Best not read too much into that - the SK wasn't privvy to any information.

Perhaps one interesting thing to note is that it's possible that last night timed out, as today started at 9am, so maybe not everybody got to do anything.

What strikes me as wierd is that Malc suggested 2 people 'randomly', but Dr G suggested a totally different 'random' who ended up being lynched & a Townie. Probablility was on the side of it being a townie I admit, but with 2 other options listed by Malc that Dr G 'ignored' before suggesting another person could lead me to think Dr G. is an alien and one of the two Malc mentioned is the alien - probably Dudley as he jumped on LS relatively early, and he was strongly anti no-lynch (as any good alien would be)?
I can see what you're saying, but if I were an alien there's no way I'd be making such obvious moves on page 2 of day 1. If you'd hung an alien on Malc's suggestion, I'd have been next. Malc suggested two people at random, but I deliberately ignored his suggestions; I don't know if he's trustworthy or not. So I generated my own random choice between 1 and 23 instead. I have no idea why people listened to me and not him, our guesses were equally valid.

Shin wrote:

And indeed, Elvis did get his head. Don't get caught up on that. With Owen dead, it won't help us find the aliens or the mafia.

I did some sums. I reckon there is a chance of between 11/23 and 15/23 that they have a second member right now. We've previously made the mistake of ignoring the cult element until it's too late -- we shouldn't do that, although we don't have anything to go on really anyway. I would guess the Mafia recruiter would have been very, very cautious yesterday -- probably just a few posts, maybe a late vote on the LaceSensor bandwagon? 'Course, that's the obvious course, so they might have done something quite different. What do you guys think?

Poop :( I hope it isn't going the way of Christmas Scum :'( at least there are no presents at stake...well...our lives, but presents are also important!

I shall be out much of today because I need to go and gut Gaz's nans garden for his mum and dad (that confused me) but I'll be back later-but in case I get attacked by Triffids or something I am voting for: [vote:Doctor Glyndwr] because I have read over Mr.Doms post and found that to be similar to what I was thinking. Ideally I'd like Malc and Dr.G to go head-to-head, so I'll vote in Dr.G-sorry!

Well, to be fair, it is first thing in the morning, most people would check in around the same time.

I don't like voting early. I'm more interested in seeing people's reactions to my accusations. If they come back with a reaction I'm not happy with, I'll vote for them.

Shin and Malc both came back with decent retorts, so I'm not voting for them at this current time.

Crikey, typo central there. That should have said "Why aren't you putting any votes where your mouth is?" Trying to start bandwagons rolling without appearing on the vote record is a bit dodgy in my opinion.

I understood what you meant.

I'm not looking to start bandwagons, I just want to see if anyone gets defensive over early accusations. Neither have done so, otherwise I'd have voted for them.

I am suss of Mr Dom, but I still think he may be Mulder.
Mulder's win condition is BA, and BA's win condition is .....

Quote:
You are a benevolent alien, the last of your race, trying to thwart the evil aliens that are taking over this town. Each night phase, you can use your alien powers to psychically link with someone, and tell them the role of someone else. Unfortunately, you're a beginner in the ways of the psychic, and so can only pass on information to the simple mind of a Townie. Should you try to pass on information to anyone else, they will not receive it.

Your win condition is Benevolent Alien

...Actually, what is the win condition? Does the BA win when all the EA are eliminated?

Well, I did say earlier that this is my first game so I am actually a stupid newbie.
However, I would be interested to know what exactly is so newbie-ish?
(apart from the fact you are trying to frame me as you and your alien cohorts know I'm not one of you)

Hmm. Interesting. I think the baddies just got lucky there, as someone else said, as there's no way they could have known with any certainty who was who, least of all that Rev Owen was a baddy.

I'm going to have a look at the voting patterns from yesterday after there's been a bit more voting today, and see what's what.

I'm just busy Runcle, plus I don't enjoy the slow starts of these games. Much prefer to get a vote in to suss reactions.

My suspicions have turned to Myps though since the Docs postings above. But I'm going to 'stick' for now.

Right, let's get some voting in. I voted for him yesterday as I felt he was doing the 'too helpful' scum trick. I see no reason not to vote for him again today, so [vote:Doctor Glyndwr].

So to sum up: you vaguely accused Shin and Malc and you handwaved your way around it with "oh, I just wanted to see what they would say, so I didn't vote". Now Zardoz has called you on this and voted for you, you're suddenly voting for me rather than "seeing what I say". Why have you changed tactics?

Why would scum players be helpful when being quiet is generally far more successful? Being loud gets you lynched and makes you a target for the scum. That's a hell of a risk for the Mafia, starting with just 1 character. And the Aliens have more to lose than to gain by being conspicious. At best, if they had a full set of 4 Evil Aliens, they might risk one of them being a bit louder and trying to mix the townsfolk up. Perhaps by prodding bandwagons along and trying to get them started, very much in the manner you are doing.

If you're an Alien, you're being very bold, but I think it's possible. [FOS:myp].

The only doubt I have is that he's being very bold for a scum player, but I have no other explanation for why he's coming after me. I know he won't have received any incriminating information about me overnight. My guess is, the Aliens see me as an easy lynch target and are taking a small risk to get it going.
