Grim...? He was proactive in asking questions on the first day yet not so much on the second day and just done the whole "I don't have a clue" today.

That's because I don't have a clue. And neither do you, it seems.

I don't think Dudley is daft enough to have gone for his usual bad-guy clique, so I don't think he'd recruit Grim...
I've got fuck all to back that up though.

That last pile-on for Shin definitely was suspicious - she wasn't exactly subtle about announcing that she had some level of investigative ability, so the last push of votes rings alarm bells for me.

That means:
Gaywood
Myp
Joans
Jasmine

Oh look, some familiar names in there. [vote:Doctor Glyndwr] for that reason, and for the same reasons I've given for the last two days.

Those four votes took place over (almost exactly) an hour. They don't look coordinated to me.

It doesn't take a lot of co-ordination to say "guys, all vote for shin, but slowly".

Also, why are you determined to demonstrate a lack of alien/mafia involvement in Shin's lynching?

I'm not sure what to make of Goddess Jasmine's last-minute vote yesterday. She appeared to badger Joans into voting, despite him wanting to wait for Shin to appear with a defense, and then her vote was the final nail in her coffin.

Could be she noticed Shin's hint and wanted her out of the way so that she couldn't discover any Mafia?

Seems like a good enough suspicion to me - [vote:Goddess Jasmine]

Because yesterday he flapped about but didn't vote, until the end when he jumped on the Shin wagon, possibly knowing she was a goody.

And to get the game moving.

I'm not, especially. But it also don't take much thinking on the part of the aliens/maf to say "don't be the last ones in". I agree it's something to go on, but it's not much.
Also, there were only two mafia (max) at that time anyway, weren't there?

Yeah, I'm thinking more alien than Mafia. But it is (for obvious reasons) the votes after the power role reveal that are the suspicious ones.

This makes a lot of sense to me and it was the final vote when we didnt need one at that point - so i'd like to hear from GJ why she did this.

And while we're picking out who to vote for I'll put my vote where my mouth is :

[vote:Goddess Jasmine]

Just re-reading the last 2 pages of yesterday, Sir morte is coming across as pretty suspicious, firstly he voted for shin with the reasing 'he didnt trust any of us' which is obviously a good reason to vote for someone. Also he then said playing quiet can bring suspicion on yourself which is particularly strange because he seems to be playing a quiet game himself.

I can guarantee you that a team of bad guys will have done both. Individual posters may not, but bad-guy teams don't miss things like that.

Mind you 4 people voted for shin after her hint, which means it could of went over the head of all 4 of them.

It seems though that it is suspicious if you post a lot (I'm staring at you Runcle...I've never noticed how close set your eyes are and that you have a unibrow) and it seems suspicious if you say nothing.

I'm more suspect of the initial votes rather than the end ones - it seems there reaches a point where people just go with the flow to get the day over, but the initial ones are probably scum trying to get fingers pointed early to give the rest of their team time to 'sneak' in unsuspicious support...

So my big FOS is currently pointed (still) at Zardoz...
he voted for both townies that have been lynched, and even suggested Shin as the target yesterday - probably his 'turn' as the initiator), so [vote:Zardoz]
Go on.. you know he's evil...

Also I've pointed the figure at two players who have generally been quite quiet, and within half an hour Ive had a rebute off both, and zardoz has seemed to have twice as many posts today than the other 2 combined in his show for innocence that hadnt even had a single vote against him yet.

I know I'm innocent, I know there are schemers who know this posting here now.

I'm thinking now that maybe Runcle & Mr Dom are in cahoots.

The GJ theory seems pretty good too.

Hmm...

One other thing to consider - having people in cahoots is *not* always a bad thing (FBI / Masons)

No votes, but you've been asking questions that I'm answering.

You've gotta be evil man.

The fact that they turned up after you 'pointed the figure' could just be because it's lunchtime.

Or it could be that someone is checking in every so often, not really having time to post, and then when they see someone is saying something about them, they take the time to post.

I know I've done that in the past.

Interestingly, if we assume that Zardoz is on to something and Runcle is evil (although it's clearly a shot in the dark unless Zardoz knows something and is just holding it extremely close to his chest) then Runcle's own coins thingie shows:

Zardoz 4 (and thus, evil)
Morte 0 (and therefore as pure as the driven snow, although he did apparently get 5 heads out of 5 on a different throw)
Runcle 2 (so pretty good, but then if he's bad he would put himself in the good category)
Goddess Jasmine 1

I've deliberately only picked out interesting ones.

So, if we assume that GJ is evil, and Runcle is too, and Runcle is now trying to deflect attention away from GJ on to Zardoz and Morte, then the coins show this.

Probably nothing, but given how everyone calls for Runcle to do his coins thing, if he was evil then it would present a fairly unique opportunity to try and sway the votes, with some careful fixing.

ha that post is rife with typos. I guess that explains mortes quick reply, I'd say less so for zardoz.

Beex Weex interfered with me staying in touch with this thread this morning, sorry. I'm caught up now though. Not sure what to think here; I'm a little wary of the strength of the sudden push towards Goddess Jasmine, but there is a logical reason for the voting behind it so I reckon I'm jumping at shadows.

I did notice this, which no-one has commented on:

Might not mean anything, but it sounded to me a little like a Mafia player trying to downplay the threat to the town. Does anyone else agree?

Maybe, but then the mafia isn't really much of a threat now, is it?

We know they have one killing role, so they are at least as powerful as the serial killer was. They have a 50/50ish (I think?) chance of a second power role, meaning they are much more powerful than the serial killer, BA, mason (unless there are four of them), or FBI factions.

Quite, I'm not saying you are a bad guy (like I said, unless Zardoz is playing something very close to his chest it's a shot in the dark, GJ is the only person who's done anything mega-suspicious) but I just found the pattern interesting.

Thinking on, if they do have two members, they might even be getting two kills/night from now on. The aliens might outnumber them, but they can only kill once per night.

Yeah, I'm thinking more alien than Mafia. But it is (for obvious reasons) the votes after the power role reveal that are the suspicious ones.

You're assuming that people (a) paid any attention and (b) believed her.

I never spotted it at all. When I saw that she had a role, I looked back over her posts and picked up on the 'kids' stuff, but she talks like that outside of the game too so I never picked up on it. To be honest, I'm not sure that I would have believed her anyway.

My reason for voting for her when I did? Stupidity mainly, I did want to wait and see if she might role reveal, but my enthusiasm for wanting to move things on took over.

That was a clue?

Could you please not agree with me GJ, it makes me look bad, what with you being a bona fide baddy now.

You'll be happier having lynched an honest man, then? Hmmm.

Aah, interesting. I didn't realise that they could get multiple kills in one night if they had more than one Hitman, but a check of the rules reveals you're correct. I thought it worked like previous Mafias where they had to choose one of them to carry out the hit.

Yeah, with that in mind they're a bigger threat than I'd imagined. I'm also confused as to what this means (from the rules):

Quote:
Once someone is recruited to the Mafia they will be randomly assigned a job based on their skills.

Based on what skills? Does that mean that the Serial Killer (had he been recruited) definitely been a hitman? The Photographer would have been a bodyguard/roleblocker etc.

I think it means "imaginary skills", otherwise it's not random at all.

The sudden GJ band wagon is a bit suspicious, as DrG says, and Grim... and GazChap started that and and then are both trying to play down the threat of the Mafia. as someone said earlier, Grim...'s style of play has changed drastically from Day one through 2 to 3. I think he has been recruited.

Well I've just caught up on the last four pages and I don't really know what to think (much like most of you either). Getting rid of Dudley feels like a win, as the mafia can't grow now. That means there's one or two lurking out there still, but I feel that the aliens are the bigger threat now.

I still don't see any reason to change my vote from the last two days, so [vote:Doctor Glyndwr]. I've not had a gut feeling like this since the week before last year's Nottingham meet.
