Same rules as usual mafiascum. Play to your win condition etc...

Roles in play:
Character name: King Decisive of Chooselands
Description: Grovel before the regal King Decisive, he who knows his shit! Regale yourself with his tales of justice! Interest yourself with further tales of his majesty! Mutter an excuse under your breath and wander off, because he's not going to stop talking.
Night power (if any): King Decisive can use his special truth-o-vision to get one fact that someone posted in the previous day confirmed or denied by the GM. If the person posting doesn't actually know the answer (because they were lying, or something) then KD gets jack.

Character name: Robert
Description: Just looks like any normal person
Night power (if any): Random defense
If targeted take a list of all the night actions available in the current game and have a random action occur against the person who targeted them

Character name: Hollis Hampson
Description: Hollis worries a lot and is always late. Think of Hollis as the White Rabbit in Wonderland. Despite the neuroses, Hollis is a bright enough sort and will always try and make the right decision.

Character name: The Doctor
Description: renegade Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey
Night power (if any): can choose to protect someone overnight.

Character name: Psychic Steve
Description: Born with an incredible gift, Psychic Steve can read minds simply by thinking about that person. He's often considered applying for the One Million Dollar Paranormal Challenge, but thinks it would be a churlish use of his power so ekes out a meagre living in this tiny village, providing travelling clairvoyancy services.
Night power (if any): Can read a person's mind and find out their allegiance - not just Good/Bad, but specifics. He can only read a person's mind once, though

Character name: Bin
Characteristics: You're a bin.
Night Power: If anyone discovers who you are then they can substitute their overnight power to pop inside amongst the garbage and hide out.

Character name: Mr Dave
Abilities: His analytical mind means that he can perceive patterns and movements in the nuances and movements of people; he can investigate any one person who has made more than 8 posts in a single day - this can occur at any time.

Character name: Bored political election fraudster
You are a bored political election fraudster without a current campaign to work on. In order to while away the time at work, you have created a way to trick the voting system for upcoming elections and are able to double vote on any and all lynches. You may cast a single vote, but it has the weight of two votes. If this is done, the moderator will only explicitly list the vote once, but it will count twice.

Character name: Princess Sparklebum
Description: The youngest daughter of the King of the pixie folk, Princess Sparklebum is a flying joy-machine bringing laughter, happiness, and rainbows to everyone she meets.
Night power (if any): Princess Sparklebum can shower a player with kittens and unicorns and thoughts of wonderous giggledust, leaving them unable to do anything in the night phase.

Character name: Tom Cruise
Description: Stuck in a closet with R Kelly. Not in a cult, Absolutely, completely, one hundred percent NOT in a cult. Don't even mention cults around him.
Night action (Public): During the night, he can go to a persons house if they're in and have a chat about things completely unrelated to cults.

Character name - Cedrick smythsonian
Abilities - none
History - former army chaplain. Struggles with concept of not being violent.

Character name: Alf
Role: Detective

More details will be revealed as people get killed (assuming there is a kill ability in the game…)

[playerlist]
Bobbyaro
Cras
Curiosity
DavPaz
Future Warrior
GazChap
Goddess Jasmine
Grim...
Mr Dave
Saturnalian
TheFireFaerie
Zaphod79
[/playerlist]

Day 1 ends Wednesday at 2pm.
http://www.beexcellenttoeachother.com/counter/
With 12 people alive, 7 votes are needed for a lynch.

12 people, and we've no idea if Troops has just let anyone be whatever they like, or whether he's done balancing of good guys/bad guys. This should be fun.

Assuming anything like the usual good guy/bad guy ratio, I don't think a random lynch is particularly in our favour today, given that if we're wrong, we will hit a (potentially cool) power role.

To make the mechanics of this a bit more clear, everyone with a night power has the option to hide in the bin overnight, to do this you must tell me during the night phase that you want to do that, and also tell me the name of the bin. If you are incorrect in naming the bin, you don't hide, but you also lose your original night ability for that turn.
I will tell you if you were successful in finding the bin

Also, if everyone stops posting at 7 posts, whoever is Mr Dave is a git.

This is possibly going to get me killed, so if The Doctor wants to protect me overnight, then that's fine with me. I figure this is a pretty good thing for the town to know at this point as day 1 is traditionally the one with no info.

I'm Psychic Steve. My allegiance is Town. I can investigate people overnight (once only per person though) and find out their faction.

However, my psychic abilities don't stop there. At the start of each day, I think really hard about the town and I can find out how many of each faction there are - except for my own faction.

My strong thoughts and crystal balls have told me that there are three Mafia and two neutrals. It's strongly hinted of course that Tom Cruise is a cult leader - if I survive this night I'll be able to find out if he's been recruiting.

Oh, and of course, King Decisiveness or whatever his name is - feel free to check the veracity of this information.

If it's true that's a hell of a lot of info, especially for day one. Doesn't help us with a target, but goodness.

Yeah, where it falls down is that I can only investigate someone once - blame these stupid cheap shitty Tarot cards.

So, the downside is that if I investigate someone and they're town, they could switch to mafia/cult (depending on recruiting powers obv.) and there's no way I can find out who switched.

DAY ONE WILD AND CRAZY ACCUSATION TIME

GazChap/Psychic Steve is a bad guy. His 'can only investigate once' is a cover for when he lies to protect his own guys. He can cover his arse by saying they must have been recruited.

Bit early to be deciding that yet, but Cras is certainly putting his head above the parapet. As will anyone else that seeks to discredit me, the bollocking twat fuckers.

A thought has just occurred. Not a psychic thought, mind - just a normal thought.

If there are 3 mafia and 2 neutrals, and if we follow through the assumption that Tom Cruise is a cult leader, then that would mean that currently he is neutral - unless he's working for the mafia I suppose.

Not sure how that works, I would have thought cult types would have their own faction.

Arr.

It's interesting - it gives bad guys a reason to keep quiet, particularly as the games goes on, and therefore a greater sense of distrust of quiet peoples.

Assuming, of course, that Mr Dave is a pro-town kinda guy. Which he ought to be in order to "be" Mr Dave

I have no idea what is going on, although Mr Dave posting to get investigated by Mr Dave is confusing me!

GazChap (appears to) has a lot of power, there doesn't appear to be a (mafia) kill role(!) and their may be a cult, a neutral person could be an SK, but wouldn't that appear in their night action?

I think it would be rather handy for Mr Dave to know that Mr Dave is a townie so that Mr Dave doesn't start trying to lynch Mr Dave.

I could be trying a reverse psychology thing, but it would be a heavy gamble were I to be a bad guy. Unless I had some kind of mask that corrupts investigations and be relying on that. But were someone to investigate me, they'd probably be able to decide upon the likeliness of that having done so and come to their own conclusions.

If Mr Dave was Robert and Robert was bad then an investigation might have a false negative. Or something.

Although Mr Dave can operates at day, which may somewhat hinder Roberts ability given that's a night action.

If I were Mr Dave and had already investigated, I wouldn't be outing myself as Mr Dave unless Mr Dave had discovered some bad dude. Although maybe then only if he were a threatening bad dude.

Of course, I have the suspicion that Mr Dave is going to get me killed due the thought that Mr Dave may be trying to hide under the mask of Mr Dave being a too obvious person for Mr Dave to be, and so therefore Mr Dave may actually be Mr Dave and so Mr Dave needs to be killed in order to stop Mr Dave from investigating. Bad Mr Dave.

I am, obviously, not Mr Dave, as anyone who knows me well will know.
