After a day of truly pitiful suspicion, the town awake. Having strung up poor myoptika, they obviously feel like the foolish, cretinous morons they are, but they're determined to do better today.

At least, they would if they were all there. Two people are missing. After a quick head count the victims are identified.

Mimi is missing. She is found at her house in a pool of blood, sufficated so horrendously that her eyes have ruptured. Think like Arnie in Total Recall. Like that. The poor lady has also been disemboweled. She is surrounded by stuffed monkey toys and on closer inspection they are all covered in semen. ewwww. However amongst this grisly scene there is one doll that remains untouched. It's a Hello Kitty cat, but it's eyes have been replaced by mirrors. Weird.

Mimi was the Townie Doctor

They also realise Sinister Agent is missing, and head to his little shack on the edge of town. No theatrics here, Sinister Agent is found dead, two shots in the heart and one in the head. This is a professional hit carried out with consumate skill.

But wait, one of the townies uncovers several booklets with Tom Cruise on the front, talking about the evils of Morlocks that are apparently the cause of all unhappy emotions. It looks like a load of fanciful cult nonsense, but the booklets are fresh and uncreased, as if they hadn't even been read yet.

Sinister Agent was a Vanilla Townie Cult Convert

With 17 players alive, 9 votes are required for a lynch. Day 2 ends Wednesday 11pm.

<breath>

Well, I was right: myop was telling the truth! Looks like he was trying to attract the cult though, given the tom cruise / scientology crapbook thing. Very funny :)

Poor mimi, she hardly had a chance to take part at all, and what a way to go :(

Now how in hell did S.A manage to attract both the cult vote and a mafia hit on the first night? Is that what happened? It did look like he was saying he was the vigilante though, so I guess that did it.

Phew.

Nuh what? Mimi was SK'd and SA was mafia'd, surely?

I'm going to go ahead and assume that the SK is really *not* doing the town any favours.

I'm assuming Mimi was hit by the SK, unless the Mafia has less stringent recruitment policies than it used to.
Maybe the vigilante used his other skill, I'm assuming professional hit implies Mafia, rather than Vigilante justice?

cult 'conversion' I should have said, up there.

Means there's still only the cult leader out there, could be worse.

Two townies down is bad news, but knocking the cult back down to one is great - we may have a chance of avoiding the slow quiet cult growth of last game.

I assume the vig chose to investigate rather than kill, so there's potentially some information in our favour there - unfortunately with the doc dead, the vig can't afford to tip his hand too early.

So there was no Vigilante hit last night? He was roleblocked, presumably.

im quite suspicious as to why Malia would not even think mimi was killed by the serial killer, especially with all the talk about semen and shit, that doesnt even sound barely like a hit from the goons or the vigilante. Also the the stuff about the hello kitty doll cant help me think of kalmars avatar, not actually implying your the guilty one kalmar since malia has had a grudge against you from the first game, although it could be just a big bluff.

The Vigilante could have investigated someone instead of killed. But our only protector is gone so the Vigilante can't make himself known. Also, the cult could still be two if the fence sitter has switched to their side. Still, two is better than three.

I'm not sure he has a grudge against me, it's more a running joke. But it would tie up with the kitty thing being a plant and, his first comments both today and yesterday leave me with a bit of an uneasy feeling about the guy. I'd say MaliA is likely the SK then.
And maybe Zardoz as Mafia, based on the last couple of pages of last night.

My posts were based around you trying to save Myoptika, I suspected a little teamwork going on.

sorry grudge was a bit strong of a word for the 'running joke' as kalmar said, but the hello kitty is awfully suspicious to me but could just be trying to influence who gets hanged next. As for running jokes its no polar bear.

I know it said SA was a vanilla convert, but would he have been counted as so if he were the fence sitter and had just switched - after all, once you've switched you're just an ordinary member of whichever group you chose, and the cult would seem a good choice.

Either way, though, it looks like SA's death prevented the cult expanding to 2 or 3, and they might be still on 1. The vigilante seems to have made a sensible choice, too - gather useful info as much as possible (like being a tracker, only less rubbish than me, eh?).

Good point. We can't know either way though so there's probably not much point worrying (more) about it.

I assume he'll take someone out tonight then, if he learned anything?

If I read it right, the SK is basically the same as the vigilante (i.e. he can choose to learn roles), only somewhat more of a nutter and not aligned with the town by default. Could be going for the ladeez first mind you: watch out Goddess >:(

At least the odds are better for not lynching a townie this time. That's why I was uncomfortable about it yesterday, as well as thinking he was basically innocent. Looks like it was for the best in the end though.

You go and tell that to myoptika's poor dead corpse - unloved and untended as a source of embarrassment to us all.

(But I take your point, I think.)

It's good that you spoke up against it, and rallied to his defence.

Because, dude, that looked like a sad attempt to smear me!

Although now you mention it, perhaps I shoulda paid some heed.. That kitty sounded like a clumsy attempt at a frame to me (and I would have thought to most people) but here you are trying to paint me as the SK, and trying to get a lynch going against an innocent man..
HMMM.

It's hard to make sense of what happened though. Losing the doctor is a terrible start for us, but we've got the Vigilante, who will hopefully have targeted a bad person and can kill them later on.

I think that the Sinister Agent debacle was potentially predictable. He's shown himself to be a smart cookie, and as such the cult leader wanted him on side, and the mafia wanted him out of the way early.

The mime clearly didn't mimic the mafia hitman or the serial killer. The mime can really be a double edged sword though, as if he/she mimcs the SK and targets a townie, we're bahoned.

At least it's good news that we're a cultist down.

So, we still have:

Baddies
3 Mafia Goons
1 Mafia Doctor
1 Mafia Roleblocker
0 - 1 Mafia Stooge (formerly Fence Sitter)
1 SK
1 Cult Leader
0 - 1 Cultists (formerly FS)

Goodies
3 - 4 Vanilla Townies
1 Bulletproof Townie
1 Swift Townie
1 Governor
1 Suicide Bomber
1 Mime Artist
1 Vigilante

Given the unpredictability of the Mime artist and Suicide Bomber (not to mention our poor lynching skills), us townies have had our customary poor start.

Oh noes!

I'm sorry myp. I did try to pay my respects at your grave, but I'd had one too many pints of Hodsons Throbbing Testicle and... well... I'll just say that it didn't taste as good coming back up as it did going down.

Time to start concentrating on the rest of the village. For that, I'll need a drink.

Mere observations Kalmar. Hard to judge what went down last night when there's only a few of us discussing things.

Why? Because losing one of own makes our odds better of getting one of them? Hell of a way to make it easier for us!!

Because, if he hadn't been lynched he would probably now be cult. And/or we'd probably now be dithering about voting for him again.

We did waste an opportunity to take out one of the mafia or even the cult leader though, so it was a mistake from that point of view.

And I was against lynching him remember, or at least in favour of waiting a bit to see if any tactics showed up.

You're right, obviously, but the only way of the town getting information in the early going is to string a few people up. I wouldn't say that offing Myop was "for the best", but I'd definitely say it was a gamble worth taking. Omlettes, eggs, you know.

What's the consensus on the Hello Kitty doll? We know that Kalmar is a fan of all things Hello Kitty... is it a frame-job or an elaborate double bluff?

Also on seeing that goodies and baddies list, couldnt it be possible the vigilante targetted the swift townie and he escaped?

There are possibly 4 options - The SK framing Kalmar, Kalmar double bluffing, Kalmar being stupid, or CG adding in clues.

I think that it was so obvious that the latter two are more or less able to be discounted immedaitely. I don't think Kalmar is that stupid to do it anything other than intentionally, and it would be grossly unfair of CG.

I think it's one of the first two. Last game the SK used option 1, with a total lack of success. Option 2 would be a gutsy, gutsy move - I'm not sure the killer would want to draw attention to himself in that way this early in proceedings with all the other killing roles still in the game.

In summary, then - I don't know. Hope that's of help.

I'm in the office today so limited time to post in here. I think us getting wrong with myoptika means something but I'm not sure what yet.

We need to look at who was urging us to hang myoptika and work out those (like me) that thought he was suspicious, and those that wanted him hanged because they knew he wasn't mafia/cult.

I think that either way, Kalmar looks suspicious.

My fingers are lingering near the vote keys, but I don't want to rush into it in case someone better at the game than me wants to supply reasons why we should lynch someone else...

Well here's the list of votes for Myp:

plissken, zardoz, malia, curiosity, lacesensor, joans, kevr, gazchap, craster, mr russ, spinglo sponglo!

Of those, people that have piqued my suspiciometer are Mali and KevR, from yesterday's discussions. Nothing that makes me want to start pointing fingers though.

I know it said SA was a vanilla convert, but would he have been counted as so if he were the fence sitter and had just switched

In the event the fence-sitter had gone cult and then been killed, he would have been described as a 'Fence Sitting Cult Convert', yes? In other words, Sinister Agent was indeed a plain vanilla townie who had the misfortune of being recruited and killed in the same night.
