat growth. I have to fly the crop duster, see. Does this mean I get more room for my seedlings now?

Ooh. Which one are you going to pick, Curio? Both slots now have one claimed person in them, so we're in risk territory now!

I agree with voting Craster (as it appears Mr Chris knows something)

[vote: craster] but why me? What have I done?

Malc

I'm obviously missing something with the various roleclaims so will go back to read through what we've got already today - from the roles

You're a soldier. You have information vital to the war, and you need to be on Sweet Chariot, and now that anyone here could have learned your secrets, you'll make sure that if you are on the Raptor that no-one else is getting off.
While people are sleeping you will take your combat knife and kill one person.

Would suggest that the Psycho offed Owen and the Cylons took out SDG , possibly because she was the most useful person yesterday ?

Ooh. Which one are you going to pick, Curio? Both slots now have one claimed person in them, so we're in risk territory now!

Is the radiation ruining your implanted memories?

There's a reason I was hankering for Cylons not to kill a pilot, and that is because I am a pilot (of the Military variety). So don't lynch me!

Well, SDG was all over Bobby yesterday (fnar).

However, it is equally likely that the Cylons saw this adn took her out to shift suspicion on to Bobby.

So, I'd say either you or Bobby are in the Cylons.
