I'd like to hear Mimi's take on things but right now - I'd be voting for Runcle , I think he's the Buster and Mr Russell is the Gatekeeper.

Again Im neither so you'd lose the game. Lynch Russell first.
Also how did I become more suspicious than Mr Russell?

So we have 3 1/2 hours left , no response from Mimi looks dodgy (which would mean that instead of having both remaing power roles in Runcle / Mr Russell they would be in Mimi / Runcle / Mr Russell).

If she is any role i really think she's the gatekeeper , the problem then is if we hit one of Runcle / Mr Russell we may hit a ghost and its game over.

Mr Dave - any thoughts ?

Hi chaps :)

Sorry I didn't post over the weekend. I did look in once or twice but things weren't moving much and I knew I'd be up and about early today (Monday) so thought I'd have the weekend off so that the game didn't become too much of a chore.

Going to have a look over the recent posts whilst I eat breakfast and see which way things look and which way things seem to be going.

Hullo,

I have had a read through. Well, towards the end the logic did seem pretty sound that Runcle or Mr Russ, one or the other, was the GB. Which one, though? To be honest I don't see much between them so it is a 50/50 chance of hitting the right one. Get it right and we're laughing, but get it wrong and... well, we are stuffed. I just have a feeling that Mr Russ might be the gatekeeper - he seemed super-cautious about putting down his vote for Runcle and then withdrew it as soon as possible. I think that might be him worried that he is about to hit the last GB.

Mr Dave's reasoning above seems quite sound.

Zaphod, I have just read through the last few posts - please don't think me suss just because I had the weekend off. I try not to spend too much time on the internet at weekends as I am stuck on the computer for most of every weekday and I wanted a bit of time to enjoy with my other half as we have been super busy/stressed recently, and that's why the 'nights' that occur over the weekend go on for an extra long time, so people who check t'internet at work don't have to worry too much...

So... back to who is actually suspicious, who do we go for?

Well, not much has really changed - Both have told us they're ghosts, but given us no extra reason to believe them. The behaviour between the two of them seems odd, and just makes it look more and more like neither is a ghost to me.

I don't really see why Runcle saying essentially "I'm a ghost. Vote Mr Russ, he likes voting for me"

warrants the response:

"That's pretty good pleading actually. Fuck!
vote:unvote

Runcle. If it ain't me and it ain't you, who is it?"

It's a strange response.

Sorry Mimi - just thinking if you didnt take part then its very suspicious , the fact that your here and answering makes me more reassured.

The difference between the two right now seems to be Mr Dom's continual (for at least the last 5 days) either voting for or threatening to vote for Mr Russell.

If Mr Russell complained back then that looks like two GB's trying to confuse things , the fact that Mr Russell didnt respond makes it seem as if its not 'planned' ?

I know he never really got a bandwagon going but that makes me think if Mr Russell is not a ghost that he's the Gatekeeper.

That response you quoted (Mr Dave) of Mr Russell over the weekend seems too contrived (oh yeah i'll believe you when you say your a ghost Runcle) , which again points me to Mr Russell is the Gatekeeper (and trying to backup the GB) , with Runcle as the GB

Its getting close to crunch time - my money right now is on Runcle for the GB.

As we're going to go for either of them and it'll take the rest of us to choose can i suggest that Runcle should vote for Mr Russell (if he's awake at this ungodly hour) , and Mr Russell should vote for Runcle ?

Again, I'm a ghost, vote for mr russell im sure he'll turn out the GB. Even if he somehow turns out to be the GK you can lynch me tomorrow although we'll still lose.

We're going to fuck it up. If we hit the gatekeeper in the lynch the game continues into night ten, yes?

Its been said a number of times on the thread today :

We hit the buster we win
We hit the gatekeeper , the buster will kill a ghost overnight there will be 3 players left a buster + 2 ghosts so one last chance
We hit a ghost we lose
Day times out and the buster hits a ghost we lose
Day times out and the buster hits the gatekeeper we have another go (the most unlikely option)

actually if we hit a ghost, the GB still could get the GK.

Forgot to ask zaphod, how do you know the GK and GB dont know each other?

Then my vote stands. There's been a lot of bluster in this thread today. If mimi is the gatekeeper it'll give us another chance tomorrow to analyse todays posts with new info

I asked that earlier. See mr daves response about the required majority, and the second point is in the rules for the game

No... The GB wouldn't hit anyone, as the game would be over. The ghosts could no longer lynch anyone.

Because it says so in the rules. They may havea agood guess, but they don't know.

I think both myself and Mr Dave are ghostly enough for targets , lets just say your telling the truth and your a ghost and Mr Russell is the buster , why would he risk going for you when he can easily go for Mr Dave or me.

As to how we know the GB and GK dont know each other

A quick rule reminder - Dana now has the win condition GhostBuster. While Dana can't communicate with the GhostBusters (she doesn't even know who they are), she does count toward their numbers for working out the winners. So at the moment, it's 5 vs 3 in the towns favour.
Note that the GhostBusters don't know who Dana is either.

Yeah that last bit looks like it should have 'Louis will now know the ghostbusters' before the final sentenc.

I think Mr Russell's vote is a bit manic, but that aside it is time to make a decision. I think that either Mr Russell or Runcle is either the gatekeeper or the GB. Mr Russell seems a bit erratic - voting for Runcle, withdrawing it immediately after 'pretty good pleading' (?). I think that Runcle may be the GB and perhaps Russ the gatekeeper? I think Mr Russ knows/suspects Runcle is the GB (it says the gatekeeper "can't communicate" with the GBs, but does that mean that he doesn't know who the GBs are, or not?) and is trying to draw votes away from the target. I think he felt pressured into voting for Runcle and withdrew his vote at the slightest opportunity to do so.

Runcle basically said 'please don't vote for me' and Russell said 'that's good enough for me!'

So

[vote: Runcle]

Mimi. If I knew runcle was the gb I would vote for him. I am not the gk trying to draw votes away from him. I just can't shake the niggle that if he is a ghost we messed up. Again

The few remaining spin round and round Runcle until he disappears with an almighty pop. Runcle was a ghost.
